The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 104
ARIA
The entire pack is packing for our move, and my body decides NOW is the time to go into labor.
I shift uncomfortably, watching Aurora organize her toys into boxes. Two days ago, Jace announced our new territory was ready. Everyone got excited about the bigger houses and better facilities he showed in the pictures.
Everyone except me. I'm stuck feeling weird and on edge with this building pressure in my lower back that keeps coming and going. Probably just false contractions.
Sometimes I still can't believe my journey. Sage feels stronger inside me today, almost protective.
Another sharp pain hits and I gasp. This one feels different—deeper. When it passes, I try to stand to find Jace.
I barely make it to the stairs when another contraction hits. Then I feel warm liquid running down my legs. My water just broke.
"JACE!" My voice comes out as a panicked shout.
His response is immediate through our mind link. "What's wrong, Aria?"
"My water broke, and it hurts so bad." I can't stop the tears that spring to my eyes.
"Don't move, baby. I'm coming right now."
I hear him running, feet pounding up the stairs. When he reaches me, his arms wrap around me, strong and steady. He lifts me effortlessly, his mind already connecting with someone else.
"Aurora, Eliana and Lucas will be here in a minute," he calls out.
I hear more footsteps rushing up the stairs as Jace carries me down.
"Aria?" Lucas's voice sounds concerned.
Another contraction rips through me before I can answer.
"Aurora's upstairs. I'll keep you updated," Jace tells him as he rushes toward the door.
I catch Lucas saying Gabriel would be there soon, but the pain makes it hard to focus on anything else.
The world blurs as Jace races us to the Healing Center. Dr. Maya is already waiting, directing Jace to place me on a bed.
"Hello, Luna. Looks like we're going to meet your baby boy today," she says with a calm smile that does nothing for the panic rising in my chest.
"Doctor, it hurts," I whisper, hating how weak I sound.
"I know, Luna. Those are contractions. I expected the pain would be worse, considering you're not giving birth to a normal wolf." Her honesty doesn't make me feel better.
I'm not a normal werewolf. I wasn't born one. What if my human body can't handle this? What if something goes wrong? Sage stirs inside me, pushing back against my fears.
Dr. Maya examines me while a nurse prepares the room. "If you want to stay, Alpha, you're welcome to. Just remain by her head," she tells Jace.
He squeezes my hand. Of course he's staying.
"Okay, Luna. You're ready. Next contraction, push with everything you've got. Understand?" Dr. Maya positions herself at the foot of the bed.
I nod, gripping Jace's hand so hard my knuckles turn white.
"You can do this, baby," Jace murmurs. "You're amazing and I've never met anyone as strong as you."
When I look at him, his eyes are wet. Before I can react, another contraction hits and I bear down, pushing with all my might.
JACE
Hours pass as I stand beside Aria, watching her fight through each contraction. My hand is numb from her grip, but I don't care. She's incredible—stronger than any wolf-born female I've seen give birth. Phantom stirs inside me, desperate to help.
*Let me lend strength to Sage,* my wolf demands.
I close my eyes, allowing my wolf to connect with Sage. Energy flows from me to Aria as Sage and she become one, fighting together to deliver our son.
"I can see the head," Dr. Maya announces. "Next push, really give it all you've got, Luna."
Aria squeezes my hand harder and bears down again, her face showing pure determination.
"That's it. Push, Luna! Don't stop... here he comes!"
Aria collapses back, and then I hear it—a tiny cry filling the room. Our son.
I kiss Aria everywhere, telling her I love her. Dr. Maya cleans our son, then places him on Aria's chest.
"Look at him," Aria whispers.
"He's perfect. Absolutely perfect," I say, my voice thick with emotion.
"He is perfect," Dr. Maya says quietly, "but you should see this."
She reveals a small birthmark on our son's right shoulder, shaped like small crescent. I freeze. The Mark of Leadership.
"Do you think it will become more noticeable?" Aria asks worriedly.
"I think so. But for now, it's faint enough that others won't notice. Let's keep it that way." My Alpha instincts surge. This mark makes him a target.
Aria nods in understanding. Our son needs protection, and he'll have it—from both of us.
After Aria gets cleaned up with the nurses' help, I step out into the hallway where our family waits anxiously – Gabriel, Lucas, Eliana, and little Aurora. My heart swells seeing my daughter bouncing impatiently.
I scoop Aurora into my arms, unable to contain my smile. "Your little brother is perfect."
Her excited squeal makes everyone laugh, briefly cutting through the tension.
"First," I tell them, "Aria is exhausted, so be gentle. Second, you can all come in, but only for a few minutes. They both need rest."
They nod in agreement, understanding the importance of this moment.
Inside the room, Aria sits propped against pillows, cradling Atlas. I walk Aurora to the bed, setting her down carefully. She leans over, studying her brother with wide, curious eyes.
"Mom, he's so cute," she whispers with such reverence that everyone smiles.
She plants a gentle kiss on Atlas's forehead, the simple gesture making my throat tighten again. I carefully lift Atlas and place him in Gabriel's arms.
Gabriel gazes down at my son, then looks at Aria with a rare softness. "He's beautiful, little deer."
His sharp eyes catch the birthmark, and he looks up at us, question unspoken.
"Yes," I confirm. "The leader's mark."
"Could be dangerous if the wrong people discover it," Gabriel warns.
I nod. "For now, only we know, plus Dr. Maya. I'll tell Dr. Jonathan and Hunter. But that's it. We're all family."
Gabriel nods. "He must be protected."
"He will be," I promise, the weight of that vow settling across my shoulders like a physical thing.
Gabriel smiles, a rare sight these days. "Good. I believe this little one will prove stronger than any of us imagine."
Later that night, everyone has gone. Aurora is staying with Lucas and Eliana because I insisted on remaining at the Healing Center with Aria. She needs to stay overnight for observation, and I refuse to leave her side.
I watch Aria and Atlas sleeping peacefully, my heart melting at the sight. Through the open window, I can hear the Moon Shadow Pack celebrating, welcoming the birth of their future leader.
Whether Atlas is destined to lead or not, he represents our future, and I will do everything in my power to keep him safe.
"I beg you, Moon Goddess," I whisper into the darkness, "keep little Atlas safe."
I don't expect an answer, but a surge of powerful magic courses through my body, making every hair stand on end.
*Do not worry, my King. The Guardian will be safe.*
The words come with such force that I forget to breathe for a moment. The Moon Goddess has answered my plea.
