The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 200

AURORA

I pulled Lawrence into my bedroom, my nerves on edge. Nobody had ever lasted that long against Dad in a fight, let alone landed so many hits. My hands frantically moved over Lawrence's arms and chest, searching for injuries.

"Are you really okay?" My voice trembled slightly.

"I'm fine," he assured me, showing his arms where bruises had already disappeared. "See? All healed."

The moment my door closed, I stood on my tiptoes and pressed my lips against Lawrence's. All my worry transformed into desire. His body responded immediately, pushing me against the door, deepening our kiss until I couldn't breathe.

"Please, Lawrence," I whispered, my hands already tugging at his shirt.

He pulled back slightly. "Here? In your parents' house?"

"All bedrooms are soundproof," I assured him. *Thank god for werewolf privacy standards.*

We quickly shed our clothes, dropping them in heaps on the floor. Lawrence's eyes darkened as they roamed over me.

"Last time I was gentle," he whispered against my ear, his breath hot on my skin. "This time I won't be."

A shiver ran down my spine. "Good."

He lifted me up with one powerful motion, my legs wrapping around his waist. Against the door, our bodies moved together urgently. This wasn't careful or gentle—this was raw need, fierce and intense. When we both reached our peak, I buried my face in his shoulder to muffle my cries, my entire body trembling.

Afterward, he held me tight, his breathing gradually slowing. "Are you okay, baby?" he asked softly.

"Mmm," was all I could manage, my body still tingling.

*That was amazing,* Kaila purred in my mind.

*Shut up,* I responded, feeling my cheeks flush even more.

I unwrapped my legs and let him set me down. My knees felt weak, but a pleasant warmth had settled throughout my body.

"Let's shower, then I can show you around," I suggested, taking his hand and leading him toward the bathroom.

Under the warm spray, we washed each other gently. I couldn't stop smiling. This powerful, incredible man was mine. And he'd faced my father and earned his respect—something almost no one accomplished.

After drying off, we dressed in light jeans and white t-shirts. Lawrence looked incredible, the simple outfit highlighting his broad shoulders and strong arms.

We headed downstairs, finding the house empty. *Mom must have cleared everyone out on purpose. Always thoughtful.*

"Ready to see the town?" I asked, taking his hand again.

The town wasn't large, but it had everything we needed. As we walked, I pointed out important places—the grocery store, the community center, and the clinic where Dr. Maya worked. Lawrence took everything in with interest.

"It's different than I expected," he said.

I was about to ask what he meant when I heard a familiar voice call out.

"Aurora! We heard you went traveling. Didn't find what you were looking for?"

*Ugh. Tammie. Just what I needed.* I turned to see her approaching, her eyes immediately fixing on Lawrence with obvious interest. Kaila growled in my head.

Before I could respond, Lawrence stepped forward. "Hello, I'm Lawrence. Aurora's mate."

I felt a surge of satisfaction at his confident declaration. The territorial look in his eyes made my wolf rumble with approval.

Tammie's eyebrows shot up. "So you found your second-chance mate after all?" She directed this at me, but her eyes kept wandering to Lawrence's arms.

"Yes, I did," I confirmed, moving closer to Lawrence. "And I'd appreciate it if you didn't flirt with my mate."

Her cheeks flushed, and she quickly made an excuse to leave. I felt slightly guilty for being so direct, but honestly, I wasn't in the mood for her games.

"She's been after every unmated male since high school," I explained as we walked away. "It's exhausting."

"You handled her perfectly," Lawrence said, his thumb caressing my hand. "Your wolf is quite possessive."

*Damn right I am,* Kaila huffed.

"Let's go see the castle," I suggested, changing the subject. "I have a suite there we can use."

Lawrence draped his arm around my shoulders as we walked. When the castle came into view, he stopped abruptly.

"This is incredible," he said, genuine awe in his voice. "I've never seen anything like it."

Pride swelled in my chest. The castle was impressive—an ancient stone structure that my pack had moved into when my father became king. Inside, I led him through the grand hallways, past the ceremonial chambers where pack meetings were held, and up the winding staircase to the family wing.

"Most of this floor belongs to my father and mother," I explained. "Atlas has rooms on the east side. Mine are here."

I opened the heavy wooden door to reveal my private suite.

"And this is mine," I said as Lawrence stepped inside, taking in the spacious rooms with wide eyes. The afternoon sun streamed through tall windows, illuminating the comfortable furnishings and personal touches I'd added over the years.

"This is amazing," he said, turning to face me. "I understand why you love it here."

"We don't have to stay here," I told him, suddenly nervous. "We could get our own house. But we can start here."

He crossed the room and kissed me softly. "This is perfect."

We spent the next hour talking about our future plans and hopes. I showed him where everything was kept, making space in drawers for his things.

"When do you want to attempt your first shift?" he asked, sitting beside me on the bed.

I took a deep breath. It was the question I'd been expecting. "Tonight," I decided firmly. "I don't want to wait any longer."

*We're ready,* Kaila assured me. *I've waited so long for this.*

"Are you sure?" Lawrence's eyes searched mine, concern evident in his expression.

I nodded. "With you by my side, I feel ready." *Finally ready.*

"It will hurt," he warned gently. "The first shift always does."

"I know. But it's a pain I've dreamed of feeling." I touched his face. "Most wolves fear their first shift. I've feared never having one."

"We should tell your parents," Lawrence suggested. "They'll want to know."

"You're right." I stood, holding out my hand to him. "Let's go back and tell them."

Hand in hand, we walked toward my parents' house. For the first time in years, I felt complete. I had my wolf, I had my mate, and tonight I would finally shift.

*We'll do this together,* Kaila assured me.

"Together," I whispered, squeezing Lawrence's hand as we walked through the gathering darkness.
