After everything that had happened, everyone really needed to have some time off, and a chance to have fun. The festival was planned to be happening in a week. With the two competitions planned, one for the Alphas and the other for the Lunas. And to make it safe and fair the Lunas are only allowed to fight in human form, but I am good with that.

Actually, I was more than good with that rule. Fighting in human form worked perfectly for me since I was still getting used to controlling my newfound wolf abilities. Being Jace's Luna was already making waves across the pack system.

Jace left early for Alpha business. Aurora and Atlas would be up soon, demanding breakfast and attention.

I quickly got ready and headed to the kitchen to start breakfast. The pancakes would get them out of bed.

"Mom! Mom!" Aurora came running into the kitchen first. "Can we have chocolate chips?"

"Good morning, princess," I laughed, grabbing the chocolate chips. "Just a few, okay?"

Atlas shuffled in behind her, still half-asleep. "Boo-berries," he mumbled, climbing onto his chair with some effort.

"Coming right up, buddy."

I loved these moments with the kids. Between pack politics and the festival drama, these peaceful times felt precious.

After breakfast, we hung out in the living room. I read them stories while they played. Aurora clutched her wolf stuffed animal, ironically named Fluffy.

"Daddy big!" Atlas declared suddenly, raising his small arms up.

"Yes, Daddy is very big," I agreed, smoothing his messy hair.

"Why Daddy so big?" Aurora asked curiously.

"Because he's strong in here," I said, gently tapping her chest. "And in his mind too."

Aurora nodded seriously while Atlas had already moved on to crashing his toy cars together.

By midday, after we'd had lunch and cleaned up, both kids were yawning.

"Nap time, you two," I announced, leading them upstairs.

"But I'm not tired," Aurora protested, even as she rubbed her eyes.

"Just rest your eyes for a little while," I suggested, tucking her into bed. "When you wake up, maybe we can make cookies."

That sealed the deal. Aurora snuggled down with Fluffy while Atlas was already half-asleep in his bed across the room. I kissed their foreheads and slipped out, closing the door quietly behind me.

Finally, a moment to myself. And a chance to check on Jace.

I made my way downstairs and through the main hall of the packhouse. Several members nodded respectfully as I passed, though I noticed a few curious glances. Even though my wolf had emerged, they were still adjusting to a formerly human Luna.

The corridor leading to Jace's office was quiet, most pack members busy with their daily duties. I hesitated outside his door, knowing he was finalizing details for the Winter Moon festival. Should I disturb him? He'd been working tirelessly to make sure everything was perfect.

Taking a deep breath, I knocked gently.

"Come in, baby." His voice filtered through the heavy wooden door.

I pushed it open and stepped inside. Jace was behind his massive oak desk, surrounded by ancient scrolls and modern tablets alike. The moment he saw me, he stood up, his face brightening.

"Why did you knock, baby? You know that you can just come inside," he said, rounding the desk.

"I know you've been busy with planning the festival, so wanted to be sure that I didn't disturb you," I replied, suddenly feeling silly for the formality.

"Doesn't matter, you can always come in. No matter what." He pulled me close, pressing a kiss to my forehead.

"If you say so." I leaned into his warmth, letting his familiar scent calm my wolf and me.

"I finished the last details today, and everything is ready for the festival," he said, guiding me to sit on the edge of his desk.

"Really? How many Lunas signed up?" I asked, genuinely curious. This was the first time Lunas would have their own competition alongside the traditional Alpha tournament.

"Eighteen. It's not as many as the Alphas where we are thirty-two but it's a good number for a first time." Pride colored his voice.

"Eighteen is good. Better than I expected." I reached out to touch his face, tracing the strong line of his jaw.

"Yes, it is." His voice dropped lower, eyes darkening slightly as he watched me.

Something electric passed between us. Suddenly, the festival details seemed very unimportant. Jace stepped closer, positioning himself between my legs as I sat on the desk's edge.

"The kids?" he asked, hands already sliding under my sweater.

"Napping," I whispered, my breath catching as his fingers traced patterns on my skin.

His mouth found mine, gentle at first, then increasingly urgent. Papers rustled beneath me as he pushed me back onto the desk, scattering scrolls and tablets.

"Jace, your—" I gasped, concerned about the documents.
