The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 253

ALPHA LOUIS

I noticed my family was unusually quiet as we walked back to the quarters Aria had arranged for us. Jane kept her eyes down, my sons looked tense, and my daughter Julie seemed lost in her own world. They thought I didn't know, but I knew more than they realized.

I'd sensed Julie awaken from her coma yesterday morning. I felt it through our pack bond - that sudden spark of life returning. Then about thirty minutes after we arrived, I felt something else - she and her destined mate had marked each other. I even sensed her mate was female. None of this surprised me. A father always knows.

When we entered the house, I saw a young woman sitting next to Julie. My daughter's face glowed with happiness - a sight I hadn't seen in months.

"Dad, I've missed you so much," Julie said, rushing forward to embrace me.

I wrapped my arms around her. "My beautiful daughter, it's so good to see you awake and so happy." I held her tight, breathing in her scent. The mark on her neck was fresh but healing well.

Jane stepped beside me, her eyes questioning. "You already knew?"

"I sensed her wake up, and not long after, she completed the marking," I told my mate with a smile. "I felt it happen."

"And you understand that her mate is..." Jane's voice trailed off.

"A female? Yes, I know." I turned to Julie and the young woman. "Jane, I've never questioned the Moon Goddess's choices. I thought you knew me better than that."

Julie's eyes widened with surprise and relief. The tension drained from her shoulders.

"I'm happy for you both," I said, turning to the young woman. "I'm honored to meet you."

"Gina, Alpha," she responded, lowering her eyes respectfully.

I stepped forward and embraced her. "Welcome to our family, Gina."

"Thank you, Alpha Louis."

"Please, call me Louis. Or dad, if you prefer."

Maddie stood near the doorway, shock written across her face. I caught her eye and winked. She smiled back, understanding flowing between us. My daughter had worried for nothing - I would never reject Julie's happiness, regardless of who the Moon Goddess chose for her.

Maddie grabbed Atlas's hand and pulled him toward the door. "We'll give you all some time," she whispered, slipping outside.

MADDIE

I dragged Atlas through the house and out into the forest. My head spun with everything that just happened. Dad knew all along? He accepted Gina without hesitation? I needed air and privacy for what I was about to do.

"Are you okay?" Atlas asked, following me through the trees.

"Yes, I'm fine." My heart hammered against my ribs. Why was this so hard?

"Then why are we out here?"

I stopped when we reached a quiet clearing. The forest seemed to hush around us, as if waiting. Looking at Julie and Gina, watching the love between them, had finally shattered my last hesitations.

"Seeing Julie and Gina..." I took a deep breath. "I realized all my fears and hesitations were pointless. I finally understand what I truly want..." My voice lowered. "I want love. Real, burning love. I want you, Atlas. All of you." I dropped my gaze to the ground.

The silence stretched between us. I could hear our breathing and distant wolf howls.

Atlas gently lifted my chin, forcing me to meet his eyes. "Are you sure?" he whispered.

I nodded, unable to speak.

Suddenly he pulled me close, lowering his head to capture my lips in a deep kiss. A rumbling growl vibrated in his throat as his mouth claimed mine. The kiss awakened every sense in my body.

"Let's go to my place," he whispered against my ear.

I nodded again, completely under his spell.

We walked through the castle's grand halls toward his quarters. I was surprised by the scale of his living space when we arrived - it was like a luxury apartment with a kitchen and multiple rooms, even a door leading to a hallway with smaller bedrooms.

"This is amazing," I said, turning slowly. "I expected just a room with a bathroom, maybe like where we stayed during the ball."

"My sister Aurora had a suite in the castle too, though not this big," Atlas explained. "It was expected she'd move to her mate's pack. Her first mate wasn't a good man. Lawrence chose to stay here with her."

He showed me around - a modest sitting area with ancient pack totems on the walls, a kitchen that looked barely used, and a bathroom that took my breath away with its massive shower and deep tub.

The bedroom was enormous. I stood in the center, slowly turning to take it all in. Against the farthest wall stood a massive bed, larger than a king-size, made of dark wood with posts that reached the ceiling. The bedspread was black and deep red. The walls were deep gray, and three doors were painted black.

"This door leads to my closet," Atlas said, walking to the last door. "And this..." He opened it for me to step through. "This is for you."

I gasped at the room-sized closet with a vanity and plenty of space. "It's huge."

Atlas moved behind me, pressing a kiss to the back of my neck. I shivered with anticipation.

"It's all yours," he whispered, kissing my neck. His wolf Luke growled with satisfaction inside him.

My body trembled against his. The thought that he'd prepared this space for me, had been waiting for me even before we met, made my heart swell. I felt his hands slide around my waist, strong and possessive. This was what belonging felt like - this safety, this certainty.

"Atlas," I whispered, my voice breaking with emotion. I couldn't find more words.

He turned me to face him, his eyes glowing with intensity. "You're home now," he said simply.

I reached up to touch his face, tracing the strong line of his jaw. Everything about this moment felt right. I'd crossed oceans and survived terrors to find my way here, to him, to this room that would be ours.

"I've never felt this way before," I admitted. "It scares me how much I want you."

Atlas pressed his forehead against mine, his breathing heavy. "You have me. All of me."

His lips brushed against mine as his hands slid to my lower back, pulling me hard against him. A low growl escaped his throat.

"Tomorrow, you'll wear my mark," he whispered against my ear, his voice rough with desire. "Tonight, I just want to hear you say my name again."

I melted into his embrace, surrendering completely. "Atlas."

His fingers tangled in my hair, tilting my head back. The hunger in his eyes made my knees weak.

"I've waited my whole life for you," he murmured, trailing kisses down my throat.

I gasped as his teeth grazed my skin, right where his mark would soon be.

"Tell me what you want, Maddie," he demanded softly.

I pressed myself against him, all doubts vanishing like morning mist.

"Make me yours," I whispered. "Completely."
