The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 256
MADDIE
My bedroom looked so empty now, just a couple clothes and personal items left to pack. I carefully folded the last photo into my suitcase, making sure not to crease it.
"Got everything, Maddie?" Dad appeared in the doorway, his voice softer than usual.
"Yes, thank you, Dad." I tried to smile without showing how nervous I actually felt.
He walked over, his eyes gentler than I'd ever seen them. "Maddie, I want you to know how incredibly proud I am of you." He took a deep breath. "You'll be an amazing queen, and I know Atlas will be by your side."
When he opened his arms, I couldn't resist walking into them. Dad rarely got emotional, but I could feel his pride and reluctance to let go.
"Thank you, Dad. Having all of you—you, Mom, Julie, Blake, and Ben—makes me really lucky."
"Even when we move to the new territory, we'll always support you," he promised, patting my back firmly.
"Atlas is here," Mom called from downstairs. My heart immediately raced. Dad helped with my luggage as we headed down.
Ben shot toward me like a bullet, wrapping his arms around my waist. "I'll miss you, Maddie," his voice trembled.
Blake approached reluctantly but eventually gave me a solid hug. "I love you," he said quickly, releasing me as if afraid someone might notice his emotions.
Mom's embrace was the tightest, her shoulders shaking slightly. "Mom, don't cry," I soothed. "I promise, once you're settled in the new territory, I'll visit whenever I can."
"I'll make sure you see each other as often as possible," Atlas said from the doorway. I looked at him gratefully.
Julie was the hardest goodbye. Our sister bond remained unbroken, even through her toughest times.
"I don't want to leave my sister," Julie suddenly announced, standing beside Gina. "Gina and I want to stay in Ancient Moon Shadow Pack. If you and Atlas will have us."
I looked at Atlas, surprised. He simply smiled. "That's your decision, Maddie."
After considering briefly, I nodded. "Of course you can stay. If Mom and Dad agree, I'd love to have you with me."
Julie hugged me excitedly while I looked over at my parents, who had clearly already approved.
"We're happy to have you both," Atlas said sincerely.
Gina bowed deeply. "Thank you, Atlas and Maddie. We will serve you always." I smiled awkwardly, still not used to such deference.
Atlas turned to my parents. "Tomorrow, I'll take you all to see the land where your pack will live." He explained, "It's not completely ready yet, but I hope you can see it and offer suggestions for the pack house renovations."
"That would be excellent," Dad responded gratefully.
I felt touched by Atlas's thoughtfulness, not just considering my family but respecting their input too.
When we arrived at Atlas's quarters, he carried my luggage into the bedroom. I looked around nervously, feeling overwhelmed. The room was larger than I'd imagined, with ancient wolf totems on the walls and an incredibly comfortable-looking bed.
"Just a lot happening, with moving and everything..." I stammered, unable to express my jumbled emotions. "I just..."
"Feel overwhelmed," Atlas finished for me, and I nodded gratefully.
After helping me organize my clothes, Atlas gave me a tour. Next to his office, he opened a door to a completely empty room.
"This is your office," he smiled. "It's empty because we want you to decorate it however you wish."
Too moved for words, I rose on my tiptoes to kiss his cheek and whispered thanks. The fact he'd prepared a private space just for me showed such consideration.
That night marked my first time falling asleep in Atlas's arms—strange yet wonderful. His heartbeat became my lullaby, his warmth my security.
Staring at the ceiling, I contemplated our future. There would be challenges and difficulties, but countless beautiful moments too. My lips curved upward involuntarily as I whispered, "The future's just beginning, and everything will be perfect."
*Yes, it will,* Lily responded through our mental link. I smiled and drifted to sleep.

Two weeks later, after an intimate moment, I cuddled against Atlas. "Will it always be like this?" I asked softly, needing reassurance.
Atlas looked at me seriously. "I believe and hope so. Because I've never felt this way before."
I bit my lip, wanting to ask but afraid. "But before you..."
"Maddie," he interrupted, his gaze intensely serious. "I regret being with anyone else." He traced my cheek with his fingertip. "This isn't just physical. This is our connection, our love." He inhaled deeply. "You're the most important person in my life."
My heart expanded in my chest, feeling ready to burst through my ribs. "I love you, Atlas."
"I love you too," he replied, kissing my forehead.
ATLAS
I never imagined becoming this person. These two weeks living with Maddie helped me understand the deep bond between my parents. I used to think they were too affectionate—now I get it. When you find your true mate, everything changes.
Waking up beside her each morning is life's greatest gift. I'm determined to prove my loyalty and love daily, just as my father does for my mother.
Today Maddie's family moves to their new territory. I know it'll be difficult for her, but it's only a three-hour drive away. Julie choosing to stay with Gina provides Maddie great comfort. I'm happy for Julie and Gina—despite the initially awkward situation, fate's choices have no right or wrong.
"We should get ready, my love," I gently tapped Maddie's shoulder. She opened her sleepy eyes and smiled, melting my heart again.
We showered together and dressed. Maddie wore simple jeans and a white top, yet to me, she outshone any woman in formal attire. She's my Queen, my destiny, the piece of my heart that lives outside my body.
"Ready to see your father's new territory?" I asked, taking her hand.
"With you beside me, I'm ready for anything," she answered, firmly interlocking our fingers.
As we walked toward the car, I noticed the hint of worry returning to Maddie's eyes. I pulled her close, pressing my lips against her temple.
"Your father's pack will thrive in their new home," I whispered against her skin.
"And if they don't?" she asked, her voice small.
I turned her to face me, thumbs gently brushing her cheeks. "Then we'll build them something better. Together."
Maddie's shoulders relaxed as she leaned into my touch. "Promise?"
"Always," I vowed, taking her hand as we stepped into the morning sunlight.
