The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 116
Chapter121
JACE
6:00 AM. I spent the next several hours just watching her sleep. The terror of almost losing her crushed my chest every time I thought about it. Damn it, Alphas aren't supposed to feel this helpless.
She stirred in my arms, and I pulled her closer, needing to feel her warmth against me. Her soft sigh brushed against my neck, sending an immediate rush of desire through my body.
"Don't do that," I warned in a low voice.
She laughed softly. "Do what?"
"Make those sounds. Not when you're still recovering."
Her fingers traced patterns on my chest. "I love waking up like this. In your arms."
I could feel the weakness in her body, the fatigue still pulling at her. "You need to rest today. You promised."
"I will," she nodded, her voice still rough with sleep.
The bedroom door creaked open and tiny footsteps pattered across the floor. Aurora appeared at the side of the bed, her eyes wide with concern.
"Why is Aria still in bed?" she asked, her head tilted to one side. "Is she sick?"
"I got very tired last night," Aria explained, opening her arms to Aurora, who immediately climbed onto the bed.
"I'll take care of you," Aurora announced, her small face serious. "Daddy says we take care of pack."
"That's right, princess," I confirmed, sliding out of bed. "I'm going to get dressed."
As I walked toward the closet, Aria began humming a melody I'd never heard before. Aurora settled against her, listening intently.
I pulled on jeans and a t-shirt, then heard noises from the kitchen. I gestured toward the door.
"I'll check that out."
In the kitchen, I found Gabriel setting plates on the counter.
"I thought Aurora might be hungry," he explained. "And Aria should eat something."
"Join us," I invited, clapping him on the shoulder. "Family breakfast."
We spent the next few hours together—Aria resting in bed while Aurora "took care" of her, bringing her water and telling her stories. Gabriel and I ate breakfast with them, and for those few hours, nothing else mattered beyond the walls of our room.
**ARIA**
The morning with Jace, Aurora, and Gabriel had been perfect. We gathered around the breakfast table as Aurora's giggles echoed through the room. When she asked about the song I'd hummed while helping her with her breakfast, I explained it was something my foster mother Bree used to sing when I was little.
"It's about protection," I told her, tucking a strand of her dark hair behind her ear. Her looked up at me with curiosity. "About keeping someone safe no matter what. I want you to know I'll always protect you, just like your daddy does."
Aurora smiled and wrapped her small arms around my neck. "I know you will. You're strong like Daddy."
After Aurora left for the Wolf Cub Center with Gabriel, I headed to the packhouse despite Jace's protests that I should stay in bed and rest after yesterday's incident. He finally relented when I promised to take it easy.
Luna Seraphina was already waiting for me at the entrance hall with a Pack dressmaker to discuss my outfit for the upcoming Moon Goddess Coronation Ceremony. Her elegant posture and warm smile immediately put me at ease.
"It should reflect both your uniqueness and our traditions," Luna Seraphina explained as the dressmaker, an older woman named Mara, displayed several fabric samples. Her fingers traced over the different textures. "This is an important moment for you and for the Pack."
We spent an hour discussing designs before choosing moonlight silver fabric with the Pack's symbols woven into it. The dressmaker promised to have it ready before the full moon.
"Thank you for helping with this," I told Luna Seraphina as we walked through the Pack grounds afterward. "I wouldn't know where to start with any of these traditions."
"It's my pleasure," she replied, her voice gentle. "The ceremony is important. Every Luna brings something unique to her role."
Halfway through our walk across the central grounds, I noticed two familiar Pack members emerging from the craftsman's hut—Caleb and Emma. Emma's cheeks flushed pink when she saw us, and she quickly straightened her shirt.
"Luna Aria," she greeted, bowing her head slightly. Her eyes darted to Caleb, who stood tall beside her.
"How are you both?" I asked, smiling at their clasped hands. I'd heard about their difficult histories but hadn't realized they'd found comfort in each other.
"Very well," Caleb answered, squeezing Emma's hand. His usually serious face softened when he looked at her. "We've been spending time together these past few weeks."
Emma nodded. "We decided to get to know each other privately first. Before making anything official."
"And now we've decided to become chosen mates," Caleb announced proudly. "We wanted you and Alpha Jace to know."
"That's wonderful news," I replied sincerely. "You both deserve happiness after everything you've been through."
They thanked us and bowed respectfully before continuing on their way, shoulders touching as they walked.
"Those two have quite a story," I told Luna Seraphina as we resumed walking along the stone path toward the gardens.
"Like everyone who knows, I regret what happened to them," she said softly, her eyes following the couple. "But I'm glad they found each other. Sometimes the Moon Goddess has unexpected plans for us."
When we returned to the packhouse, I thanked her again for her help and guidance.
"It's been my pleasure," she assured me, touching my arm gently. "I enjoy our time together, and I'm happy to help prepare you for your role."
After Luna Seraphina left, I made my way to Jace's Alpha office. He was alone when I entered, surrounded by maps and reports, and his eyes brightened instantly when he saw me.
"Sorry I missed lunch," he said, pushing back from his desk and pulling me into his arms.
"Luna Seraphina kept me company," I replied, settling into his embrace. His heartbeat was strong and steady against my ear.
We sat down together on the leather couch near the window, and I told him about encountering Caleb and Emma.
"I noticed them spending time together a few days ago," Jace admitted, running his hand through his dark hair. "But I didn't want to jump to conclusions. They both needed time to heal."
"They'll be good for each other," I said, leaning against his shoulder. "They understand each other's pasts in a way few others could."
"Exactly what I thought," Jace agreed, pressing a kiss to my temple. "Sometimes shared pain creates the strongest bonds."
I stayed with him until he finished his Pack business, then we went to the hallfor dinner. Aurora was playing in her new room, which she absolutely adored.
After dinner, we took a family walk under the moonlight, then Jace and I went to the training grounds for a short training session.
By the time we returned to our room, we were both exhausted. As I drifted off to sleep in Jace's arms, I wondered how different life would be once I became the Luna of the Primal Wolf King.
