The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 110
ARIA
The engine's rumble knocked me out cold. After yesterday's chaos - fighting rogues, treating the wounded, and packing everything up - I was completely drained.
Something warm touched my cheek. I ignored it at first.
"Aria," Jace's deep voice murmured. "Wake up, baby. We're almost there."
I forced my eyes open, squinting against the sunlight. Jace was driving beside me, his hand just leaving my face. In the back, Aurora and Atlas were still passed out in their car seats.
"How long was I out?" My voice came out scratchy.
"Most of the trip," Jace said, eyes on the road. "You needed it.
I straightened in my seat, fully alert now as we turned onto a winding road that cut through dense forest. The trees suddenly gave way to reveal a quaint town nestled in a valley, complete with shops, a school, and what looked like a coffee shop.
My breath caught in my throat. "This place is beautiful, Jace."
"Yeah," he said. "I mean, our old territory was great, but look at this landscape. Lakes, waterfalls, vast forests."
We drove through the town and into what appeared to be a more upscale area. The houses grew larger, more elegant. Then, rising above the treeline, I saw it – an actual castle, ancient and imposing, with a massive structure beside it. Several large homes dotted the surrounding area.
"That's the packhouse," Jace explained, following my gaze. "The castle belonged to the previous Alpha's bloodline for generations. Now it's ours."
"It's incredible," I whispered, unable to tear my eyes away. "How is this place hidden from humans?"
"Ancient protection magic," he said simply. "To outsiders, this area looks like impassable mountains and dangerous terrain."
We continued driving until Jace turned onto a private driveway. The car stopped in front of a stunning white two-story house with floor-to-ceiling windows. Behind us, Gabriel pulled up with Lucas and Eliana in the second vehicle.
"Welcome home," Jace said, squeezing my hand. "Nice to have our own private space, isn't it? I hope you like it."
I stared at our new home, momentarily speechless. Through the large windows, I could make out glimpses of marble flooring and pale oak accents. The garden surrounding the house boasted flowers, trees, and even a small pond.
"The top floor has five bedrooms, each with its own bathroom," Jace continued. "The main level has the kitchen, living room, media room, and a playroom for the kids. There are two offices too, one for each of us."
I turned to him, my heart full. "I love it, Jace. And I love you."
His eyes softened as he leaned over to kiss me quickly. "Let's wake the children and show them their new home."
The sound of car doors opening and closing woke Aurora, who rubbed her eyes sleepily. "Are we there yet?"
"Yes, princess," Jace said, unbuckling her car seat. "We're home."
I carefully lifted Atlas from his seat, cradling him against my chest as we approached the front door. Jace unlocked it, stepping aside to let me enter first.
The entryway opened into a spacious hall with natural light pouring in from everywhere. Aurora gasped beside me.
"Wow," she breathed, her eyes wide.
"This is our house?" she asked, turning to Jace.
He knelt down to her level. "Yes, princess, it is. Do you like it?"
"I love it, Daddy," she squealed, bouncing on her toes.
Gabriel, Lucas, and Eliana joined us, carrying bags and supplies. Atlas stirred in my arms, making small fussing noises.
"This door leads to the kitchen," Jace said, pointing as he began our tour. "Next to it is the dining room. Over there is the media room, and that's the playroom for the kids. At the end of the hallway, the first door is the living room, followed by two identical offices – you can choose whichever one you prefer."
"This looks amazing," I said, taking it all in.
"Let's go upstairs and find your room," Jace said to Aurora, who nodded enthusiastically.
We climbed the central staircase, Atlas now fully awake and alert in my arms.
"The double doors at the end of the hall lead to the master bedroom," Jace explained. "The last door on the left is the nursery. The last one on the right is Aurora's room. The rest are guest rooms. One will become Atlas's when he's older. The nursery will remain close to the master bedroom until then."
"I want to see my room!" Aurora exclaimed, tugging on Jace's hand.
"Let's go check it out," I said with a smile.
Aurora's room was a little girl's dream – a princess room complete with a large bed just like her old one. The walls were painted with moons of different sizes and colors. She had a desk, a walk-in closet, and a fully equipped bathroom.
"I LOVE my room!" she shouted, running from one corner to another.
"Why don't you stay here with Lucas and Eliana while I show your mom the rest of the house?" Jace suggested.
Aurora was too busy exploring to answer, but nodded absently. We left her in Eliana's capable hands and continued to the nursery, which had been set up exactly like the one in our previous home, providing Atlas with familiar surroundings.
Finally, Jace led me to the master bedroom. It was enormous, much larger than our previous room. Dark wood paneling contrasted with beige walls adorned with deep red patterns. The entire back wall was glass, with four doors interspersed. The bed was massive, made of dark wood with a headboard that extended to the ceiling. A small sitting area with a television occupied one corner, while a large desk of the same wood as the bed sat between two of the doors.
"This house is incredible, Jace," I said, taking it all in. "It's nice to have our own space."
"I thought you'd prefer this," he said.
"I'd be happy anywhere with you and the children," I replied. "But I do love this."
"That door leads to our bathroom," Jace said, pointing. "Big tub, shower with two heads, double sinks. I requested dark but calming tones. The closets are larger than our old ones. Yours has a makeup area."
"What's behind the last door?" I asked, noticing he'd skipped one.
"Come see." He led me through to reveal a small but fully equipped gym. "I wanted to keep this. Every room on this floor is double soundproofed. Once the door is closed, no one can hear in or out."
He pressed against what looked like a regular wall, revealing a hidden door. "This is the safe room. It can only be opened by fingerprints from our core members and the Elder Council. From inside, you can exit using a PIN code, so there's always a way out. I want the children to be safe. The other safe rooms in town and the castle function the same way. The entire pack is on the access list."
"Jace, this is perfect," I said, emotion tightening my throat. "I feel like everything is going to be okay here. Thank you for always working so hard to protect our family. I love you, Jace."
"I love you too, baby," he said, pulling me close. "I'd do anything to keep you safe. You'll fight beside me, and I treasure that. We're a team."
"Yes," I agreed, feeling the bond between us strengthen. "We're a team, and I'll always stand by your side."
