The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 135
JACE
I settle over her, my weight braced on my arms. "Tell me if you need me to slow down," I say, searching her eyes. She shakes her head, hands pulling me closer. "I want all of you. Now."
Her words undo me. I press into her slowly at first, watching her face for any sign of discomfort. Her breath hitches, but she nods, urging me on. I move deeper, a low groan escaping me at the feel of her.
"Fuck, Aria," I mutter, my control slipping again. She clings to me, her nails digging into my back as we find a rhythm. Every movement is intense, raw, a release of everything we've been through today.
Her moans mix with my growls, the room filled with the sound of us. "Jace, harder," she gasps, her voice pushing me further. I oblige, my pace quickening, driven by her need and mine. The tension builds fast, almost overwhelming.
I bury my face in her neck, breathing in her scent as I push us both closer to the edge. "You feel so good, baby," I rasp, my voice rough with effort. Her response is a whimper, her body tightening around me.
"Jace, I'm—" She doesn't finish, her cry cutting her off as she falls apart again. Her release pulls me with her, a rush of heat and relief flooding through me. I groan her name, collapsing against her as the world blurs.
We stay like that for a moment, tangled and breathless. My heart is still racing, but the storm inside me has finally calmed. I shift to my side, pulling her close. My hand strokes her back gently.
"I love you, Aria," I whisper, my voice raw but certain. She nestles closer, her head on my chest. "I love you too, Jace," she murmurs, her breathing slowing as sleep takes her.
*A day later*
The phone feels heavy in my hand as I answer the call from Luna Brenda, Alpha Sam’s mate. My jaw clenches remembering Sam's smirk when he had Aria pinned against that wall, his claws digging into her skin. The memory alone makes Phantom stir within me, a low growl rumbling in my chest.
"Luna," I answer, keeping my voice low as I move toward my office.
"It's done then?" Her voice is steady, stronger than I expected from someone who's lived under Sam's control for so long.
"Yes. He won't hurt anyone else." I shut the door firmly behind me, needing privacy for this conversation. "I'm sorry it came to this."
She makes a sound—half laugh, half sob. "Don't be. Not for him."
I sink into my chair, rubbing my face with my free hand. The image of Sam flashes through my mind again—not just attacking Aria, but the horror we found in his personal quarters. The journals documenting his "conquests." The photographs. The trophies he kept from females who resisted him. My stomach turns remembering the scent of fear that permeated his private rooms.
"He deserved worse," I mutter, thinking of how quickly his death had been. Too merciful.
"For what he did to those women? To me? Yes." Her voice hardens. "Three pregnancies I lost because of his... activities. Three children that never had a chance to live."
My grip tightens on the phone. Hunter had mentioned rumors about Sam's cruelty toward his Luna, but hearing it confirmed makes my blood boil. The bastard had beaten his own mate enough to cause miscarriages—multiple times. Phantom roars inside me, regretting we didn't make Sam suffer more.
"And that room in the basement," she continues, voice dropping. "Where he'd bring the females, even those with mates. Some came willingly for the status. Others..."
I think of the restraints we found bolted to the walls. The soundproofing. The implements of torture disguised as BDSM equipment. Sam hadn't just been unfaithful—he'd been a predator using his Alpha status to terrorize his pack.
"You don't need to explain." I cut her off, not wanting to make her relive those horrors. "The council has reviewed the evidence. What he did violated every sacred law of our kind."
"My oldest is fifteen," Luna says after a pause. "He'll be Alpha someday, but not yet. Not for years."
I lean back in my chair, thinking of the polite boy I'd glimpsed during our meeting. Nothing like his father, thank the Moon Goddess. "What will you do until then?"
"Our Beta and his mate will help me run things. When my son turns eighteen, he'll take over."
I tap my fingers on the desk, considering the power vacuum Sam's death will create. Iron Fang territory borders three aggressive packs, and without a strong Alpha, they'll be vulnerable. "Luna, your pack needs protection until then. The Iron Fang Pack is valuable territory."
"What are you suggesting?"
"Let your pack operate under Ancient Moon Shadow protection. You handle the day-to-day, but officially, you're part of my territory."
The silence stretches so long I wonder if she hung up.
"The council won't like it," she finally says.
"The council can deal with it. This keeps your son safe until he's ready, and prevents any ambitious Alphas from trying to move in."
"Alright," she agrees. "But my son remains the heir."
"Agreed. We'll make it official at the next meeting."
"Thank you, my king."
We end the call, and I sit there, mind racing. Sam claimed a witch protected him. That means someone powerful wants me distracted—or dead.
I need to talk with Lucas, Marcus, and Hunter about security for the upcoming Winter Moon Festival.
