I'd informed the patrolling warriors, my father, and Lawrence about our plans. The last thing I needed was causing a territory-wide panic because someone spotted wolves running through the forest behind the castle in the evening. Maddie was waiting by the door, excitement radiating from her.

"Ready?" I asked.

She nodded eagerly. "I've been ready for hours. Lily's practically scratching to get out."

We headed toward the dense forest behind the castle. The night air was crisp against my skin, and the moon hung as a silent guardian above us. The perfect night for a run.

"How are you feeling after everything?" I asked as we walked, my hand finding hers naturally.

"Better now that we're doing this," she replied, squeezing my fingers. "It's been weeks since Lily had a proper run. She's going stir-crazy cooped up in the castle."

I understood completely. Luke had been restless too, constantly pushing at the edges of my consciousness, demanding freedom. The tension from the attack and subsequent heightened security had everyone on edge, wolves especially.

Once we reached the treeline, Maddie immediately began removing her clothes. I tried not to stare, but damn, it was impossible not to. Even after everything we'd been through, the sight of her bare skin still made my heart race.

"See something you like?" she teased, folding her clothes neatly.

"Everything," I admitted. "Every damn thing."

She laughed, the sound pure and beautiful in the quiet night. Then her body began to shift. The transformation was fluid, almost graceful - nothing like the painful contortions many experienced. Within moments, Lily stood before me, her fur gleaming silver in the moonlight.

I quickly stripped and allowed Luke to take over. The familiar sensation of bones reshaping and muscles stretching washed over me. When I opened my eyes again, I was seeing the world through Luke's heightened senses.

Lily took off immediately, darting between trees with impressive speed. I followed, my paws barely touching the ground as we raced deeper into the forest. Luke's joy at running free after weeks of tension and training was overwhelming. *This feels fucking amazing*, he growled in our shared mind.

I had to agree. Watching Lily bound through the undergrowth, I made a silent promise to give her more opportunities like this. She deserved freedom and joy after everything she'd endured.

Suddenly, Lily slowed her pace. I caught up to her, confused by the change. That's when I noticed it - wherever her paws touched, small flowers sprang from the earth. The grass seemed to grow taller, greener in her wake. She was leaving a trail of life behind her.

She approached a massive ancient tree. Its bark was gray and peeling, branches bare despite the season. It was clearly dying, perhaps from disease or age. Lily stopped at its base, and before my eyes, she shifted back to human form.

Maddie stood naked in the moonlight, her body slender and graceful. She turned to me with a smile that filled me with warmth.

"I've learned so much," she said softly. "Not just making things pretty, but how to protect and help the life around us."

I shifted back to human form, grabbing my jeans and pulling them on quickly. I handed her my shirt, which she slipped over her head. It hung to her mid-thighs, and goddamn if she didn't look sexy as hell wearing my clothes.

Maddie approached the dying tree, placing her forehead against its rough bark. She began whispering words I couldn't understand - some ancient language that seemed to flow from her naturally.

The ground beneath our feet shifted. Not violently, but a gentle movement, like the earth itself was breathing. The tree's color changed before my eyes, gray bark turning rich brown. New branches sprouted, leaves unfurling in accelerated growth. Small blossoms formed among the leaves, and around Maddie's feet, the forest floor transformed into a carpet of greenery.

A soft green glow surrounded her, reminiscent of summer sunlight filtering through leaves. My breath caught in my throat. Luke rumbled with approval in my mind. *She's magnificent*, he thought, and I couldn't argue. The power flowing through her was both beautiful and terrifying. What would happen if someone like Magnus got hold of her? The thought made my blood run cold.

When she finally stepped back, the tree stood revitalized, as though centuries of decay had been reversed in moments.

"That was incredible," I said, awestruck.

She joined me on the grass, leaning against my shoulder. "My power is nature itself," she explained. "I can make it fight for me, or I can heal dying things. But there's always a cost. If I use too much in one place, the surrounding nature pays the price."

"My mother's soul healing ability has a cost too," I said quietly. "Sometimes I think the price is her own life force."

Maddie nodded solemnly. "I'm still learning to control it. There's so much more I could do."

I pulled her closer. "I don't want to live in a world without you," I whispered against her hair.

"You never have to," she promised, her voice firm with conviction.

We sat in comfortable silence for a while, just existing together. Eventually, Maddie thanked me for bringing her out. "I know we need to be careful right now. I understand the security restrictions."

"Speaking of places," I ventured, "how do you feel about living in the castle permanently?"

She looked thoughtful. "I love being with you, but I'd like our own territory someday."

"We could renovate my grandfather's old house. Or build something new."

"What would you prefer?" she asked, running her fingers through my hair. "Something traditional or modern?"

I considered this for a moment. "Whatever makes you happy. I just want it to be ours."

She smiled softly, squeezing my hand. "If we have our own house, I want it to truly be ours, with our own family imprint."

"Family imprint?" I asked, my heart racing at the implication. "Are you thinking about pups?"

She blushed beautifully. "Not right away, but someday. Don't you want that?"

"With you? Absolutely." The image of Maddie round with my child sent a possessive thrill through my entire body.

My heart swelled at her words. Our own family. Our own home. Our future together. I carried her back to the castle, her weight comfortable and right in my arms. When we reached our bedroom, I placed her gently on our bed.

"I love you, Atlas," she whispered, her eyes heavy with sleep. "Every day I thank the Moon Goddess for making you my true mate."

"I love you too, Maddie. Now and forever." I pulled her against me, feeling her body relax as sleep claimed her.
