I stumbled after Atlas through the dark forest, branches snagging my clothes. My heart hammered. Just one look from him and I turned into a nervous wreck. So embarrassing.

"You gonna tell me where we're going, or should I start screaming for help?" I asked, tripping over a root.

Atlas caught my hand. "Just a bit further. Worth it, I swear."

We emerged into a clearing where stars blazed overhead. Thousands of them! Never saw this many back home. Atlas sat on a fallen tree and pulled me down beside him.

I belonged with Atlas. The certainty hit me hard. His past didn't matter. Who he'd been with before? Whatever. I was his future, he was mine.

When he kissed me, something wild woke up inside. I kissed him back harder than I meant to, and when he pulled away, a small whimper escaped my throat. God, could I be more obvious?

"Not tonight," he whispered, his thumb tracing my lip. "Your father and pack arrive tomorrow. You'll need energy to help them settle. The marking would drain you too much."

I nodded, even as my body screamed in protest. "You're right. Thank you for thinking of me."

My smile against his neck was answer enough.

The next morning dawned bright and clear. Today was the day—my father and his surviving pack would arrive. I woke early but still arrived at the tent site later than planned. My siblings had come to help too.

I spotted Atlas immediately. He stood with his mother, checking the final preparations. My heart did that ridiculous flutter thing again. Fifty-six tents, all properly set up with bedding and essentials. The Ancient Moon Shadow Pack had gone above and beyond.

Atlas sensed me before I was even close. He turned, eyes finding mine across the field, and met me halfway with a kiss.

"Hey, beautiful," he said, grinning.

"Hi. Sorry we're late," I replied, feeling my cheeks warm.

"Don't worry. We're pretty much done. Mom wanted to make this place comfortable for everyone."

I thanked him for everything his family and pack were doing. The gratitude swelled in my chest until I could barely speak. These people owed us nothing, yet they'd prepared so thoroughly.

"We'd do this for any pack in need," Atlas told me. "This is how our world should be—helping each other."

I kissed him, trying to pour all my love through our bond. I was ready for our life together.

With preparations complete, we waited for the pack's arrival. Mom announced that their planes had landed and buses were on their way. She'd gathered fifty warriors to welcome them.

The buses arrived, and Dad and Alpha Louis stepped out first, each embracing their mates—Mom and Jane.

"Everything ready?" Dad asked, scanning the area with that Alpha gaze that missed nothing.

"Yes," Mom answered confidently. "Everyone's prepared to help them settle in."

The wolves disembarked one by one, families huddling together. The settling-in process took hours. Mom collected lists of needed items—clothes, toiletries, essentials. I wanted Maddie's people to feel welcome, to know they had a real home here now.

Luke, my wolf, practically howled with joy inside me whenever Maddie came near. She moved efficiently among her people, comforting, directing, helping. A natural leader. My future Queen.

After everyone was settled, we walked with Louis to see where his family was staying. He still didn't know Julie had awakened or that her destined mate was a woman.

As we entered, Julie and Gina descended the stairs together. Julie walked slowly but steadily, her hand clutched in Gina's. They both glowed with that unmistakable new-mate energy. Fresh marks stood out clearly on both their necks—the claiming bites still pink and healing.

Louis froze mid-step. His mouth opened but no sound came out. I glanced at Maddie, who bit her lip nervously.

"Julie?" Louis whispered, reaching toward his daughter. His eyes moved from their joined hands to the marks on their necks, understanding dawning.
