The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 105
ARIA
God, I hate checkups. Three weeks after giving Atlas birth and the smell of the Healing Center still makes me tense. At least this should be the last visit for a while.
Dr. Maya greeted us with her usual professional smile. "There's my favorite little patient."
She took Atlas gently, laying him on the examination table. Her hands moved with practiced precision, checking his reflexes, listening to his heart, examining that small crescent mark on his shoulder.
"Perfect health," she announced finally. "His development is exactly where it should be. Maybe even a bit advanced."
"He's eating well," I said, watching Atlas grab for Dr. Maya's stethoscope. "And most nights he sleeps straight through."
"Quite the adaptable pup," Dr. Maya chuckled as Atlas cooed in response. "Most Alpha offspring are much fussier. You got lucky with this one."
When she finished with Atlas, Dr. Maya turned her attention to me. "And how about you? Any discomfort, unusual bleeding, dizziness?"
"Nothing. I feel strong again."
She performed a quick examination. "Your recovery has been remarkable. Human mothers typically take longer."
I hesitated before asking the question that had been burning in my mind. "Does that mean I can start training again?"
Dr. Maya nodded. "I see no reason why not. Just ease into it. Your body has been through significant changes."
"What about the pack's migration? Is it safe to travel with Atlas so young?"
"He'll be fine," she assured me. "I'll be traveling with you and Alpha Jace, monitoring both of you every step of the way."
Relief flooded through me. Getting back to training, being useful to the pack again—I needed that.
The walk back to the packhouse took longer than expected. Every few yards, someone stopped us, eager to see Atlas. The pack's future Alpha. The child touched by the Moon Goddess.
"He has Jace's eyes," said one older female, peering into the bundle in my arms.
"But your determination in his face," added another.
I smiled politely, but kept walking. We hadn't told anyone about the prophecy yet. Jace wanted to consult with Elder Thorn first, understand what it might mean.
Gabriel was leaving just as I reached the packhouse entrance. His weathered face brightened when he saw us.
"My little star," he said, wrapping one arm around me in a careful hug. "And my grandson."
My heart swelled as it always did when he claimed Atlas as family, bloodlines be damned.
"Early meeting?" I asked.
Gabriel nodded. "Discussing travel arrangements for the Gathering. Quite the logistical challenge moving an entire pack."
"Dr. Maya cleared me for training again," I told him, unable to keep the excitement from my voice.
His eyes crinkled with pride. "That's wonderful news. Just don't overdo it. And remember, if you need help with little Atlas—"
"I know where to find you," I finished with a smile. "Right now, I need to get this one down for his nap and make sure Jace eats something."
Gabriel kissed my forehead, then Atlas's, before continuing down the path.
Upstairs, I laid Atlas in his crib, watching until his eyes fluttered closed. Then I headed to the kitchen. The space was chaotic with preparations for the upcoming journey, but I managed to assemble a simple meal for Jace.
Balancing the tray, I made my way to his office. Voices from inside made me pause. The deep, authoritative tone could only belong to Alpha Marcus.
I knocked lightly with my foot before pushing the door open with my shoulder.
Both men rose instantly, their serious expressions melting into smiles.
"Oh! Didn't realize you had company," I say, caught off guard.
Jace smiles. "Hey baby, come in. Marcus came to help with move planning."
"Sorry I didn't know you were here, Alpha. I would've brought food for you too."
Marcus waves dismissively. "Call me Marcus. It's perfectly fine."
An Omega server brings him food as I set Jace's tray down.
"Looks great, thanks," Jace says. "What did Maya say?"
"Everything's good. Atlas can travel, and I can train again."
"That's great news," Jace replies, his eyes warm.
The Omega returns. "Luna, would you like lunch on your floor?"
"Yes, thank you," I reply, suddenly eager to check on Atlas and start training.
After lunch, I change into training clothes and enter our private gym. Will I still have the same strength? The same speed? Being human-born with a gifted wolf spirit has always made me different. Not fully human, not fully wolf—something in between.
Sage stirs within me, sending confidence through our connection. I start on the treadmill at a slow pace, gradually increasing speed until I'm running like before pregnancy.
Moving to the punching bag, I find my rhythm. Jab, cross, hook. Each strike feels like coming home to myself. I lose track of time until I hear the door open.
JACE
Something tugs at my focus while discussing boundary markers with Marcus—a warm energy pulsing through our mate bond. Aria.
"Sorry," I say, blinking. "Got caught in the matebond feelings."
Marcus smiles knowingly. "I understand. New pups will do that."
"It's amazing though."
"Oh yes, it is."
I feel Aria's excitement spike. "She's in our training room. She's missed it."
"I hope I see her fight someday," Marcus says. "Heard she's quite impressive."
Pride fills my chest. "She's extraordinary. You wouldn't know she was born human."
"Mind if I see her train?" he asks. "Curious about this human Luna who's impressed so many Alphas."
"We can go up. Just remember she hasn't trained for months."
"Of course."
We find Aria attacking the punching bag with fierce precision. Each strike powerful, methodical. Her movements blend human technique with wolf power—Sage's gift making her something unique.
She turns, surprised to see us.
"You're amazing, you know that?" I tell her, unable to hide my pride.
"He's right," Marcus adds. "If this is you after giving birth, I can't wait to see you at full strength."
"Thank you," she replies simply.
Atlas's cry interrupts the moment.
"Go shower, baby. I'll take care of him."
Aria smiles gratefully. "Thank you."
As she leaves, Marcus watches her go with newfound respect.
"The Moon Goddess chose well," he says. "A warrior Luna for a warrior Alpha."
I nod, thinking how perfectly she complements me. Human or wolf, it doesn't matter. She's exactly what I needed—what our pack needed.
