The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 249
MADDIE
I opened my eyes, feeling the softness of the blanket beneath me. My top and bra were missing, and Atlas's hand had just moved away from my jeans. My cheeks burned instantly as reality hit me.
But when I saw Atlas put his fingers, still wet with my essence, into his mouth and growl with satisfaction, I forgot to be embarrassed. His eyes darkened with desire as he savored my taste, his throat working as he swallowed. The hunger in his expression sent shivers down my spine.
He licked them clean, then kissed me deeply, letting me taste myself on his tongue. The thought should've mortified me, but it sent a rush through my body instead, making my nipples harden against his chest.
"I'll never get enough of your taste," he whispered, his voice husky against my ear. "You're my favorite scent now."
He rolled us to our sides, pulling me close against him, my bare chest pressed to his body. I could feel every hard plane of his muscles, every breath he took. His hand caressed my face, his eyes gleaming with that wolf-like intensity. My body still tingled from his touch, sensitive and wanting more.
The heat of his skin against mine was intoxicating, making it hard to think straight. His thumb brushed over my bottom lip, and I couldn't help but take it into my mouth, sucking gently. The deep rumble in his chest told me he enjoyed it. When his eyes flashed that bright blue, I knew Luke—his wolf—was close to the surface, watching me, wanting me. God, how did he make me feel so safe yet so excited at the same time?
"What if someone walks by?" I worried suddenly, glancing around.
"Don't worry," Atlas assured me. "My senses tell me no one's nearby. I've been staying alert."
I yawned, exhaustion suddenly washing over me. Atlas chuckled, the sound deep and warm against my ear.
"Better get you dressed and home so you can rest," he said.
"What about you?" I asked, not entirely sure what I was asking.
"I have some work to handle for my father," he answered. "But I'll come see you after you've rested."
"That's not what I meant," I said quietly, unable to look him in the eye.
"I know what you're worried about. Don't worry about me," he kissed my forehead. "I can control my urges."
He helped me into my bra and top, his movements gentle yet protective. His fingers occasionally brushed against my skin, each touch sending electricity through me. Once dressed, he helped me stand, grabbed the blanket, and we returned to his motorcycle.
Back at my house, Atlas helped me off the bike and kissed my forehead again. "I'll see you in a few hours," he promised. I watched him ride toward the garage before heading inside. Mom and Blake noticed my tired but satisfied smile.
"Someone had a pleasant morning with her mate," I heard Mom tell Blake. He chuckled knowingly. I pretended not to hear as I headed upstairs.
ATLAS
Back at my quarters, Maddie's scent still lingered on my lips. Damn, she tasted better than I'd imagined. My body ached with desire, wolf instincts making my need almost painful. My erection strained against my pants, demanding relief after being so close to her. I stripped and jumped into a cold shower to calm the beast raging inside me.
Luke growled in my mind, urging me to go back and complete the marking. The memory of her soft moans and the way she arched into my touch made my cock throb painfully. But I couldn't give in. She wasn't ready, and I respected her feelings more than my own needs. Her moans had nearly pushed me over the edge, but I wouldn't do anything she wasn't prepared for.
Standing under the cold water, I closed my eyes, wrapping my hand around myself. I remembered Maddie's sounds, the sweetness of her release, and her scent on my fingers. I could still feel her soft skin beneath my hands, the way her nipples had hardened at my touch.
When she'd sucked my thumb into her mouth, I'd almost lost it right there. The innocent gesture had sent fire through my veins, making me want to claim her in every way possible. Luke growled in my head again, this time in approval as my hand moved faster.
"Damn," I groaned, leaning against the shower wall after finding release, Maddie's name on my lips.
After cleaning up, I pulled on dark sweatpants and a tribe-emblazoned t-shirt, heading to the castle library. I typed "werewolves with special abilities" into the computer, hoping to find information about Maddie's unique gifts. I sensed her wolf had powers I'd never encountered before.
I found a promising book and took it back to my room. I'd read it tonight after finishing my father's tasks and seeing Maddie again. Just thinking her name made my heart speed up.
I left headquarters for the training grounds, finding Marcus and Lawrence deep in conversation.
"Atlas, how was your morning?" Marcus asked, a knowing smile playing on his lips.
"Good, thanks," I answered, ignoring his implication. "Sorry I took longer than expected."
"Don't worry, getting to know your mate is important," Marcus patted my shoulder. "Besides, Lawrence and I handled things here just fine."
I asked about the settlement progress, eager to change the subject away from Maddie and me.
"We've set up temporary tents for the warriors," Marcus explained. "But we thought women, pups, and elders would be more comfortable in the great hall. We're installing movable partitions there for privacy. Our own warriors rarely use it anyway since training happens outside."
I nodded my approval. This aligned with werewolf traditions of protecting the vulnerable. "Good thinking. Will it be ready tomorrow?"
"Definitely," Lawrence assured me.
"Great work," I said, helping organize everything from housing arrangements to food supplies.
The day passed quickly as I focused on pack matters, but Maddie remained in my thoughts. As mid-afternoon approached, I headed back to the castle to change before seeing her again.
I picked out a deep blue shirt I knew she'd like, with only one thought in my mind: her smile was worth everything. I dressed quickly, then checked myself in the mirror. The bright afternoon sun streamed through my windows, bathing my room in a soft amber glow as I prepared to return to her.
"Let's go see our mate," I whispered to Luke, who rumbled in agreement inside my mind.
