I woke up staring at Maddie sleeping in my arms. Her chest rose and fell with each breath, hair splayed across my pillow. Something fierce and instinctive surged through me as I watched her.

*I would do absolutely anything to keep her happy and safe,* I thought. Suddenly I understood exactly how my father felt about my mother all these years.

*Thank you,* Luke's voice rumbled in my head.

I knew what he meant. He was thanking me for accepting my bond with Maddie, just as he had with Lily. Our wolves were connected too.

I carefully pulled the blanket down slightly and froze. The mark on Maddie's neck wasn't like any I'd seen before. It wasn't the usual black or red mark most wolves had. This was colorful and lifelike - showing our wolves and primal forms, a full moon, surrounded by flowers and leaves. The fur colors, green leaves, yellow and white flowers - every detail was vivid and real.

Holy shit. What does this mean?

I stared at her for hours, not wanting to move. When Maddie finally stirred in my arms, I smiled down at her.

"Good morning, beautiful," I said softly.

Her cheeks instantly flushed pink. "You didn't sleep?" she asked, voice husky from sleep.

"No, I just relaxed watching you." Her face turned even redder at that.

Then her eyes landed on my neck and widened. She reached out tentatively and touched my mark with gentle fingers.

"I've never seen or heard of a mark like this," she breathed, tracing the pattern.

"Me neither," I admitted. Nothing in any book or elder's story mentioned colorful marks.

"It's so beautiful and special," she whispered, wonder filling her eyes.

We lay quietly for a while until Maddie broke the silence. "What happens now?"

I smiled. "Now, I hope you'll move in with me." My heart pounded stupidly. We'd marked each other, but I still felt nervous asking.

"Of course I will," she answered without hesitation, making relief wash over me.

I told her about officially introducing her to the pack in a few days. Then her stomach growled loudly, making us both laugh.

"Hungry?" I asked as she nodded sheepishly.

"We can go to your place so you can change, then head to my parents' for dinner," I suggested. "My mother invited your family too."

"That sounds perfect," she smiled.

Hours later, we were showered and ready to go. I wore dark jeans and a button-down shirt, making sure my new mark was visible. Maddie wore her clothes from yesterday, looking slightly uncomfortable.

We drove to her family's cabin, and I waited while she went upstairs to change. When she returned wearing jeans and an off-shoulder top that displayed her mark, my mouth went dry. Damn, she was beautiful.

At my parents' house, we walked into the main hall hand in hand. My mother hugged us both, but her face registered shock when she saw our marks, though she said nothing directly.

Everyone noticed the unusual marks. Jane said in surprise, "It's beautiful, so special. I've never seen anything like it."

My mother nodded. "Neither have I. But it's beautiful."

I looked toward my father, waiting for his reaction. He'd been quietly observing, not seeming as surprised as the others.

"A true King is extremely rare in our world," he finally said, his voice steady and authoritative. "The previous two never accepted their mates, so no one knew what their marks would look like. This time it's not just Atlas, but Maddie and her special abilities too. So this extraordinary mark makes sense."

The room grew quiet. Maddie looked at her parents, clearly confused and worried.

"They didn't tell me, dear. Neither did Atlas," my father told Maddie.

"But how did you know?" I asked, equally surprised.

My father smiled slightly. "You may be the true King, my son. But I am the Alpha and King of this land, this pack. I felt it that night when she manipulated the earth. I knew it wasn't you. I know your powers. But this power still had a slight connection to you, so I knew it had to be her."

Maddie lowered her head. "I'm sorry."

My father shook his head. "Don't say that. We know having special abilities is beautiful but can also bring fear and difficulties. No one here will tell anyone. That's up to you and Atlas. You have this family's support."

"Thank you," Maddie said softly, visibly relaxing.

My mother clapped her hands. "Enough of this. We're celebrating not only Atlas and Maddie's mating but also Julie waking up and both her and Gina finding their second chance at happiness."

Everyone moved to the dining room, the atmosphere lightening with each step. My sisters immediately flanked Maddie, bombarding her with questions about France and her family. She handled their enthusiasm with grace, making me swell with pride.

"Your sisters are intense," Maddie whispered when they finally gave her breathing room.

"They've been waiting for you a long time," I replied, kissing her temple. "We all have."

Dinner was a blend of chaos and harmony - plates passing, laughter erupting, stories flowing. I watched Maddie interact with my family, fitting in perfectly despite her initial nervousness. Her father discussed territory arrangements with mine while her mother and mine exchanged healing techniques. Even Julie seemed alive again, her hand intertwined with Gina's beneath the table.

"How are you feeling about all this?" Lawrence asked me quietly, nodding toward Maddie.

"Complete," I answered honestly. "For the first time ever."

My Beta nodded, understanding without further explanation.

As dessert was served, I noticed Maddie stifling a yawn. The events of the last twenty-four hours had clearly drained her energy. I squeezed her hand gently.

"Ready to head home soon?" I asked.

The word 'home' made her eyes shine. "Our home," she whispered.

I led Maddie to the balcony as the night deepened, wrapping my arms around her from behind. She leaned against me, fitting perfectly, as we gazed at the full moon hanging low over our territory.

"I never imagined this is where life would lead me," she murmured.

I turned her in my arms, pressing my forehead against hers. "This is just the beginning. The moon has blessed us with power and purpose, but what matters most is that we found each other."

Maddie smiled, rising on her toes to kiss me softly, her lips carrying a promise of forever.
