The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 205
AURORA
I shifted uncomfortably on the paper-covered exam table in Dr. Maya's clinic, the crinkling sound impossibly loud to my sensitive ears. Lawrence stood beside me, his warm hand wrapped around mine as Dr. Maya moved the ultrasound wand across my gel-covered stomach.
"Everything looks perfect, Aurora," Dr. Maya said, her eyes fixed on the screen. "Your pup is developing right on schedule." She paused, barely concealing her amusement. "Oh! Interesting... I'm seeing three legs and two arms."
Lawrence's hand clamped down on mine so hard I almost yelped. His entire body went rigid.
"What?" he choked out, his voice jumping an octave higher. "That's not—is that—"
I bit my lip, trying not to laugh at his panicked expression. For such a fierce warrior, he could be so damn adorable sometimes.
Dr. Maya burst out laughing. "I'm joking, Lawrence. No, this pup looks completely normal, just larger than average. But you both come from strong bloodlines, so that's not surprising."
The tension drained from Lawrence's body. He glared at Dr. Maya, but there was no real heat behind it.
"Would you like to know the sex?" she asked, adjusting the wand.
I glanced at Lawrence, who nodded eagerly, his eyes now glued to the screen.
"Yes," I whispered. "We would."
Dr. Maya smiled warmly. "Then I can tell you that you're going to have a strong, healthy little boy."
"A boy?" Lawrence repeated, voice filled with wonder.
My eyes instantly watered. A son. We were having a son. After everything I'd been through, here I was creating a family of my own. A family built on love, not obligation or bloodlines. My hand instinctively went to my barely-there bump.
"I'll give you two a moment," Dr. Maya said, wiping the gel off my stomach. "I'll be right back."
As soon as she left, Lawrence helped me sit up and pulled me into his arms, one hand resting over my belly.
"We have a son," he murmured against my hair.
"Are you okay?" I pulled back, searching his face. "Did you want a boy?"
His eyes met mine, so intense I almost couldn't breathe. "I'm not just okay, beautiful. I've never been happier or more excited. Not because it's a boy—I would have been just as happy with a girl. I'm happy because this is our healthy little pup."
I pressed my forehead against his. "I'm happy too. You've made my life complete."
Dr. Maya returned carrying a small envelope and a USB drive. "I printed two photos so you can give one to your parents. And I made a five-minute video of him for you."
I took the items with trembling fingers. "Thank you, Maya." I hugged her quickly, emotion making my voice crack.
Outside the clinic, Lawrence guided me in an unexpected direction.
"Where are we going?" I asked, confused when he didn't head toward my father's house.
A smile played at the corners of his mouth. "Our new home is finished."
I stopped dead in my tracks. "Finished? Really finished?"
"Yes," he nodded, smiling wider. "It was completed last week. But I wanted to wait until today, so we could go straight there after finding out."
I let out an excited squeal that was totally unbecoming of a princess. "Oh my god! Let's go right now!"
Lawrence led me through the woods to a beautiful two-story wooden structure. Inside, he showed me the spacious kitchen, living room, dining area, a small office, and a guest bathroom downstairs. Upstairs were our master bedroom—complete with a sitting area and luxurious bathroom—and three additional bedrooms with their own bathrooms.
Everything was fully furnished and decorated. I walked through each room, trailing my fingers over surfaces, breathing in the fresh scent of new furniture mixed with the comforting smell of wood. In every corner, I could see touches that screamed "Aurora"—my favorite colors, patterns I'd mentioned in passing, even books I'd loved since childhood. Dad always said I deserved the moon and stars; Mom had apparently tried to capture them in this house.
"Your mother decorated the whole house, including our master bedroom," Lawrence explained as we explored. "But the other bedrooms are still empty."
"I love it," I said honestly, admiring the kitchen's smooth countertops. "Mom knows exactly what I like."
When we reached our bedroom, Lawrence wrapped his arms around me from behind.
"Our master bedroom is a bit different," he murmured in my ear. "Some things match the style of the house, and others have a touch of Italy. She said she wanted us to have a piece of the paradise where we met."
My heart squeezed in my chest. The room was perfect—warm, inviting, with subtle touches that reminded me of those life-changing days in Italy. Days that had started with pain but ended with more love than I'd ever imagined possible.
Back in the kitchen, Lawrence pulled me close again. "We could bring some clothes from the castle and sleep here tonight," he suggested, his lips finding my neck. "Move everything else tomorrow."
I moaned softly as his lips traveled along my skin. I turned in his arms to kiss him properly, my body heating instantly. His hands slid under my shirt, warm against my back, and I pressed closer. My fingers found the button of his jeans, eager to feel more of him, but a familiar voice called from the hallway.
"Aurora? Lawrence? Are you here?"
I laughed softly against Lawrence's lips. "Damn it. I should have known they'd follow us."
Lawrence chuckled, reluctantly pulling away. "It's okay, beautiful. I'll take care of you later. Promise." He adjusted his shirt just as my parents walked into the kitchen.
The next few hours were spent showing them around, watching the ultrasound video, and giving them one of the photos of their grandson. Dad couldn't stop smiling, his eyes suspiciously wet when he thought no one was looking. Mom kept touching my hair, my shoulders, my hands—little gestures she'd done since I was small, reminding me I was cherished even when words failed.
"We're so proud of you both," Mom said, her eyes glistening with tears as she looked at the photo. "Have you thought of names yet?"
I shook my head. "Not yet, but..." I glanced at Lawrence, feeling suddenly shy, "I have one in mind. I'll tell Lawrence later. I hope he'll like it."
Dad nodded, understanding. "Let us know when you decide. Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will be perfect." He squeezed my shoulder, the gesture saying what he always had: his little princess could never disappoint him.
After they left, Lawrence wrapped his arms around me, his eyes curious. "So, you have a name already?"
I smiled, resting my head against his chest and listening to his steady heartbeat. "I do. And I think you'll love it."
