The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 91
Chapter94
**JACE**
Several hours into the drive, I watched Aria beside me. Her eyes were closed, but her breathing told me she wasn't asleep. The conversation with Luna Seraphina still weighed on her mind—I could feel it through our bond.
I reached over and took her hand, feeling her fingers instinctively intertwine with mine. The simple gesture made my chest tighten.
"Come here," I said, gently pulling her toward me.
She shifted across the seat without resistance, settling onto my lap. Her warmth against me felt necessary. The road stretched ahead, Montana still hours away, but with her here, I was already home.
I brushed a strand of hair from her face. "I heard what you and Seraphina were talking about."
Aria's gaze dropped, worry immediately clouding her expression. I placed my finger under her chin, tilting her face up to meet mine.
"Aurora is your daughter," I said firmly. "No one can change that. Not me, not Vanessa. No one."
She was shocked by my words.
"Vanessa abandoned her when she was just weeks old," I continued. "Aurora was too young to understand, but she felt the rejection. That pain doesn't just disappear."
I paused, choosing my next words carefully. "You understand that better than most. The pain of losing your mother hasn't gone away, has it?"
"No," she whispered, the single word carrying years of grief. "It hasn't."
"My pain healed because of you," I admitted. "But Aurora will always know she was rejected by her birth mother."
I stroked her cheek. "But she loves you. You told Seraphina yourself—there's a connection between you two. You risked everything for her, and at some level, her soul knows that."
Aria's eyes glistened with unshed tears.
"Even if Vanessa showed up tomorrow, Aurora's bond with you is stronger than anything she could ever have with her."
A tear slipped down Aria's cheek. She nodded, understanding what I was saying, but I could tell doubt still lingered. I pulled her against my chest, wrapping my arms around her.
"I just don't know if I can handle it," she mumbled against my shoulder, her voice small.
"There is no 'if,' sweetheart. You won't lose Aurora. You won't lose me. Vanessa is the past, and that's where she's staying."
Aria pulled back to look at me. "What if she comes back?"
"Then she can leave the same way she came." My response was immediate. I didn't need to think about it. Vanessa had walked away from us. As far as I was concerned, she could keep walking.
"Are you sure?" Aria asked, uncertainty still evident in her voice.
Before I could answer, Ethan spoke up from the driver's seat.
"When Vanessa left, it wasn't just the Alpha and little Aurora who hurt. The entire pack felt it. We all suffered because our Alpha was weakened."
Ethan glanced at us in the rearview mirror. "But when you arrived, things started to change. Even before your birthday. Alpha's strong—the strongest—but a pack isn't built just on strength. It's built on love too."
He cleared his throat. "Alpha's always been a good leader—the best—and we all felt his love for Aurora. But that love became even stronger after you arrived. He became happier. Nobody really cared that it was because of you. What mattered was that our Alpha found love again, and that love made him and the entire pack stronger and happier."
I watched Aria's face as she took in his words.
"You saved Alpha," Ethan continued earnestly. "Everyone loves you for that. If Vanessa came back, she'd be hated, even though she was born into this pack. You're our Luna now. We love you, and we'll protect you with everything we have."
"Thank you, Ethan," Aria said, her voice steadier now. Ethan bowed his head respectfully.
"He's right," Jaspar added from the passenger seat. "Sure, some people aren't happy about it, but no one can deny it's been better for everyone."
Aria thanked him too, a small smile finally breaking through.
"See? Nothing to worry about," I said, squeezing her hand. "No one is taking me, Aurora, or the pack away from you."
She nodded, and I could feel her starting to believe it.
I watched her process everything she'd heard. It must have been difficult to accept—that an entire pack of werewolves had embraced her so completely. I knew she still sometimes felt out of place, still adjusting to a world she hadn't been born into.
"I know all this," she whispered to herself. "But I can't help being afraid sometimes."
She looked embarrassed by the admission. I understood her fear. She'd been thrown into our world, and now she was helping raise my daughter, becoming my mate, and gaining the respect of my pack. Anyone would be overwhelmed.
I pressed my lips to hers in a gentle kiss, then helped her back to her seat. "We'll stop at the lodge tonight and continue tomorrow. Your father wants to keep going, though. He doesn't want to give those traitors any chance to escape. He won't rest until we're home and they're locked up."
She nodded, settling back against the leather seat, her thoughts elsewhere.

God, my butt was completely numb from sitting so long. Six hours in an SUV with three werewolves? Not exactly my idea of a fun road trip. I listened to Ethan and Jaspar's reassuring words. Their loyalty feels genuine—how they believe I saved Jace, how the pack has grown stronger since I arrived.
*See? You worry for nothing,* Sage whispers in my mind, her confidence wrapping around me like a warm blanket.
My wolf is right. The truth stands in front of me: I'm loved here. The pack has chosen me. Jace and Aurora need me. So I've just put my mind at ease, no more worries.
By nightfall, we reached the lodge. It sat on the edge of human territory, with dense forest stretching behind it. The extra guards Alpha Marcus had sent decided to spend the night in the woods. Ethan and Jaspar grabbed our bags as we made our way inside.
The moment we stepped through the doors, I froze. The scent hit me immediately—werewolves. After months with the pack, my senses had become attuned to the subtle differences. An older woman stood at the front desk, and when she spotted us, her face lit up.
"Robert, they're here!" she called out, hurrying around the counter toward us.
"Jace, you big boy, how are you?" she asked warmly, and Jace's face broke into a genuine smile.
"Martha, it's been too long."
She turned her attention to me, beaming. "And this must be your mate. What a beautiful girl."
I stared at Jace, surprised that this woman knew about us. He caught my confusion and stepped closer.
"Sweetheart, this is Martha and her husband Robert—you'll meet him soon. They were friends of my grandparents and used to live in our territory. They wanted their own place, closer to their daughter and grandchildren."
"Hello, Martha. Nice to meet you." I extended my hand, but Martha pulled me into a tight hug instead.
"Hello, dear, welcome. You must be tired and hungry after your journey. Go up to your rooms and rest. Dinner will be ready in an hour."
"Thanks, Martha. My usual room?" Jace asked.
"Yes, dear," she smiled warmly.
We returned her smile, and Jace led us to the elevator. The elevator climbed to the top floor, where Jace used his key card to unlock the door to a luxurious suite.
