Ashley

The moment we walk into the dining hall everyone quietens down and starts wishing Calvin morning wishes. He smiles wide and motions his hands telling everyone to quiet down and I notice everyone straighten in their seats as if they know that he's about to say something. I've not been in the dining room yet to eat only in the kitchen and I soon find myself taking in everything in sight. The room is massive and holds around 10 tables all covered in white tablecloths, they are seriously long tables surrounded by chairs. The tables and chairs are a light wood colour and remind me of picnic tables.

There's an even bigger table at one end of the room that's a darker wood colour and has a light blue tablecloth covering it that I'm pretty sure is the Alpha and higher-ranking member's table. The walls are painted white and have a few photos scattered around, some of the different places around the world, and some pictures of members of the pack. There is one long metal table that runs across the entire back wall that's covered in a white tablecloth and has several hot plates lined across it that are full of food and to the side of that is some sort of storage unit that has plates, bowls, cutlery, napkins and a wide range of sauces and I watch as the members help their selves to the plates and food.

Off to the other side of the table, there's another metal table but it's not as big as the one holding the food. This one has three coffee machines on it with condiments stacked at the side alongside cups and on the other side of the machine, there are bottles of water and energy drinks. This place is insane and nothing like the dining room that we had back home, it's so much better and it has me speechless which is a first. I feel Jack gently nudge my shoulder and turn to see his beautiful face but before I can say a word Calvin starts speaking and my attention turns to him.

"Good morning everyone. This morning's breakfast will be a little different from normal, but I know that everyone here will be happy with what I'm about to do but first I have some pack business that I need to inform you of." He walks over to the table with the blue tablecloth and tells everyone to take a seat and we all quickly follow his command including a few wolves that were walking around the room. "I know most of you have heard about our Gamma Jack meeting his mate and have even met him." He turns towards us and gives Jack a nod. Jack takes my hand and pulls me up and I instantly feel all eyes on me.

“'For those of you that haven't met my mate yet, I'm pleased and proud to introduce you to Ashley." Jack beams as he looks at me while he talks and the whole room quickly erupts into howls cheers and applause and everyone looks genuinely happy for Jack, for us. "I know that you will all make him feel welcome and help him settle in and I know that he can't wait to meet you all either!" More cheers sound out and I get a full feeling inside that I've not felt in a long time.

"While I have everyone's attention. I have had several members comfort me regarding an incident that happened yesterday involving myself, my mate, and Luke and I just want to inform you all that the issue has been dealt with and there's no one to blame or at any fault here. It was a simple misunderstanding that has been dealt with. I have been informed of several members treating Luke unfairly and I don't want to hear anymore do I make myself clear?"

His Gamma tone booms around the room and quickly has everyone listening at once. A united "Yes Gamma" swarms around the room and makes me feel insanely proud of him and the respect that he gets and fuck if his Gamma tone isn't a major turn-on. Fuck I wonder if I can get him to use that tone in the bedroom now that would be hot!

We both sit back down but Calvin remains standing and soon the room is once again quiet he turns to face me and leans his palms down on the table bringing himself closer to me. "Ashley I'd like to inform them of the situation with Kelly. We are going to need a lot of them to help us and I'd like them to have a fair warning but I'll only tell them now if you're ok with it?"

"Of course, that's fine Alpha." The fact that he could just tell them without saying a word to me but instead asks for my permission first doesn't go amiss with me and if there's one thing that I'm quickly learning about Calvin it's that he gives out respect just as much as he receives it and it only adds to how much of a good guy he is.

He nods before turning back to face everyone in the room and I feel my heart start pounding harder as I wait for him to start talking. Without realizing what I'm doing I reach out for Jack's hand and he quickly tightens his hold and gives me a gentle squeeze. "Now that you've all officially met Ashley I want you to know that before we leave this room this morning I will be officially welcoming Ashley to the pack and you will all be witnessing it but first there is something that I need to tell you."

He takes a deep breath his shoulders rising and falling before he starts talking and I lean into Jack more, his arm wraps around me and he holds me tight as I brace myself for everyone to know what's going on. "This is a rather long story so I'm going to cut it short but tell you all you need to know. Ashley has a younger sister called Kelly, she is 8 years old and living back at his old pack with his mother. Unfortunately, we got word yesterday that his mother is planning on selling Kelly on the black market. A mother is trying to sell her 8-year-old daughter on the black market not giving a fuck as to where she ends up or who she ends up with!" Growls and snarls instantly echo around the room myself and Jack included. There is a shit load of pissed-off wolves and she-wolves in this room right now and yet I feel a weird happy feeling deep inside me.

"Why is she doing this Alpha?" A voice growls out from the first table and I look to see a seriously pissed-off-looking wolf standing up.

"Unfortunately Ashley's mom isn't a very nice woman."

"Pfft, she's a fucking vindictive bitch!" I shout out before quickly covering my mouth with my hand. "Fuck I'm so sorry Alpha I didn't realize I was talking out loud, I thought I was saying it in my head!"

Jack lets out a laugh beside me and I quickly relax when I see a smirk on both Liam and Calvin's faces. "It's ok Ashley." He nods before facing the crowd again.

"As I was saying Ashley's mother isn't a very nice woman and this isn't the first time she's done something to hurt one of her children!" He looks to me for permission and I nod giving him what he wants. "Ashley was on the run because his mother found out he was gay and she along with his previous Alpha wanted him dead for it. They told lies to many packs to help them be captured and they would have killed him if we hadn't found him first and that's why I do not doubt that these rumors are true!"

Again the room quickly fills with growls and snarls so loud that Calvin has to use his Alpha tone to get them to quieten down. "She doesn't deserve to be a mother. I don't care who my children love when they're older as long as they're happy then I'll be happy!" A younger woman sitting at the front shouts out and it's soon followed by a load of agreeing noises from the women in the group. "Unfortunately some people don't know how to be parents but we've got Ashley here with us now and he's surrounded by people who will love him for him and not for his sexuality and once we have Kelly here safe their so-called mother can go to hell for all I care!"

It's clear to hear that Calvin is fighting to hold back his growls but soon cheers fill the room and I watch as his shoulders sag and he seems to relax a little.

"We have someone who works closely with the black market looking for any traces of her but either way we will be facing a battle to get Kelly away from her mother and here safe and I'm personally more than happy to fight for her and to fight beside Ashley!" His words boom across the room and are quickly followed by agreeing nods and words from everyone in the room.

"I want all my warriors to get their fill of breakfast as things are very much uncertain right now and we could need to haul out at any moment once you have finished here I'd like you all to get yourselves sorted and be ready to go at any moment. Now before I let you do just that there is one more thing to do this morning."

He turns to face me with a proud smile on his face. "Ashley, can you please step up beside me?" I stand up and move towards him as panic tries to invade my body.

"Ashley, you have accepted your mate but do you accept this pack as your own?"

"I do."

"Do you accept the position of the Gamma's mate?"

"I do." I know I'm beaming while I answer but I don't care.

"Do you swear your loyalty to always put the interests of the pack above your own?"

"I do."

"Do you swear your loyalty to me as your Alpha?"

"I do!"

"Ashley I am proud to announce you as an official member of this pack and the Gamma's mate!" His words boom across the room once more and I'm beaming. He shakes my hand before pulling me in for a quick hug and pat on the back before I'm pulled back and spun around into my mate's arms and he kisses me hard making me swoon.

The cheers and howls that swarm across the room make my heart race with happiness and I soon find myself being passed around in hugs and congratulations and I quickly feel like I'm at home like this was always meant to be and I love every moment. My dad hugs me telling me how proud of me he is and we're soon joined by Calvin as he manages to get through the crowd.

"Matthew I want you to know that I haven't forgotten about you. Once we have Kelly here safe we can talk about what you would like to do next but please know that there is a home here for you and Kelly if you want it."

"Thank you, Alpha that means more than you know!"

"Hey, darling!" What the? I quickly realize that it's Jack's voice and that he's mind linking me. Fuck yes! "Hey, baby!" I turn my head to see him heading my way beaming, fuck im one lucky wolf! "ALPHA!" Someone shouts across the room. I turn my head to see my uncle Mac heading toward us but the look on his face sends shivers down my spine.

"What is it, Mac?"

"Alpha Tony has tracked Kelly." Oh, thank fuck!

"Please tell me she's still in her pack?"
