"Yesss! I win again!" Kelly bounces to her feet doing her own little happy dance at beating us in monopoly again.

"There's no way you can be this good bubble gum, you have to be cheating somehow," Liam whines. He literally whines like a 4-year-old and it has us all in stitches. He doesn't really care if he wins or loses but Kelly loves when he acts like he's grumpy when he does lose and It's now become their thing. It makes her smile every time and I love him for it.

"Why do you always call me bubblegum?" She stops her dance and walks over to him while she blows a bubble out of her mouth with the strawberry gum that she's been chewing for the last half hour. Honestly, how the girl doesn't know the answer to that question I will never know.

"Because you've always got bubble gum in your mouth silly." I watch the moment she realizes that it was a silly question to ask and I chuckle out a laugh when she throws her head back laughing.

"Your too cute for your own good miss Kelly," Cal laughs out as he starts to get up from the floor. We are in the lounge room on the main floor where Cal, Liam, Jack, and I have played three games with Kelly, and it's been fun, fun that she needed, hell fun I think we all needed especially me.

"Ok princess it's time for bed."

"Noooo, one more game, please!" She gives me her puppy dog eyes while pouting out her bottom lip and I swear I have to fight with myself to stick to my guns.

"Nope, It's your first day at your new school tomorrow and you need to get a good sleep." We finally got her a place in the local school and it will do her good to get back to learning.

"But Ash," She whines out my name almost breaking my attempt at staying firm, but Jack must sense it as he thankfully steps in to help.

"Come on princess time for bed, I'll come and read to you." She quickly realizes that she's not going to win and finally pulls her bottom lip back in before she gives both Cal and Liam hugs and then dives into my arms. I hug her tightly before I place a kiss on her forehead and help her back to her feet.

"Good night Ash, love you!"

"I love you too princess!" She takes Jack's hand and pulls him out of the door excited at getting to hear another epilogue in her book. Jack started reading the harry potter books to her when she first came to live here and she is loving every moment of it and so is he.

"Right I'm off to get a snack," Cal announces heading towards the door.

"A snack sounds good." Liam chimes out jumping up on his feet and heading for Cal.

"A snack always sounds good to you Liam." Liam tries to look offended but his smirk soon takes over.

"I'm a growing boy!" A laugh slips past my lips without me even realizing it as I watch them banter back and forth.

"You laugh but you know you love all of this!" Liam runs his hands over his body while swaying his hips showing off everything he has while winking at me.

"You know it sweet checks," I wink back.

"You coming Ash?" Cal asks once he's stopped laughing.

"No I'm ok, I'm going to head outside for a walk." They both nod then head for the kitchen while I quickly clean up the games then head for the packhouse doors and around the back of the huge building.

My legs suddenly feel like lead as I drag myself across the grass and toward the forest. The days starting to turn into night so the pack lands are fairly quiet as everyone's either settling in for the night, out at a pub looking for tail, or on guard duty.

I stop when I get to the place that has quickly become one of my favorite places to visit on the pack lands and look up to the sky. The sun is slowly being pushed out by the moon as the dark of the night slowly overtakes any light except for the few stars that are already out and shining.

My eyes flick across the sky looking for something and then I see it, that one star that I love to see. Every night since my dad's death there has been one star that stands out, It's bigger and brighter than the rest and I swear that It's my dad looking down on us and that thought always makes me smile.

"Hi, Dad," I murmur as I shift my gaze to the large headstone that's placed in front of an old wooden fence. My dad isn't buried here but it's a shine to his memory, one that I take great pride in visiting and looking after. The headstone is around 4 feet tall and engraved with words that came straight from Kelly's heart.

"Matthew Lee Harris"

"Loving father to Ashley and Kelly"

"We will always love you"

"We will always miss you"

"Our hero"

Such simple words and yet they say a thousand things. I sense him just before strong hands come around my waist to reset on my stomach, Jack then places a gentle kiss on my cheek before resting his chin on my shoulder. "How are you doing darling?"

I lean my head back on his chest then turn and look up at him, he's a fair bit taller than me but in all honestly, I love it. I feel safe when we're like this, him wrapped around my body making me feel loved, safe, and protected. "I'm ok, just wanted to say good night to my dad."

He nods giving me a breathtaking smile before putting his attention on the headstone as he squeezes me a little tighter. The yellow sunflowers that are lined along the bottom of the headstone make me smile. My dad was a manly man in every sense of the word and yet he still had a soft spot for sunflowers. Who would have thought?

"He would love this." Liam's voice pulls my attention away from the flowers as he comes to stand beside Jack and me.

"He would, even if he wouldn't admit it out loud!" A laugh bubbles from my throat at the memories of how he would say that the sunflowers on our floor were mums, of course, I found out that wasn't the case when I was a teenager, and It's been a running joke between us ever since, or it was until he died.

Warmth smoothers one of my hands and I find Liam's hand gently squeezing it with one of his as Jack continues to keep his body wrapped around me. Jack doesn't even show that he's noticed Liam holding my hand because he properly hasn't or if he has he's not bothered by it, he knows we have one incredible bond already and that it's just a friend thing or maybe more like brothers.
