Gamma Jack

Arriving at Ashley and Liam's side I'm curious as to what it is that Liam found, it couldn't be Kelly or I'm sure he would have said. I see them both down on their haunches looking inside what appears to be a dog crate. What the hell?

I kneel next to Ashley only to see that a little girl is sitting in the cage next to a puppy. She only looks about 5 years old, she is filthy dirty, insanely skinny, and looks like she can't even stand. Fuck! my heart pounds as I realize that her eyes are closed and I pray that she's not dead.

Cal quickly appears at my side leans down and puts his fingers through the holes in the cages and checks for a pulse while I feel my own pulse pound away. "She's got a pulse, it's weak but it's there!" He almost cries out with relief.

"Oh thank fuck!" I breathe out. There's a lock on the front of the cage but that doesn't stop Cal as he gets a firm grip on it and yanks it off. The little girl must be out pretty bad as she doesn't even stir and that's worrying.

Cal leans in and scoops her up in his arms then passes her to Liam before he leans back in and gets the puppy handing him to me. The puppy gives me a lopsided look before licking my face causing us all to laugh.

Liam drapes the little girl over one of his shoulders but still, she doesn't murmur. I can't even begin to think about what she's been through but I know that I will be seeing visions of her in that cage for a very long time.

"Give me the pup Jack, I'll get these two out of here!" Liam says to me as he holds out his free hand when noise from the doorway has all of our heads jerking that way.

"It's ok guys it's Simon, Tony, and Freddy. I've had them come and cover you while you get these out of here Liam. keep them safe until we get outside." Cal quickly says.

"Of course Alpha, I will protect them with my life." He doesn't need to say it because we all already know he will just as we all would.

He wishes us all good luck as he heads towards the door where the warriors quickly have him surrounded and move outside with him while I send a silent prayer to the moon goddess and ask her to keep them safe.

"Fucking scum!" Ashley shouts right before he kicks the dog create that they were in. I step up to him and rub gentle circles onto his back to try and help calm him while the grate flies across the room. He turns to me giving me a gentle smile and placing a small kiss on my lips.

"What the..." We both look at Cal as he stops speaking but slowly bends back down to the floor. "Holy fuck!" He spits out.

"What is it Alpha?" My mate asks as we both stare at him.

"There's a door here." Huh, what does he mean there's a door here? Both Ash and I lean down beside him and I shit you not he wasn't lying, there is a fucking square door built into the floor. Who the fuck has something like this in a bedroom?

"It was being hidden by the dog create... Wait what if it was hidden for a reason..." Ashley's talking sense and Cal must think so too as he leaps for the handle on the door and pulls on it hard.

It makes a groaning noise in protest as Cal continues to yank on it but then slowly it starts to open. I move to the other side to help lift it while I see my mate stare at the hole in the floor as my heart pounds away in my chest.

The door makes a loud thump as it hits the bedroom floor and all three of us are soon looking inside the gap. I leap for the gap when I spot ladders attached leading down to the floor. I don't think I actually use any of the steps on my way down I just sort of slide down them and stumble a little at the bottom.

I look around the room as my mate and Alpha make their way down to me but again the room is in complete darkness. We take slow steps forward as our eyes adjust to the dark and soon enough details in the room start becoming more clear.

We keep moving forward past a pile of boxes and some old scrunched-up blankets when sounds suddenly flood my ears. We all stop still and the room appears to turn a corner into another section and I realize that we're not in a room, we are in a corridor that leads to more rooms.

"Get the fuck away from her!" Someone growls out. His voice is loud and firm and I'll admit a little intimidating but that hasn't ever stopped me before, and it won't today either. We stay still listening hoping for some clues when a muffled voice comes to our ears but I'm guessing whoever is talking is inside a room because I can't make out a single word that's being said.

Gamma Ashley

"Get away from her now Matthew or I will kill you right in front of her!"

"Please tell me I'm not the only one who just heard him say my dad's name?" I whisper to the guys.

"I heard it," Jack whispers.

"Yeah me too, it can't be a coincidence," Cal says. I feel my pulse pick up pace as my heart hammers against my ribs. My dad and sister could be in a room just feet away from me, fuck I hope they are.

Cal takes a few steps further down the hall and waits for a few seconds before quickly coming back to us. "From what I can see and hear I think there are three of them." He whispers the moment he gets back to us. "Three of them and three of us plus your dad... I like those numbers," Cal adds.

"But what if it's not them?"

"Either way it sounds like someone's in trouble including a girl so I'm still willing to intervene." Cal's words hit me square in the heart and I know the same happens for Jack as his face goes from uncertain to determined in just mere seconds.

"I'm in," Jack whispers.

"let's go." I lowly grunt out. I pray that my dad and sister are in there but even if they're not there could be another little girl there like the one we found just moments ago and that's enough for us to take the risk without backup.

We quickly fall into line with Cal taking the lead and Jack last. We slowly glide along the wall keeping ourselves as quiet as possible, the closer we get to the room the more my heart picks up pace, I don't scare easy but the thought of not finding Kelly and my dad in that room scares the fuck out of me.

I concentrate on taking deep breaths as we get closer to the room bracing myself for what's to come while praying that we can get in and out of this place with Kelly and dad and with us all in one piece.

Once we are just inches away from the men Cal jumps into the air, shifting into his wolf mid-air, and lands on top of one of the men. I stay in my human form and lunge at the next asshole that tries to take him down while Jack shifts into Taz and sets his sights on the last fucker who suddenly looks very panicked and scared and so he should be, my mate isn't here to play.

Considering how big these men are we appear to be taking them down pretty easily which is the last thing that I was expecting. As soon as my guy is out for the count I check to make sure that Cal and Jack are doing ok and when It's clear to see that they have everything more than under control I storm through the doorway and into the room where they appeared to be looking in.

It was dark out in the corridor but there's a bright light on in here and it knocks me for a moment so I close my eyes for a couple of seconds even though I know I properly shouldn't but if I don't I won't be able to see a fucking thing and will be left blindsided for even longer.

"Ashley?" I hear someone call my name as I slowly open my eyes to adjust to the brightness and I swear it's her but now I'm scared to open my eyes just in case that beautiful sweet voice that I can hear is just a figment of my imagination and not my beautiful sister.

"Son." Fuck that's my dad's voice... they are here!

"Open your eyes darling." Jack's voice is next to reach my ears as he links me and I realize I'm still standing here with my eyes closed, still too scared to open them.

My body jolts back a little as a force crashes into my body shaking me from my pitiful state, my eyes fly open to see my beautiful sister has run to me and is currently wrapping her arms around my waist.

"You came, you found me!" She looks up at me smiling so wide I think her face may crack at any moment but It's the tears in her eyes that really shake me and I'm quick to scoop her up and hold her tight to me.

"I will always find you, baby girl, always!"

"You good Matthew?" Cal asks my dad as I take a moment to look away from my sister whos still wrapped up in my arms and look across the room to my dad, my pounding heart slowing down as I notice that none of them appear hurt.

Cal has shifted back and put on shorts although I haven't got a clue where he's got them from. "I'm good Alpha, thank you so much for coming for my girl!" The gratitude he shows to Cal is heartwarming.

"It was never in question Matthew." Cal walks over to me and gently strokes Kelly's back as Jack strokes her hair. "You ok sweetheart?" She goes shy for a moment nodding her head yes before hiding her face in my neck causing me to chuckle.

"Ok let's get out of here. Ashley, you keep hold of Kelly and we will cover you both. Matthew, you take the back and Jack you take the front." Cal quickly gives out the order. Jack gives a nod of his head and comes to stand in from of us while my dad steps behind us and Cal flanks us while we quickly leave the room and head down the corridor.

We come to the ladder and Cal climbs up first before he leans back down through the hole in the floor as I raise Kelly up so he can take her before both Jack and I follow Jack shifts back into his human form to get up the ladder but shifts straight back into his wolf when he gets in the bedroom.

I let out a laugh when I see Cal standing with Kelly in his arms and one of his hands covering her eyes so she doesn't see Jack while he's completely naked. Good shout Cal! As soon as Jack is back in his wolf, we head for the bedroom door, I take a deep breath when Cal opens the door, and the sounds of fighting swarm my ears.
