Gamma Jack

"I'm sorry, say that again doc?" There's no way he just said what I think he did my mind has to be playing tricks on me.

"Beta Matthew is alive Gamma Jack!"

"You have got to be joking with me!"

"I'm not Gamma Jack, he's here with me now sitting up and talking."

"We're on our way!" I close the link and turn to face my mate. How the fuck do I tell him this?

How do I explain it when I haven't got a fucking clue about what's going on myself.

"Ashley we need to head back over to see Doc, Benny." I try to sound calm and normal but the look on his face tells me that he already knows something is up. "What's going on Jack?" He looks confused and worried and I fucking hate it! "Ash, doc just linked me and... Look there's no easy way to say this so I'm just going to spit it out. Doc Benny linked me and told me that... that your dad is alive."

His jaw almost hits the floor as I watch shock invade his beautiful face. "What do you mean my dad is alive? We've just been to see him, we sat with him for almost 1 hour and there's no way that he was alive when we left!" His voice starts rising as his hands start shaking and I know that if I don't calm him down soon he's going to give himself a panic attack. I step forward and close the small space that's between us before I place my hands on his shaking shoulders and slowly slide them down his arms then take his hands in mine. "Look at me, darling."

He slowly raises his head until our eyes meet and I hate the sight that greets me. "I don't know what's going on but we'll figure it out together ok?" He nods but doesn't say a word. "I'm going to link Cal and Liam to meet us at docs and we'll go from there." He gives me a gentle smile that instantly makes me feel warm as I pull him into my chest and gently rub his back as I open a link to both of the guys.

"Liam, Cal you there guys?"

"I'm here." Cal links me back just seconds before Liam's gruff voice echos through my head and I'm pretty sure that I've just woken him up.

"I'm here, what's wrong brother?"

"Can you both meet me at the docs office straight away?" My voice is urgent and I know that it will have the guys instantly on edge.

"What's going on Jack?" Cal's tone has quickly turned to Alpha and right now it's what I need because I'll be fucked if I know what's going on or how to deal with it.

"Doc linked me just a few moments ago and he told me that Beta Matthew is alive, that he's sitting up and talking to him!"

"You did not just say what I think you did!" Liam shouts out shock laced in every word.

"I don't understand!" Cal grunts out and I just feel relieved that my mate and I ain't alone in this. "That's exactly how we feel, we're heading to docs now to see what the fucks going on!"

They both let me know that they are on their way and I make quick work of pulling my dazed mate along behind me. If Doc is right and Beta Matthew is alive then this is incredible but the question will still remain with how the fuck it happened and if this is some sick joke then whoever has set it up will die a very slow and painful death that I can promise!

Ashley

I feel hot and sweaty, my head is spinning and I'm pretty sure I'm going to throw up any minute now. Surely this can't be real? How the hell can my dad still be alive? I watched them bastards beat him to death and I know that it takes a lot for a werewolf to die but I saw it with my own eyes.

I listened to his last words and watched him take his last breath. I saw him limply dangling over warrior Toby's shoulders as he was carried back to my mate's pack and I sat with him for almost an hour talking and there's no way that he was breathing so how the fuck is he alive?

As my mate pulls me along to doc Benny's office I feel nothing but grateful for having him with me right now because there's no way I'd get there on my own. I'm in such a mess that I don't take in anything around me and only came back to the present when my mate puts his hands on my cheeks and I see his mouth moving but still, it takes me a few moments to be able to hear him.

"Ashley darling." I shake my head and finally hear the words coming from him, his gentle tone and the sparks from the mate bond both cause a shiver to run through my body. "You ready to head inside?" I look around and quickly realize that Alpha Calvin and Beta Liam are both here with us. When the hell did they show up? I've been so lost that I hadn't even sensed their presence or picked up on their scent.

Alpha Calvin steps forward and opens the door as Beta Liam follows him inside. "You ready darling?" I look at my mate's face and my heart tugs hard, how can I feel so much for him in such little time? I could stare at his beautiful face all day but I know that now is not the time for it so I shake myself of those thoughts and focus on my dad and the fact that he could still be alive.

"I'm scared!" I whisper out "I know you are baby but you've got this!" He gives me a reassuring smile but it doesn't change how I'm feeling. "What if he's not alive? What if this has been one massive mistake?"

"I dont know what's going to happen but we'll figure it out together I promise." He steps in closer to me and cups my chin in his hand tilting my head until our eyes meet. "I know we only met today but one thing I know already is that you are incredibly strong, you have shown it so many times today and I know that you'll be strong again when we get inside that room."

Before I even think about what I'm doing I lean into him and place a gentle kiss on his lips "Thank you." He places a gentle kiss of his own on my lips before he pulls back a little and places another gentle kiss on my forehead. He removes his hand from my chin before taking my hand and gently pulling me towards the door that will take us into the room where we left my dad's body not long ago. He pushes open the door and holds it open for me as I slowly make my way inside while keeping my head down and keeping my focus on the white tiled floor.

I know I need to look up but it seems impossible so I muster all the strength that I have left inside my body and slowly raise my head and take in my surroundings but all I see is Alpha Calvin and Beta Liam's backs as they face the bed where my dad was laying when we left. I go to call out to Alpha Calvin but before I can say anything both he and Beta Liam step aside in opposite directions and I take in the figure sitting up on the bed right in front of me, our eyes meet and my heart starts jackhammering so hard in my chest that I think I'm heading for a heart attack.
