Gamma Jack

The last thing that I was ever expecting to see when we got to our room was Luke in my fucking bed. What the fuck is he playing at? Of course, the first time that this ever happens to me would be when my mate is with me. Fuck, Ashley! I drag myself out of my head just in time to see the back of him as he runs down the stairs "ASHLEY!" I shout out his name at least three times but he doesn't even look back and I don't fucking blame him. I would properly do the same!

"Jack, what's wrong I can hear you in my office?" Liam's worried voice booms through my head. I guess my Gamma tone surfaced without me even realizing it. "Ash and I came back to our floor, to our bedroom but when we opened the door Luke was in my fucking bed completely naked. Ashley has run and I don't know where he's gone but this twat is still in my bed!" The words fly through the link so quickly that by the time I'm finished, I swear I'm blue in the face from lack of oxygen even though I wasn't talking. Fuck I don't remember the last time that I panicked like this!

"What the fuck is Luke playing at?"

"I haven't got a clue but I want to rip his fucking head off right now!

"Ok I will go look for Ashley and you deal with Luke but don't kill him, it's a lot of paperwork!" I choke out a laugh at his response, he is one of the very few people who could make me laugh at this moment. "Ok deal. Thank you, Liam. Let me know when you find him, please. Oh and check over by the swirling lake, he likes it there."

"On it!" He closes the link and I drag my ass back to my bedroom. don't kill Luke, do not kill Luke I constantly repeat in my head but the moment I see him still in my bed I forget all my thoughts as anger rushes through my veins and Taz growls out loud causing Luke to jump. "Luke, what the fuck are you playing at?"

"I haven't seen you since the other night so I thought I'd surprise you!" He covers his face with his usual sexy smirk but whereas it was a turn-on for me a few days ago it now makes me want to throw up! "Luke... Look the other night was fun but it was a one-time thing I told you that before it even happened and I meant it plus I've also found my mate now." Most of the pack knows about Ashley but the look on Luke's face right now tells me he doesn't, he looks generally surprised by my news. "You've found your mate?"

"Yes I found him yesterday morning when we went out on pack business, most of the pack already knows so how don't you?"

"When I left here yesterday morning I went to visit my sister over at her pack. I only got back 2 hours ago, and I've not spoken to anyone yet. Shit, Jack, I'm sorry!" He gets out of my bed and makes quick work of getting dressed. I'm good at reading people and knowing when they lie and I'm pretty sure that he's telling me the truth. "I believe you Luke but now my mate's run off, fuck I hope he's ok!" Just thinking about how Ashley must be feeling right now kills me.

"I swear Jack I didn't know. I would never do that to you or anyone else for that matter. This is the first time that I've done it and it will be the last. I don't want to do this to anyone else again!"

"It's fine but I need to go and find Ashley." He quickly leaves my bedroom looking guilty as fuck but I don't have any more time to waste here I haven't heard from Liam yet and I need to find my mate!

Beta Liam

"Tony, have you seen Ashley pass by here?" I've been looking for Ashley for 15 minutes but still, I haven't had any luck. I checked the river as Jack suggested but he wasn't there so I'm now entering the forest to check there, we have warriors on guard duty here so I'm hoping one of them has seen him.

"Hi, beta Liam, Ashley who?"

"Gamma Jack's mate, Gamma Ashley!"

"Gamma Jack's found his mate?"

"Yes, yesterday!" Great no luck here then. His eyes suddenly glaze over as I wait impatiently for him to finish linking whoever linked him I look around but I can't see anyone.

"Beta Liam Tyson just informed me that they've spotted a Rogue over by the southern border, it could be Gamma Ashley!" Fuck! "Tyson who have you found?" I quickly link him before they do anything they shouldn't. "A Rogue Beta but we've got him circled, he can't escape!" Shit! "What's his name, Tyson!"

"Fuck he's managed to run, we are chasing him now Beta he's heading towards the packhouse!"

"Tyson... TYSON!" I call him several times but he's closed the link.

"Jack, where are you?" My tone is tense and he instantly knows that something is wrong.

"I'm just leaving the packhouse what's wrong?"

"Jack I still can't find Ashley and I've just had word from Tyson that they have found a Rogue over by the south border, he managed to escape before they could speak to him and Tyson said he's heading for the packhouse. I tried to link Tyson but he's closed the link. It could be Ashley!"

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!" Jack booms back and I don't blame him.

"I'm going to head towards the southern border from here, you head there too as Tyson said he was heading your way."

"If they lay a hand on my mate I'm going to rip them apart!"

"Everything will be ok brother!" He closes the link without saying another word and I quickly head for the south border.

Gamma Jack

My heart is pounding so goddam hard and I swear if anyone hurts a hair on my mate's head I will rip them apart, I don't care if they are pack members they will suffer! fuck why didn't I just leave Luke there and chase after my mate? What was I thinking?

I'm praying that it is a Rogue that they are chasing and not my mate because if it is him well fuck I can't even begin to imagine how he's feeling or how scared he must be.

"We need to find mate... NOW!" Taz bellows in my head and I'm right there with him as I quickly pick up speed and start heading for the southern border. I keep my ears open praying that I can pick up something just anything from my mate that'll let me know that he's not the one that they are chasing but I can't hear a thing. This forest is never quiet during the day but of course, the one time that I want to hear some noise the place is completely goddam quiet!

I keep pushing forward using every inch of my werewolf strength until finally, I can see movement in the distance. I slow down my pace a bit as I can see someone heading my way and my instincts are telling me that it isn't my mate, it's a Rogue, and it's still running from the warriors. I feel insane relief that it's not my mate that's being chased down but still, it doesn't make me feel much better because I still don't know where my mate is and it fucking torture. I run for the nearest tree and hid behind it and soon the all-familiar stench of a Rogue hits my senses and I have to swallow back the bile that's trying to rise in my throat. I don't have a personal problem with Rogues, I only ever go after the ones that hurt others but the smell of their scent is awful and always makes me want to throw up. "Liam it is a Rogue, it's not Ashley!" I quickly link him not wanting to miss the Rogue passing me. "Ok brother I'm still looking for Ashley, we will find him, Jack!" I send him an agreeing noise but quickly close the link as a figure approaches me but before he has a chance to see me I dive out from behind the tree and tackle him to the floor, pinning him down as I watch the warriors quickly approach us.

"Gamma Jack." Tyson nods my way as he approaches us followed by Shaun, Mason, Richard, and Sally all sweating like dogs and panting like them two. This Rogue must have been quick because these warriors are among our fastest warriors and they were struggling to catch him. Tyson and Mason grab the Rogue by his arms and bring him up until he's on his knees in front of me while mason moves his hands and holds them behind his back.

"Look at me." My Gamma tone booms across the forest as I look down at the guy on his knees. I don't have time to deal with this shit I still need to find my mate and every second I waste here is another second that I'm without my mate and I hate it. He looks up and stares directly at my face but avoids eye contact and I don't know whether to punch him for the lack of disrespect that he's showing me or respect him for having the balls to do it. "Who are you? What are you doing on these parklands?"

"Are you the Alpha of the claw moon pack?"

"I am the Gamma to the claw moon pack, now answer my question. Who are you? And what are you doing in these parklands?

"I don't mean any harm to anyone. I am here to look for my boyfriend. I've left my pack to be with him but I've been unable to contact him so I decided to just turn up and surprise him." I get a weird feeling while he speaks, I feel like he's telling me the truth but maybe not the full truth.

"If that's the case then why sneak around and go through the forest? Why didn't you just arrive at the packhouse and ask for him?"

"I don't know I guess I was worried that I wouldn't be believed and would be sent away. I guess I thought that this way I'd have a good chance of seeing him first." Again something seems off.

"If you want me to believe you then I need a name. I need your boyfriend's name so that I can confirm your story." He stays quiet for a few seconds which doesn't help my concerns before he finally speaks. "His name is Ashley Harris."
