Bethany: His Little Wolf Chapter 84

Ashley

As we arrive at the entrance to the hospital I feel my heart rate pick up its pace, my hands are clammy and in all honesty, I'm scared. I'm scared of facing the reality of my dad being dead, I'm scared of saying goodbye to him, and more than anything I'm scared of never seeing him again. Jack opens the door and pulls me inside he hasn't let my hand go since we left the packhouse and I'm grateful for it. We walk down a long corridor the walls are pristine white while one of the lights above our head flickers as the familiar smell of a hospital hits my nose and I want to gag,

We stop at a door and Jack knocks on it before looking at me with a beautiful smile, I go to talk to him but the door opens, and out walks an older man he has been at least 60 years old, his salt and pepper hair is long enough that it's tied with an elastic band and his huge glasses rest at the end of his long nose but his smile is comforting and he instantly makes me feel more at ease before he's even said anything.

"Ash this is doc Benny and he's the one that has been looking after your dad," Jack's voice is soothing to my ears and helps me relax a little more. The doc steps toward me and holds out his hands with an encouraging smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Gamma Ashley, I want to offer my deepest condolence regarding your dad and I want to assure you that your dad has been given the best care and I have a nurse sitting in with him so he hasn't been left alone since his arrival." He shakes my free hand as he talks to me and I can feel his kindness pouring out of him.

"Thank you, Doc Benny, I really appreciate that!"

"Would you like to see him?"

"Yes please."

He nods his head before walking past us and heading down another long corridor, I tighten my grip on Jack's hand as we get closer to my dad resulting in Jack giving my hand a gentle reassuring squeeze and a caring smile. "You've got this baby." He whispers to me as doc stops outside of a door and I realize I am only seconds away from facing my dad again. Doc opens up the door and it groans under the pressure, he steps into the room and I follow him while pulling Jack along behind me still not letting his hand go.

Doc nods toward the nurse that's sitting next to my dad and they both move over to the other side of the room and I apricate the gesture. "Would you like a moment alone baby?" My head automatically turns on hearing my mate's voice but the thought of being away from him right now makes my stomach churn because in all honestly, he's the only thing keeping me going right now. Him and thinking about how

I'm going to get Kelly but right now I can't think of her it's too painful but my mate helps me control some of the pain. "Please don't leave." I sound weak and pathetic right now but I'm passed caring. "I'm here darling." He lets go of my hand but before I can protest he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me in close to his body and between his scent and the sparks from the bond I feel myself relax a little more as I turn to face my dad and start talking to him likes he's still alive.

I know he can't hear me but that doesn't stop me from telling him about Jack and that I still plan on getting Kelly away from my bitch of a mother. I've not even spoken to Jack about my sister yet but I'm not too worried. It may only have been a few hours since I met him but from what I've learned about him so far I know that he'll be by my side and support me in getting Kelly and making sure she's safe. We stay with my dad for over an hour but if I'm being honest I finished saying everything that I needed to over 30 minutes ago I just can't bare the idea of leaving him yet so I just rambled on while Jack continued to hold my hand the whole time.

I don't want to leave but I know I have to so I use every ounce of strength that I can muster up and after placing a gentle kiss on my dad's head I allow Jack to lead me out of the room and away from my dad while I try and figure out how I'm going to live without seeing him and talking to him every day.

Gamma Jack

After we went to see Ashley's dad we started heading back to the packhouse but I noticed that the closer that we got to the packhouse the tenser my mate become and that's the last thing that I want. "Hey how about we go for a run and let our wolves meet?" He gives me a big smile before agreeing and I feel my heart flutter as we head toward the forest. "What is your wolf's name? Mines Alfie." He chirps out as we enter the forest. "Taz and I am warning you in advance that he is a menace!" I shoot back causing him to laugh.

We quickly reach a good spot and I start to remove my top but notice that he doesn't move. "You ok darling?" He nods toward me and then seems to argue with himself before letting out a huff and removing his top. "You sure you're ok?" He starts laughing as he opens the buttons on his jeans while looking straight at me. "Yeah I was just having a moment but Alfie put me back in my place as always." He rolls his eyes but before I can say another word to him he removes his jeans resulting in him standing in front of me in just boxer shorts and I swear my knees almost buckle, fuck he's hot!

A growl rumbles from my chest before I can control it causing Ashley to blush but he doesn't seem uncomfortable so I have no regrets over it because despite how well I've come to learn he can hide his insecurity already I know that underneath he has doubts because of his size so I don't want to hide my want for him from him, I want him to know how much I'm craving him already.

Once we've both stripped down to our boxers we shift into our wolfs and again I'm taken back by his beauty. His wolf is brown and white and considering how small he is it's clear to see that he's of a higher ranking because his wolf is still on the larger side causing Taz to howl in my head with happiness at officially meeting his mate.

Soon we both hand over control to our wolves and Taz cheekily nips at Alfie causing Alfie to chase him, between us running and chasing each other we spend almost 2 hours in our wolf forms before we finally end up at a small steam that we have running through our forest and take back control leaving us both naked and Ashley instantly covering his manhood from me and I'd be lying if I said that I wouldn't mind having a peak but I do get to see his ass and that thing is fucking fine!

I grab us some shorts that we keep hidden in one of the trees and we take a seat on the grass bank overlooking the stream. Ashley sits next to me but it still feels too far away so I grip his hips and hoist him onto my lap so that he's sitting sideways across my lap while I pray that it doesn't make him uncomfortable.

Thankfully for me, he instantly relaxes into me and I find myself grateful for him being smaller than me because it allows me to be able to do this kind of thing and I love it. I love the feel of him in my lap and this close to me. "How are you feeling darling?" He turns his head to face me and graces me with a beautiful smile.

"I'm ok, sad about my dad of course but I'm going to be ok." He continues to look at me and I have to pull myself back before I get completely and utterly lost in his ocean-blue eyes

"Of course, you will!" I lean in and place a swift kiss on his head just before I feel him hum out a content sound and snuggle himself into me more. After our run, we headed back to the packhouse to join the others for dinner. Ashley was very shy, to begin with, but within 10 minutes he was laughing and joking with Liam and Calvin, and hearing his laughter made my whole body warm up. Already I can see a bond forming between my mate and Liam and I love it.

After dinner, a few of the guys decide to head to the games room for a while but I want to spend some time with my mate and get to know him so I turn down the invitation and start heading towards the Gamma floor with Ashley. As we step onto our floor I feel a link coming through and as much as I want to block my link so we ain't disturbed I know I can't without informing Calvin first as being Gamma to the pack holds responsibilities that I can't just ignore. I focus on the link and soon hear doc Benny's voice

"Gamma Jack are you there?"

"Yes doc, is everything ok?"

"Hmm, I'm not really sure how to say this..." He sounds nervous and he's instantly got me on edge.

"What's going on doc?"

"Gamma Jack, Beta Matthew is alive!"
