"JACK!" Cal's bellowing voice drags me back to reality. I haven't heard a word that he has said for goddess only knows how long because my mind has been on Hailey and Coby and how much I want to kill them. I'm sitting in his office with Ashley and Liam plus a few of our top warriors who have been out personally searching day and night for the pair of bastards.

Despite our best efforts Coby hasn't been seen since he handed over Kelly to Hailey. Alpha Colton is also helping with the search for him and that bitch. I don't know why he did what he did nor do I care anymore because there is no reason as to why you would do that to a child but when we find him and we will, he will suffer for it nice... and... slowly.

I also can't figure out how Matthew ended up there. He went to the safe room with Kelly but somehow ended up at the same place where she was being held, hostage. We've spoken to Kelly in the hope that she could give us an answer but she doesn't seem to remember much from that day and we don't want to push her. However, there's a fucking niggling in my head telling me there's more to this than we know and I'm going to find out what it is. I'm going to find out everything.

"Sorry Cal was miles away then."

"Well it's nice to have you back with us, you never know, you may even do some work today!" He has a smirk plastered across his face causing Ashley and Liam to laugh while I greet him with my trusty friend... my middle finger.

"More chance of Liam taking me out on a date than of Jack doing any work today, his heads been up his ass since he woke up!" Ashley chuckles while winking my way.

I mock hurt while holding my hand over my heart. "It hurts that you think so little of me, my mate." I see the look of lust in his eyes at my use of the word mate before he quickly covers it over. "Besides there's no way on earth that Liam is taking you on a date so that's a moot point."

"Moot point my ass! Ash, me you, and a dance floor, this Friday, put it in your calendar." Liam chimes out making everyone in the room laugh.

"For the love of my sanity please don't tease him, Liam. It'll be me that will have to put up with his sulking ass when you don't take him!" I roll my eyes thinking about the tantrum that I know will happen but all it does is make me smile.

In the short time that we've been together and even with everything that has happened, we have quickly learned each other's personalities and small quirks, and fuck if I don't love every single thing about him.

We fit so well together in every single way including in the bedroom. My mate can go from slow and romantic to fast and hardcore in seconds and It's my dream kind of man plus he's always up for experimenting and fuck it's a turn-on. I shift myself in my seat shaking my wondering thoughts when I feel my cock start to harden.

"That's not going to happen because we will be going," Liam tells me.

"Or are you too jealous to allow me to go on a date with the handsome Liam, Jack?" Ashley looks straight into my eyes as he speaks with a challenging tone while his lip turns up slightly at one corner, his cheeky tone turning me the fuck on and he knows it!

"Oh be my guest darling." He gets hot and bothered when I call him darling... two can play that game and It works as I watch his breathing slightly speed up for a moment.

He takes his attention off me and looks over to Liam "I'll see you Friday, Liam," Liam gives him a wink while Cal chuckles.

"Pub Friday Jack?" Cal asks with a huge smirk across his face, he's amused by this conversation.

"Absolutely!" I chime out. I'm not the greatest fan of the pub, never have been if I'm honest but I will go for an occasion or when one of the guys asks me to.

"Ok guys I hate to bring the mood down I really do but we need to get this meeting underway." The moment Cal finishes speaking I feel the entire atmosphere in the

room change and I know everyone else feels it including my mate as his hand slowly comes across the gap separating our chairs and slips into mine giving me a gentle squeeze that I quickly return.

"So any updates guys?" Cal faces Ryder and Jackson two of our best warriors and the guys heading up the search parties.

"Nothing with my group's Alpha. I've got one group back at the hut doing another search. I know it has already been searched but a fresh pair of eyes never harmed anyone and I've got my second group heading further south from the hut searching everything, they won't let a rock go unturned Alpha." Jackson speaks first and It's clear to see that he wishes that he had more to tell us.

"Ok good work Jackson, let me know straight away of any updates." Jackson nods his head agreeing as Cal turns his attention to a waiting Ryder.

"Anything with you Ryder?"

"No, I'm afraid not Alpha. I've got both groups out scaling the forest where we fought with those Rogue twats as we speak but unfortunately, there's been nothing so far."

"Alpha Colton has his men on alert and keeping a lookout for them plus he's keeping two guards watching Alpha Roland's pack at all times just in case either of them turns back up there but so far nothing," Liam growls out his earlier happy mood now truly and utterly forgotten.

"I still don't understand how my dad ended up there and more than anything I don't understand how no one that was in the safe room can remember anything about my dad being in there with them or how he left. It's not a very big room so surely someone had to of seen something?" Ashley's anger is rising and I fucking hate seeing him like this.

"I think I can speak for everyone in this room when I say that we all think and feel the same Ash but I promise you that I will do everything in my power to make sure that we find those assholes and we find all the answers that we need, that you need!"

Cal's tone is no-nonsense while he speaks to my mate and I don't miss the fact that he was careful with his words. He promised to do everything he can to make it happen rather than promising to absolutely make everything happen and I appreciate him for that and I know Ashley will feel the same way.

Cal will never promise something if he knows that there's a chance that he can't deliver it and as much as I hate to admit it we all know that there's a chance that that's exactly what could happen here. We will never give up looking for them but we all know that there's a chance that we may never find either of them, the thought of it makes me want to kill someone but it's still true.

"Ok guys meetings over. Any updates I want to know asap." He reminds everyone in the room before Ryder and Jackson give us all respective nods and head out of the office.

We all stay and chat for a little longer before Cal heads off to see his parents and Liam heads out with a few more warriors to add to the search party. Cal has been amazing with the constant searching and has been sparing as many wolves as possible while still keeping the pack safe.

The Warriors have also been incredible in searching, they have been relentless and not once complained. We have 8 groups but only 4 groups go out at a time, it allows us to keep switching them out so that they can rest as well. They do 8-hour shifts and Liam, Ashley, and myself help as much as we can.

"Weren't we supposed to head out with this group?" Ashley's voice drags me out of my thoughts as we leave Cal's office.

"Yes but Liam offered to take them."

"Why?"

"Because you've had a hard time lately and he wanted you to relax for a little while."

"I don't want him thinking that we are taking advantage of him, he was out searching this morning as well."

"Oh he won't darling, in fact, he didn't just offer, he told me that he was taken them and that we were spending some time together." Ashley gives me that smile of his that always melts my heart leaving me no choice but to kiss him breathless in the middle of the corridor.

"So what are we going to do with our time together?" Ashley looks at me with nothing but love in his eyes as he takes hold of my hand.

"Well we were going to head out for food and a walk but I've changed my mind now as I want to head to our floor, I need to talk to you about something and it needs to be in private." It takes all I have to hold back my smirk and I instantly feel guilty when I see Ashley's worried look.

"What's wrong Jack?"

"You'll find out upstairs." I start walking at a fast pace up to our floor tugging Ashley behind me. We make it there within a minute both a little out of breath from the speed we were walking.

"So what's wrong babe?" I don't say a word but instead, I pull him into the kitchen, turn around so we are facing each other, and start moving him backward until his back is up against the kitchen worktops, wedged between that and me.

"Well, it seems that we have a problem... you see while we were in the Alpha's office it appeared that you were talking back to me and if that wasn't bad enough you then agreed to a date with another man."

My tone is serious yet playful and Ashley is quick to click on to that. "Oh is that how it appeared?"

"It's what happened mate and you know it!" I lowly growl out as my cock twitches from the look of desire on my mate's face.

He shrugs his shoulders "So what if it did happen?"

I love his playful side. "Well if it did then you need to be punished but if it didn't then we will, of course, just forget all about it and head out for our walk."
