Gamma Jack

If there's one perk to being a werewolf it's the ability to heal so well and so quickly. Less than 48 hours after I almost died I am leaving the pack hospital with a clean bill of health and so is Liam. I'm walking back to the pack house with Ashley and Liam and I can't help the smile that covers my face when I see Cal, his parents, Liam's parents, and Nora standing there waiting for us. Fuck I love these people.

We reach the steps and hugs and "Welcome home" Are quickly thrown our way before we are dragged into the pack house and through to the dining hall where we are met by more of the pack in fact, I'm pretty sure 90% of the pack is here right now.

"We knew you both would be against a welcome home party right now with everything that's been going on and that we still have to deal with so instead we have a welcome home dinner for you. You have to eat either way." Cal quickly tells us as we enter the dining hall. "But once this is all over we are having one big ass party!"

I let out a laugh not even surprised by this as does Liam but that is soon forgotten when the smell of meatloaf hits my nose and my stomach growls. fuck am I hungry.

"Jack!" I look up to see Kelly running towards me and before she can even reach me she jumps in the air and thankfully I'm quick enough to catch her, she squeezes me with everything she has, and I'm quick to return it with a hug of my own.

Fuck I love this little girl and the feeling of thinking that I would never see her again is still strong in my mind. "I missed you." She pulls away from me just enough to look at me while she talks and I find myself taking in every single little feature of hers including the little freckle that she has just below her left eye that I hadn't noticed before. I don't care about what we found out about her, she is Ashley's sister no matter what, and mine too for that matter. "I missed you too baby girl." She places a sweet little kiss on my cheek that has me beaming.

"I picked out your dinner and put it on the table for you, well Luna Lucy helped me with the hot stuff but I put it on the table. Would you like to sit next to me?" The look of pride in her eyes at getting my food for me along with her sweet voice honestly feels refreshing to see and hear right now.

"I would love to." I place her feet back down on the ground and she grabs my hand pulling me towards the table causing me to laugh over her excitement. I look back over my shoulder to find my mate smiling wide at my interaction with Kelly, and this moment just feels perfect and I never want it to end.

Gamma Ashley

We've been in the dining hall for a little while but I still haven't touched my food instead I've been sitting here watching my mate eat and laugh with everyone around the table causing my heart to pound with joy.

"He's here, he's safe." Luna Lucy's voice brings my attention to her as she smiles at me.

"I know," I answer her as my eyes wander back to my mate.

"But your afraid that if you take your eyes off him that he'll disappear?" I swear this woman is a mind reader.

"Pretty much." I nod still looking at Jack as he sits across the table in between Liam and Kelly. He must sense me looking at him as he turns his head away from where he's been talking to Kelly to look straight at me giving me his beautiful smile and wink. It's a good job that I'm sitting down right now because I feel my knees weakening, will he ever not have that effect on me?

"He's not going anywhere, sweetheart." Luna Lucy gently taps my leg with her hand before she excuses herself from the seat beside me. "Kelly, would you like to help me bake?" Kelly's eyes light up making me smile as she looks between Jack and me looking a little worried.

"Don't worry baby girl we will be here," Jack reassures her before I even open my mouth. She gives us both a smile and runs over to Luna Lucy holding onto her hand as they walk out of the dining hall.

"What's up Alpha?" Liam speaks the moment Kelly leaves the room and has me instantly on alert.

"Ryder linked me a few minutes ago and said that Edwina, Joey, and Jackie are asking for permission to come on our lands." my uncle Joey and his mate my auntie Jackie left with Edwina right after the witch attack. Edwina wanted to make sure that Hailey

wouldn't come near us again and Joey and Jackie offered to help her and we haven't heard from them since.

"I've granted them access of course and Ryder is bringing them to my office as we speak so let's head there now and see what's going on." Cal stands as he finishes talking and we all follow without any questions. Personally, I'm interested to see what they want and I just hope that it's good news.

Alpha Calvin

These past few days have been a nightmare, wolf fights, witch attacks, the loss of several of my warriors, and my family members and on top of that I almost lost my two top wolves, two of my brothers, and fuck if my heart hasn't been on one hell of a rollercoaster ride.

Thankfully we managed to rescue the kids from the tunnel and most of them have already been returned to their families, we still have a few left here but I have some of my best pack members looking after them and working on finding their homes, until then they are safe here with us.

Sadly I can't change the fact that we lost many pack members as much as I wish I could but we are doing everything we can for their families that have been left behind and they will get the send-off that they so rightly deserve.

Both Liam and Jack have made full recoveries and I couldn't be more thankful for that, I couldn't imagine my life without those two in it, and not just because they are my Beta and Gamma but because they are my brothers in every sense of the word and I'd give my life for theirs in a heartbeat. In fact, the night we brought them back to the pack I offered up myself to the moon goddess in exchange for their survival, it may have been a pointless thing to do but I dont regret trying.

We turn around the corner and come face to face with the witch Edwina who helped us that night and Ashley's uncle Joey and auntie Jackie as they stand with Ryder and Smithy two of my top warriors. They dont look upset and that helps settle me somewhat. However, still, they are here for a reason and I'm not sure if I want to know what it is, I dont think I can take anymore bad news.

"Alpha Calvin, it's lovely to see you again." Edwina leans into me as I approach her and places a kiss on my cheek. "You to Edwina, I wasn't expecting you to visit us but, of course, it is lovely to see you again." Edwina is a tall woman with jet-black hair down to her ass, she dresses very smart and looks very young but from what I've briefly learned in the last few days she is well over 100 years old.

Thank you for seeing us Alpha." Joey bows his head with respect as he speaks to me.

"It's my pleasure, Joey." I take a step forward offering him a handshake which he returns with one of his own. "It's lovely to see you, Jackie." I lean into her and place a small swift kiss on her cheek and let out a laugh when Joey's wolf growls at me right before he apologizes and laughs himself. I dont take offense to it it's just how wolves react to other males touching their mates.

"Alpha can we talk in private, please? There's something I need to tell you all about but I'd rather not do it in the hallway." Edwina asks now looking more concerned than she did just moments ago. "Of course." I step to the side open my office door and invite them inside before sending Ryder and Smithy back to their warrior duties.

I take a seat in my chair while Jack and Ashley pull over seats and sit to my left side and Liam does the same sitting on my right side while Edwina, Joey, and Jackie take seats in front of my desk facing us.

"What do you need to tell us, Edwina?" She looks toward Ashley while taking a deep breath then back to me.

"We have two problems." Of course, we fucking do, when dont we lately? I nod for her to continue dreading her next words.

"The first is I caught up with Hailey yesterday and she has assured me that she won't be coming near your pack again nor will she attempt to get near Kelly or Ashely.

Unfortunately, I dont believe her, she seems obsessed with getting her hands on Kelly, and I'm not sure why whatever story is behind that is from way before I met her."

I'm not truly surprised at hearing this and no one else in the room seems surprised either. "She will come back for her, she won't give in without a fight or until she's dead," Ashley says and I have to admit that I think he's right.

"I fear your right, Ashley." Edwina nods her head agreeing with him.

"Isn't there anything that you can do to stop her?" Jack asks while he takes Ashley's hand in his.

"I'm afraid there's not. I mean I can threaten her and command her not to come which usually would be enough but some new information has come to light today and it only makes me more concerned about her, I think she's mentally ill and way past listening to anyone."

"There has to be something we can do, I won't let her get her scummy hands on my sister!" Ashley growls out.

"This brings me to one of the reasons for our visit." Edwina looks towards Ashley before landing her eyes on mine. I nod for her to continue but she doesn't say a word instead Joey is the one to speak.

"Ashley I know we dont know each other as much as I would like but I also know that your dad told you about me and he also told me everything about you and Kelly and I feel like I know you both very well."

Ashley nods agreeing with his words with a small smile. "Your aunt and I are leaving our pack, things haven't been going well there, the new Alpha is too power-hungry and it's not the life that we want to lead. Jackie's brother is a warrior at another pack 18 hours away, we have visited there many times and his Alpha has offered us a home with them and we have decided to take it."

I'm not sure where he is going with this idea but I remain quiet and let him carry on. "Ashley I spoke with Alpha Simon this morning and he's more than happy for us to bring another person along with us."

"Huh... I dont understand?" Ashley's confusion matches everyone else's in the room.
