Werewolf
Bethany: His Little Wolf Chapter 151
Beta Liam
We keep low as we work our way toward the tunnel I have Ryder, Cole, Samson, Nick, and Jason with me plus two of our she-wolves Jessica and April plus Cal also had Larry and Zane follow us in their wolf form with several other members to help us get to the children and also to stop anyone else getting inside the tunnel once we are in there.
We keep going until we reach the tree line to the side of the tunnel and I hold my hand up bringing everyone behind me to a stop. The wolves surrounding the tunnel are facing away from us but we need them to move, they are completely surrounding the tunnel, and there's no way we are getting in there while they are there, there are just too many of them.
"What's the plan Beta, Liam?" Ryder slides beside me so he can whisper close to my ear.
"We wait." He gives me a puzzled look while he looks around the forest. " Once they start fighting these pricks will have to leave the tunnel and we can get in."
He smiles as he gives me an agreeing nod but any more words I might say are cut off as I hear the loud creek of a door and see Coby stepping back inside and the door shutting behind him.
"Fuck!" I look to Ryder who looks just as fucked off but Cal's familiar growl has me swinging my head in his direction to check that he's ok cutting off any words that Ryder was going to say.
Cal is standing toe to toe with Alpha Ashton and then his hand goes in the air, that's his signal to fight and for us to get ready. "Be alert, stay safe, and protect those kids!" My words are similar to Cal's earlier but they ring loud in my heart as I say them to my pack members, my family.
We hear the start of snarls and growls echoing around the forest and I know that a fight is just seconds away from happening but I drag my eyes away from Cal and back onto the tunnel. We can't let anything distract us from our sole purpose in this fight, which is to get to those children and get them to safety.
Of course, we also have to keep them safe until the fight is over but that's a worry for later, right now we just need to concentrate on getting in that tunnel and getting to those kids.
I breathe a sigh of relief as I watch the wolves that are guarding the tunnel slowly turn away from it and one by one as they leave to enter the fight and leave the tunnel unguarded, perfect!
"Let's go!" I quickly step forward with everyone following me, we reach the back of the tunnel then I stop them again. The others may be distracted by the fight but we still dont need to draw attention to ourselves while we enter the tunnel. The last thing we need is their attention and a shit load of wolves trying to stop us.
Luckily the fight seems to be sticking to the left side of the building so I guide my group to the right keeping them out of sight. We work our way across the side of the tunnel when I start picking up a crazy amount of scents driving my wolf Jonah nuts.
The front of the tunnel is sitting on top of the ground but soon disappears underground, it's a weird shape but right now it's a massive help as the part that's sitting on top of the ground is big enough to give us cover.
We come to the front of the tunnel and I peck around towards the door to the entrance and feel relief when there's no one there nor can I see any wolves close by paying any attention to it.
"The door will creek when we open it and there's a chance that it will draw some attention so we need to keep to a tight huddle and move in fast. Let's not give these bastards a chance to get in there with us."
My words are met with a string of agreeing nods before everyone starts huddling up until there are literally clothes touching clothes. I slightly jump when I feel someone's hand touch my ass and can't hold back a quiet laugh when I see the look of embarrassment on Cole's face.
"If you think I'm that cheap you are sorely mistaken, you need to at least buy me dinner first." He chokes on thin air at my comment before the embarrassed look finally leaves his face and he lets out his own laugh.
"Duly noted Beta Liam." As much as I'd like to keep going with our banter, this is not the time or place for it but I'm sure I will find a way to torture him about it, later on, and so will Ashley, Jack, and Cal when I tell them about this. They are going to love it, especially Ashley.
A wide smile breaks out across my face at thinking about the guys but it quickly leaves as the thought of what could happen creeps into my head before I make quick work of shaking the thoughts away and concentrating on what we need to do next.
I look back at everyone behind me to see they are all as close to each other as possible while Larry, Zane, and the guys that they brought along continue to surround us in their wolf forms.
I move forward until my hands are on the door handle and with a deep breath I pull it open winching as the creaking noise seems to echos loudly across the forest. "Go, go, go. I've got you covered!" I hear Ryder shout out as he keeps the door open while we all shuffle as quickly as possible to get inside.
The moment Ryder closes the door I feel myself relax a little. "Good job warriors. Now let's find these children and let them know that they are safe." My words echo around the small space as nods and noises of agreeance echo back at me.
I turn to face the opposite direction while my warriors get back into formation behind me ready to follow my lead. I briefly look around me and if I wasn't here for the reason that I am I think I would actually be fascinated by this place.
The tunnel is made with steel sheets that have been placed in a half-circle shape with an array of weapons nailed to the walls. I look to my right and see that a small section has been turned into a form of sleeping quarters that I'm guessing is for anyone keeping watch in here.
There are two cot beds, two chairs, a small box in the corner that looks like it's made of steel with some empty plastic cups placed on top of it, and a shit load of empty candy wrappers. Whoever was keeping watch last must be on one hell of a sugar rush right now.
There are some old lanterns hanging in random places from the ceiling giving the place an orange glow but there's not a great deal of light in here which keeps me slightly on edge.
We keep moving forward in a straight line and soon enough cells appear in front of us, all the doors are open and the sight inside some of them is chilling. There are old dirty blankets scattered inside of them and buckets in the corners that I'm guessing are for toilet use.
A low growl from behind me has me turning around to see Cole looking ready to shift while he checks out one of the cells on the opposite side to me "What have you found?" He stops growling when he looks at me and I swear hes going to throw up at any moment.
"There are teddys in here Beta Liam and a nightgown... can't be any more than 5 years old to fit in that," He answers me but towards the end of his answer, he appears to be talking to himself more than me. I dont need him to explain any further, I know what he means.
"Let's keep moving." My words are calm and firm even if I dont feel like that inside.
We keep moving down the long tunnel corridor ignoring the empty cells as we go. We come to a stop at the end of the corridor and are met with a large steel door, it looks heavy and sealed closed but that won't stop us from getting inside.
There's a small window at the top of the door and thankfully my height allows me to see straight through it and my whole body instantly tenses up the moment I see the children inside the room sitting on the floor in a circle.
The bags have been removed from their heads and pretty soon I notice that every single one of the children are girls and this only enrages me more. I look around the room as best I can but just like the rest of the place, there isn't a lot of light in there.
I can see several cots lined up along the side of the room and enough tables and chairs to accommodate a whole classroom of kids. I can't see any buckets in the corners which brings me a little relief and hope that they have an actual bathroom in there or at least a working toilet.
I keep looking around the room when a sight catches my eyes that has me both suspicious and shocked to fuck. Coby is sitting in the middle of the circle with all the children facing him but that's not the reason why I'm shocked, the reason for that is because he is reading them a story and from what I can make out from this distance it is a children's book.
As if he can sense me looking at him his eyes flick up and he looks straight at me, he lets out a smile and I swear I see the relief wash across his face. He says something to the kids that have them all looking toward me then he stands up and walks towards the door.
"Be ready," I tell everyone as I stand back expecting Coby to bound through the door and attack us. Seconds later the door opens but Coby doesn't come out to attack us instead he stays standing in the door frame blocking our view of the kids.
"Thank goddess you are here Beta Liam, I wasn't sure how much longer I had before they came back in here!" His relief at seeing us is strong but it has me on edge.
"What are you talking about Coby?"
"You're here to save the kids right?" He sounds like he's second-guessing himself.
"Yes I am... but Coby why are you glad to see me? You're in on this with them so surely I'm the last person you should want to see right now."
"I'm glad to see you, Beta Liam, because we need to get these children away from Alpha Ashton and his men, we need to do it now and I can't do it alone!" He's getting impatient while I just stand here in shock.
"Are you saying that you want to help the kids get to safety and not sell them?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying, Beta Liam."
He looks sincere and I want to believe him but I'm struggling to get my head around this right now.
