Gamma Jack

My heart is pounding so goddam hard that I'm struggling to breathe. I'm fucking fuming and ready to kill!

We've searched the entire pack house and pack lands twice but there's no sign of Kelly or Matthew, my mate is barely holding on and that's just adding to my anger.

Cal links everyone to meet in the kitchen and we head straight back there as fast as our legs can take us. Everyone looks worried and more than anything they look pissed. Everyone here has quickly become attached to both of them but Kelly more than anything.

"What's the plan Alpha?" Warren one of our top warriors asks the moment he sees everyone has arrived in the kitchen. He has a better bond with Kelly than most. He was the one to get her away from her mother's pack and they formed a bond before she even got back to our pack.

"We are going to split up into groups and search the woods, the smallest clue could lead us to them so be vigilant. Warren you will take a group to the north side. Jack and Ashley you guys take a group to the south." I send him a nod grateful he's allowing my mate to stay with me. "Toby you will take a group east. Liam and the remaining warriors will take the west side with me. Everyone keep your links open and keep in touch. Let's go!"

The whole room swarms into action and considering the number of people that are in this room right now we have the groups separated out pretty quickly which both Ash and I are grateful for!

Ashley and I head outside and walk over to one of the trees where it's a little more quiet gathering our group up close before we head out.

"Ok men we need to find Matthew and Kelly ASAP. The longer it takes us to find them the further away they are getting and right now every second counts, I want no stone left unturned. I don't care how little something may seem, if you so much as get the smallest fucking feeling that something seems amiss link Gamma Ashley or myself. I would rather check 20 useless clues than miss one decent one because someone wasn't sure. Do you understand?"

A chorus of "Yes Gamma!" gets thrown back my way and as always I feel pride when I look at the men standing in front of me.

"Let's head out. Groups of 2 minimal. I don't want anyone alone as we don't know if anyone is lurking out there."

Everyone quickly turns on their heels and heads for our searching ground while I pray with all I have that we find something that can lead us to them.

We enter the forest and instantly begin searching with Ashley by my side and Jessop and Arthur, two of our top warriors following right behind us and staying close for extra protection.

Ashley and I aren't leaving anything to chance and start searching everything in detail. A few days after Kelly arrived here we give her a class in safety. We both knew that there was a chance that this could happen despite our best efforts but still we wanted to give her a head start if it ever did.

Alongside a few defensive moves suitable for her age we also taught her a few little helping tips such as making as much noise as she can, leaving something of hers behind for us to find, and if possible to keep dropping items of hers in the chance we can find some of it and have a trail to help us find her. I feel a pang in my heart thinking back to that day and the conversation that we had.

"Ashley, why do I have to do this? I want to play with my friends and dad said he would take me for ice cream." She whines in her cute little voice

"And you will get to play with your friends you can even bring them for ice cream princess but first you need to do this." Matthew steps over from the side of the warrior's training ground where he's been watching us work with kelly for the last hour.

Her little pout is sad but cute at the same time and already she's got me wrapped around her little finger, this girl makes it easy to love her which makes it even harder to understand why her mother would do what she did to her. in fact, my mate is exactly the same, he's not been here long and already I love him and I know I'm not the only one in the pack.

They're both so easy to love and want and I have to credit this to Matthew because I don't see any of Hailey in them. I may not know much about her but what I do is enough to make me want to end her painfully!

"But why do I need to learn this stuff, daddy? You said that you and Ashley will always look after me and now I have Jack too." She looks so innocent and it's hard to think about the danger that's lurking after her.

"And I will always protect you, baby girl!" His words are firm and leave no room for argument.

"Me too princess." Ashley bends down beside her and takes her hand in his.

"And so will I Kelly bear but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't have a little plan in place, just in case." I hate to think that we couldn't protect her at any time but it's a fact, unfortunately.

"Princess we will always protect you and neither of us plans to let anyone get their hands on you ever but that's always a rare chance that someone could try to take you and if that was to happen then we would find you as quick as possible but this is just another way to help us do that. Do you understand what I'm saying, princess?"

Matthew's words tug at my heart but I feel relief when I feel like I can see Kelly finally understanding what it is we are trying to do here. "So you will all protect me but if a bad man does take me this will help you find me quicker?"

"That's right kelly bear," I answer with a genuine smile as I throw in the little nickname that I have for her.

"Because you will always find me right Jack?"

"Always sweetheart, always!" My tone is firm because it's true, I would tear the world apart to find her.

"Fuck!" I shout out as I bring myself back to the present.

"What is it, baby?" Ashley is straight at my side as I try to get a grip on my frustration.

"How has this happened Ash? Even when we were training her for this kind of scenario I never thought it would actually happen!"

He looks at me sadly and I hate it but I can't hold this in either. "I know babe, I wish it wasn't this way but right now she needs us to be on our game and I'm sure she's on hers and we'll find some clues soon enough." He gives me a reassuring smile as he takes hold of my hand.

"How can you be so calm?" I don't want to take my anger out on him but I don't understand how he's doing this.

He looks at me and then I see it. I see the tears glistening in his eyes that he's barely holding back, I see his chest rise and fall with how hard his heart is beating, and I see the heartbroken look on his beautiful face. I see it all.

"Because I have no choice, Jack. I want to break down and cry, I want to smash everything in my sight and I want to scream until I have no more voice but Kelly needs me to find her and I have to stay strong to do that."

"Fuck, your right darling... I'm sorry... I guess I'm just not sure how to handle this." He squeezes my hand and places a gentle kiss on my lips.

"Me neither but we'll figure it out together ok?" I nod before giving him another kiss. I like to think I'm the Alpha male of us two but at this moment my mates proving me wrong. He is so much stronger than I think I realized and it just makes me love him even more.

"Why don't we shift, maybe we will pick her scent up quicker that way." Ashley quickly agrees and I let Jessop and Arthur know before we strip off, tie our shorts to our ankles, and shift into Taz and Alfie.

"Taz we need to find Kelly and now. you ready?" He comes to the front of my mind and I can feel the determination rolling off him before he even says anything.

"Dam right I am, and so is Alfie I just spoke to him. let's go find our sister and tear that mother fucker apart!" He growls out the words before letting a dangerous growl slip out that's soon followed by one from Alfie.

We take off and make quick work of searching every section while Jessop and Arthur stay in their human forms and close to us.

We've been at this for two fucking long and it's making me tense. She's a smart girl and I know that she would remember what we taught her but after all this searching and finding nothing I'm more worried that she was unable to leave anything for us to find. Fuck that thought is terrifying.

As we make our way towards some loose rocks Jessop calls out to us, his tone frantic enough to have us running straight to him, as soon as we are in front of him we both shift and Ashley starts talking as we both put our shorts on.

"What is it, Jessop?"

"Gamma Ashley I think I've found something behind this rock." I look to when he points and fuck the rock is huge, maybe even big enough for an 8-year-old to hide behind. Ashley looks at me and we both bolt for the rock without saying a word.

At first glance, I can't see anything but then a shinning catches my eyes just as Ashley bends down and picks up what I saw, clearly he caught sight of it two. "Is that what I think it is?" I ask him.

"Yep, it's Kelly's hair clip."

"Are you sure it's her's Gamma Ashley? Jessop asks with a hint of excitement in his tone.

"It is. I did her hair myself this morning and personally put that clip in her hair. It's not easy to forget after the 10-minute argument kelly and I had over it being the wrong color to march her outfit... of course, she won." Ashley laughs alongside me remembering the moment.

That girl is a beauty but she has absolutely no dress sense or color-matching skills. She had a purple dress on with white socks and black shoes so I put a purple-colored clip in her hair and got a 10-minute beat down about why she should get the red-colored clip in her hair.

And yes that's right, the clip currently in Ashley's hand is red. He passes it to me and I feel a little hope flood through my body. Hope that she's ok. Hope that she's left us a trail.
