The Delta's Daughter Chapter 138

KELLEN

The days had passed by slowly and I understood why prisoners would make tally marks in the cells to count the days. I had no idea how long I had been here, three, maybe four weeks

It was two days until the opening day when the Gladiator games would begin. That much I knew. 28 days of challenges. 28 days of fighting to survive.

When Teal explained the specifics of the month-long games, he told us how we wouldn’t just be fighting each other but slaves or volunteers from surrounding packs, their champions.

Currently, Teal was considered the Alphas champion, but we would be facing other challenges. He gave examples of past competitions but he couldn’t say for sure what we were to expect as it was different every year.

Our slave barracks were large and could house around 25-30 men, there were around 26 holed up in here with me. Over the past week, the guards had allowed us to exercise and train in the common area.

Each day I had woken up before sunrise and began a round of exercises, pushups, crunches, squats, and even jumping jacks. There was nowhere to really run so I had to stick to the basics. I was also teaching Ajani and Rogue better sword skills, passing on all the training I received from the academy.

I had bulked up despite the lack of food and nutrition. I thought of King Mathias as I finished my last pushup and wiped the sweat from my brow.

The dude was huge, and I don’t think any amount of exercise, training or even weight lifting would bring me to his level of bulk. The man was a sheer beast. I bet he would never have found himself in this position. A fighting slave.

I grabbed a clean pair of cotton shorts the guards had provided yesterday and headed towards the communal shower. Still grateful that we had running water and a toilet no matter how disgusting they were.

When I was toweling off I heard a commotion from the other end of the barracks. Usually, I would mind my own business, however, curiosity got the best of me and my wolf stirred.

That was another strange thing, my wolf was getting stronger each day and if I didn’t know I couldn’t shift I would think there was nothing wrong, that everything was as it should be.

I hadn’t really spoken to the other residents of the barracks since I had been here, except for our small group of five, or four now that Aaron had died.

When I rounded the corner where other small cell-like rooms were located I heard the laughing and jeering from other slaves. They were encouraging someone to do something.

“That’s right little bitch, that’s what you are now, the slave bitch!” I heard one man laugh out.

“Fuck him good!” Another called.

The smell of male arousal was strong, the offending scent assaulting my nose. Ten other slaves stood around crowding in a circle. I heard a slap, and someone making a panicked noise. Some of the men had their cocks in their hands watching whatever was in the middle of the circle.

Just beneath the scent of their desires I could get a distinct whiff of fear and realized exactly what was happening. I pushed through the circle to find a large male bent over rogue, another holding rogue down over a short partition wall. They had pulled his pants down and the large man had smacked his ass, I could see the red print of his hand. He was spreading rogues ass cheeks apart his cock by his back door. His feet kicked Rogue's legs further apart.

I let out a growl and ripped the man away from Rogue, throwing him into the wall. The other man let go of Rogue's arms and lunged at me. Suddenly the sounds of growls and snarls filled the small space as the other slaves lunged at me all at once.

There was a flurry of fists and feet coming at me but I did not falter. Using the back wall as leverage, I sprung off of it and hurled myself at the ten or so slaves taking out three of them at once. I caught a fist to the face, my nose splitting open and gushing blood.

I grabbed the assailant and snapped his arm that had caused me to bleed, his scream bouncing off the walls and echoing through the barracks. With each slave that attacked I put them down. Breaking an arm or a leg, knocking them out until none stood before me.

I huffed as my adrenaline spiked, my chest heaving with rage. When I was sure no one was left or was going to attack, I looked at Rogue who stood there shaking, his legs trembling, barely holding him up. He looked at me with fear in his eyes.

I just saved him from being raped, why would he fear me I walked out of there stepping over the knocked-out and crying men.

I held my hand out to Rogue and he cowered back against the corner tighter. Fuck this shit, I thought and stomped away.

I was still reeling from the fight, and now I was annoyed that he was acting like this. I didn’t expect him to hug or kiss me, but a little gratitude would have been nice. I made it back to my little area, I couldn’t call it a room, it was a doorless cell.

Rogue followed me in and I gave him a snarl at his ungratefulness. He shook his head, then pointed to his eye then with the same finger pointed to mine and shook his head again.

I cocked my head, “Is there something wrong with my eyes” I asked trying to figure out what his problem was.

Rogue bent down and drew a cross in the dirt then pointed at my eyes again, then at the mark, he had made in the dirt.

I was a little slow on the uptake, and lifted my hands, palms up “I have no idea what you are trying to say.” I said agitatedly. I was about to shoe him away, so I could put my nose back in place when he grabbed my arm and his finger pointed at my mark over my chest and again at my eyes.

“Oh!” I said, and dumbly lifted my hands to feel my eyes and dropped them quickly “Did my eyes go dark like the pupils widened” Rogue nodded his head vigorously. “Was there a white mark in the middle of them” Again he nodded and took a step back.

I pursed my lips, wondering how the power of A Knight could come forth if I couldn’t shift and I couldn’t contact the other Knights or Lamia. I had tried to establish a mind-link with them every day, and so far nothing.
