What would have been day 24 of the Games

KELLEN

“The witch is called Morgan. She is Orion’s daughter, Finnegan’s sister. Supposedly she has been locked up since she was fifteen years old when her gifts became known.” Hunji began explaining what he knew. Mike and Tobias did not seem surprised, though I was sure they were privy to this information. Of course, I had been enslaved here so everything he was saying was new to me.

“I had no idea Finnegan was still alive.” I scowled “I would have thought Mathias had executed him.” I was a little baffled that he had been allowed to live, after all, he was not just Orion’s son but I thought he was his accomplice. His actions at the battle of Riocht were unexpected and Lamia had protected him from being killed right there and then but I was sure once he had given them information, surely the King of shifters would not let him live.

“No, your highness, it seems he was in as much of a mess as you were. Xander and Damon were able to remove his chip and he was locked in the Clan Mansion's cells for a while. If it wasn’t for him, we may have never figured out where exactly you were.” I looked at Hunji, a little astonished at the turn of events, although knowing Lamia if he wasn’t dead there was a reason.

“That and we were able to retrieve this from a very willing source of information” Mike’s hand went into his pocket revealing a shiny object and holding it out to me.

“My watch!” I smiled, thinking I had lost that forever. I turned it over to read the inscription ‘Our Bond is as timeless as our friendship and love. L’ A small smile spread on my lips. After Ashe’s story about their spirit animals, Kellen was more than convinced that everything Lamia had endured and everything he has gone through, was not wholly about them but their other halves.

It was about Inanna and Conri. It was their story they were living. Everything from Lamia losing Zane and their pup, to her being a Dire wolf and Lycan hybrid; Even how their wolves initially rejected each other and she became mated to the Bear King. It all started making sense to him. Him, ending up here and meeting Teal, becoming mated to Tala; It all meant something, it seemed like things were coming full circle and now Hunji was sent on a quest to find the sister of the Bear King's surprise brother.

I couldn’t help feeling like something bigger was coming. The gods were playing a game and they were all entangled in it together, whether they knew it or not. Ashe had warned him about the god’s efforts to control and how they saw us as pawns. Even MacTire, just like Riocht had a role. Finding out Teal’s last name was MacTire had been a real head-scratcher and why did he state his name, rank, and lineage to Tala, and what was a Knight of the Red Branch

Conri had been silent when I asked him about it, only telling me ‘Not yet'

“I think Lamia would kick your ass if you returned without this.” Mike chuckled at me.

“From what Mathias said she has been hell-bent on us finding you, even kicked his ass a couple of times. He said she seems to be drawing strength from the babies.” I looked at Tobias, cocking my head.

“Did you just say, babies” Wanting to make sure I heard him right.

“Umm, yeah,” he looked around at Hunji and Mike “You didn’t know she was carrying triplets”

My eyes just about fell out of my head and my mouth hung open gaping “Seriously” The guys all laughed at me.

*Congratulations, you will be an uncle* Rogues voice rang out his congratulations in my head. I spent many a night and day telling him about Lamia and Mike, so he knew how close we all were.

“Thanks.” I said out loud “I feel sorry for King” I gave a half-hearted laugh and squeezed my mate who was still sitting on my lap a little tighter and kissed her cheek.

“Don’t go getting any ideas,” Tala said playfully swatting my arm. I gave her a look; her heat had only lasted one night, which probably meant I got her pregnant on the first try. Did she not realize she was probably baking me a little pup right now

“Is that so,” I said to her with a coy smile “I might have to work on that, practice makes perfect you know.” There was no way I was going to tell her, I would let her work it out on her own. But really she had to know, right

Mike shifted uncomfortably every now and then his eyes darting to my mate and glancing over her. Not in a lustful way. It was more of a curious look at how things would go once Tala met her half-brother and sister. We had discussed Tala and Teal privately and when Tobias mentioned Mike's new love interest, I put the pieces together. Jonda was Tala’s half-sister. Teal's Daughter and Alpha John of the Sea Dog pack was Teal’s son, Tala’s half-brother. I wondered myself, how she would be received by them and Mike knew if they held any animosity toward my mate, he would not be bringing his new love interest back to New Moon.

“Alright, so we leave for the port in the morning. Another two frickin’ day drive in this goddess awful heat! Hunji you are staying here to go hunt for some bear shifters witch sister” Mike looked at the reserved and stoic wolf with a raised eyebrow.

Hunji nodded back to him “I will stay here for a few days, in case I am needed. Then I will go to Andora and see if I can find where she is being held. I would like to speak with our prisoner before you leave, if I may”

“Yeah,” Mike said running a hand down his face, obviously exhausted like the rest of us. I could tell he was anxious to be home too. The months of stress and sleepless nights my disappearance caused had taken a toll on Mike and now everything was catching up with him. “Take Tobias with you. As we have seen, he has very useful interrogation skills, if you need them.”

“How are we going to fuel the trucks out here I didn’t see anything resembling a gas station out here or on our way.” Tobias grimaced.

“Oh! No need!” Tala said now standing up and leaving my arms empty. “We don’t run our cars on oil here.” I think we all looked at her like she had grown two heads.

“Then how do you fuel your cars” Tobias asked just as confused.

My mate smiled brightly “We run them on corn oil, it burns just as good. A little smellier but just as effective and has a good burn time on engines too.”

“Huh” Was all Tobias offered her.

“This continent is definitely different from ours. In some ways, it is very far behind and lacking and yet in other ways they are further ahead in technology than us.” I could see Mike's brain ticking over.

“As far as technology yes, but their way of thinking, they are still very primitive, especially in Asiarian.” We all looked at Hunji when he made that statement. Of course, he would know. That's where he was born, we knew this from the very little information he had given us about his background.

My little flame made her way back onto my lap, wrapping her arms around my neck and giving me a soft kiss on my cheek. I breathed in her delicious scent, an instant peace descending upon me. We could get to know each other more on the ride to the port and I was excited to learn all about her, just knowing I would love every little detail about Tala and I looked forward to discovering all her quirks and kinks.

The meeting ended and I sent Rogue with Mike. I wanted them close and I wanted Rogue to learn from my Beta and I hoped they would get on and become friends. Also at the moment, Mike was the only other person Rogue could mind-link with.

I was going to take Tala back to her room so she could pack up and then have some time with her friend Eloise before we left tomorrow morning.

“Wait,” Tala said suddenly tugging my hand and leading me away from where her room was down another short hall. “I want to show you something.” Her wide smile and excitement indicated it was probably something I would like.

Tala led me into a very feminine room and stood at the end of the bed waiting for me to join her. At first, I thought she wanted to get it on in here, so I slid my arms around her waist and nuzzled her neck.

“Silly King,” She chuckled pushing me away, much to mine and my horny wolf’s annoyance “Look,” She said, holding up her hand and pointing at the adjacent wall.

I wasn’t prepared for what I was about to see and no words could ever describe how I felt about the painting I was looking at. I took a seat, perching on the end of the bed and covering my mouth with my hand.

“That… That’s impossible.” I sat there stunned “Who Where did this come from” I asked Tala not able to draw my eyes from the painting.

“I don’t know, but I do know it had been in my mother’s family for centuries. At least that’s what she said. When I saw your wolf, the first thing I thought of was this painting. It was strange because at that moment I felt like I had been seeing you all my life.” She sighed and sat beside me.

“No, Tala. You don’t understand.” I scrubbed my face with my hands. “That is me. And that woman with the wolf, Is Lamia.”

It was true, I was staring at a painting that stretched across almost the entirety of the wall. Depicted was a large wolf, silver in color with blue eyes and standing tall and proud, the wolf was enigmatic but whoever the artist was, captured the powerful beast in such a way that made you want to bow to it. The Wolf was standing on a large rock accompanied by a woman, tall and in a long green tunic dress with gold embroidery, upon her head of golden and onyx streaks sat a crown twisted like ivory with green jewels to match her striking emerald eyes. The goddess-looking woman exuded power. In her right hand, she held a magnificent sword, poised and ready to strike down her enemy. Her left hand sat on the silver wolf's head, whether it be in comfort or protection it didn’t matter, again the artist captured the bond between the beauty and beast.

The painting told the story of a battle scene, the sky was illuminated by a half moon that clouds swirled around. Behind the woman below the mound of rocks sat three wolves, bent so their snouts touched the ground as if bowing to the pair. Behind the Godly Wolf were four more wolves, the largest being a red wolf, looking almost as powerful as the silver wolf.

“There is an inscription on the back, I have never seen it but I was told the painting was of the Goddess Inanna and her lover after they had defeated her father Anu. The wolves surrounding her were her Knights and the other four were a king's most trusted warriors, also knights. The inscription on the back says: As it was once before, it shall become again. The goddess Inanna and King Connor.”

I looked at my little flame, lost for words. I knew what I wanted to say but I wasn’t sure how to begin. “It’s all true.” Was I what managed to say, my voice low, speaking more to myself. I mean what else are you meant to say when you are shown a painting that depicts you and your friend from centuries ago and coming to the stark truth that everything a white-haired lady had told you was true

It was no coincidence that the sword in the painting was one of Lamia’s. There was no denying the main figures were Lamia and my wolf Conri. “I would like to take this painting with us. It means so much to you and you have no idea what this painting means to me.” I turned to her, almost asking but mostly telling her. Once she met Lamia, she would understand better. Right now I couldn’t even fathom how to explain the very obvious coincidences and similarities.

‘We are born again each time, but this time it is different. This time the moon goddess fated us to another.’ Conri said, his wolfish voice sliding around in my head. His slight disappointment was obvious but when my sight landed on our mate I could feel his contentment and happiness mirroring mine.

For a long time, it was my thought that the moon goddess had done us wrong, and cheated us out of our girl. Thinking Lamia should have always been mine, but as we stand before the beautiful piece of artwork with Tala, I come to realize; that I never lost Lamia, I was never cheated. Instead, we were both given a second chance. Instead of repeating the past, the gods gave us a path to change the future and determine our fate. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome, disregarding the way we got here.

I would always love Lamia, but she was not mine. Tala was mine and that thought made me smile and take my mate in my arms, wrapping them around her waist from behind and pulling her back against my chest, both of us quietly staring at the painting in front of us, while my chin rested on her shoulder. She was my happiness.

Did it mean everything would be ok Did it mean things were falling into place I didn’t know, but this was my fate and I had already accepted it and so far it had been one heck of a ride.

“I will ask the maids to pack the painting up for us. I’m so glad you love it.” Tala turned in my arms with a jubilant smile, snaking her hands up my shoulders and around the back of my neck, pulling my head down until our lips met, “I have always felt as if it called out to me, is that crazy”

“No, not at all. It’s fate, my love.” I said tucking a piece of her bright red hair behind her ear and placing a soft kiss on her lips. “We were meant to be” I whispered before taking her lips again for a more heated kiss.

“I’ve already fallen in love with you Kellen,” Tala gasped when she broke the kiss for a moment, her cheeks pink and heated from her arousal.

“The feeling is mutual,” I said, lifting Tala in my arms so her legs could wrap around me and carrying her out of the door towards her room, not breaking the passionate and needy kiss once.

I took Tala back to her room and laid her down on the bed once we got there. Savoring each kiss like it was our last. This woman had no idea how much she meant to me.

“Kellen” she moaned as I peeled her clothes from her ivory skin and let my kisses trail over her body.

I quickly took my own pants and shirt off and climbed back over her. Her legs parted for me so I could rest between them. Kissing her as I moved up her body, my hands exploring her soft curves and, my fingers relishing the skin beneath them.

I sunk into her with a groan, filling her up and feeling her tight pussy clench around me once I was fully seated. I began to move slowly, pulling and out and pushing back in. This time the need to make love to her was great, unlike the primal need when she was experiencing her heat.

Her moans and gentle sighs that matched the rhythm of my thrusts were dangerously close to making me end this before it was even started. I kissed her and thrust harder gaining a squeak of pleasure from her. Her hands roamed my arms, caressing each trembling muscle as I held back on the beast that wanted to claim her roughly. Up over my arms and shoulders, her nails trailed. Then down my back, her tiny hands descended until they reached my butt and she squeezed, pulling me deep into her on my next plunge.

“Fuck you are so beautiful,” I groaned. Changing my angle and moving in and out of her at a quicker pace.

Soon enough I felt myself building and I moved a hand between us to find her swollen bud, rubbing it hard. She moaned and her walls clenched my shaft, I began to pound into her harder knowing she was on the edge of release.

With two more pumps inside her, Tala screamed my name “Kellen!”, her nails digging into my back as her orgasm gushed around me, her toes curling and back arching.

I was right there with her, burying my cock deep inside her and releasing my seed “Fuck, I love you Tala. Now and forever.” I growled placing a kiss on her lips when I had emptied my essence into her. Taking my time before I pulled out, not wanting this connection to be broken, I could stay buried inside her all day every day, if I could. She was my everything.
