The Delta's Daughter Chapter 188

I couldn’t even put into words the emotions I was going through, Disgust, hate, fear, sorrow, despair, and lastly, love. Love, as I held Teal’s eyes and watched the warmth fade from them. The bright cerulean orbs had lost their gleam and their light was fading. A lone tear escaped his eye, trailing down his cheek, his face full of sorrow, the sadness drawing out my own tears as I watched his features twist with pain and I rocked back and forth sobbing for his fate. Before his body, as if in slow motion slumped to the floor.

“Arrggghh! You’re a monster!” I yelled out “All of you, are monsters. May Aodh curse you all!” I screamed.

“I wanted to kill you, but Jack convinced me otherwise.” Vargr’s spit sprayed from his mouth as he bent down to my eye level and seethed through his clenched jaw. He clicked his finger to Beta Baron who approached with a syringe in his hands. He stabbed the needle in my neck, emptying the vile liquid. The burn began almost immediately and I knew he had just hit me with wolfsbane.

“She is yours,” Vargr growled out to Jack, His harsh tone and bloody hand waived in dismissal, still holding Teal’s heart, added to the finality of his words.

Jack ripped me up by my hair and grabbed my arm harshly, his fingers digging in relentlessly, and dragged me from the room. I gave Oliver a glare, the man who said he wouldn’t betray me or let anything happen to me. I was right not to believe a word he said and didn’t feel anything about him, his lack of action not bothering me in the least as it was the most I expected from a man like him.

“I CURSE YOU ALL! I CURSE YOU ALL!”

I screamed over and over as I was brutally dragged down the hall to the back staircase and then yanked up them, Jack heading in the direction of my room. But it wasn’t my room he took me to. It was a room further down the hall, one I had not been in, in a very long time.

When we got there, Jack yelled at two of the guards “keep these doors shut and don’t let her out!” He commanded like he had some authority. The guards just nodded at him and then gave me a distasteful look. “She is mine now,” he said with a cruel chuckle, opened the door, threw me in, and slammed it shut. Leaving me alone.

I immediately began looking for a way out. My first option was to try to open the window. It had been sealed shut, there was no way of opening it. I turned to look around the room. The queen size bed lay against one wall covered in dust covers, next to it was a dusty crib with faded blue blankets and a mobile made of stars and moons hanging over it.

Once as a child, Jasper and I had ventured into this room, playing hide and seek. Vargr had gone nuts at me when he found out, telling me to keep the fuck out or he would rip my throat out. I was 9 then and it was the first time I had ever truly seen his anger. He slapped me so hard and then kicked me in the ribs. I could never understand at that age what I had done wrong and why I was the only one punished. As I look around, and after reading some of my sister's diaries. I knew this was the room my older brother would have had. If he had lived.

I picked up the little blue ceramic lamp shade and tossed it at the window, hoping it would smash the glass. It bounced off instead and the ceramic lamp crashed to the floor, shattering. I cried out in frustration and then noticed the door on the opposite side of the room.

Opening it I found a small bathroom with a single white sink, tub, and toilet. Immediately I turned the tap on and began gulping the water. I was so parched and weak and grateful for the lukewarm water I began to cup the water in my hands and throwing at my face. Once I had had enough I slumped to the floor.

‘Mora’ I called out to my wolf who stirred ‘Mora, help us’ I begged her, the defeat in my voice as I mentally spoke to my wolf was strained and full of despair.

‘I am so weak’ Mora’s reply came in a soft murmur. I had hoped the water had helped but with lack of food and being in that box, our strength had diminished. Yet, again I felt useless.

I sat on that bathroom floor for a while, head in my hands, and eventually gave up trying to get out of here. Maybe I could slip past the guards I thought, but realized I couldn’t even open the door, Jack had locked it behind him.

It was getting darker outside and the moon had risen, the silver streams of light shone through the indestructible window. Jack would be coming back for me, I knew it. I got up and began searching the room for anything I could as a weapon, and tried to mind-link Jasper or anyone again, but I was still blocked and I couldn’t figure out why.

‘The box had silver, that’s why I am too weak’ Mora’s voice filled my head.

There was nothing here to defend myself with, unless I could kill Jack with a stuffed toy. I thought about breaking the crib and using the wood to stab him with it, but that wouldn’t do anything to Jack.

The lock on the door rattled and I scrambled into a corner, trying to make myself invisible. Jack's large and imposing frame filled the doorway, his eyes dark and menacing. I gulped at the sight of him, his beast was on the surface.

“I’m back to take what's mine.” He growled, stalking toward me.

“Jack,” I said with a lump in my throat “Please, I have the location of the witch for you, if you…” I was cut off from my attempt to plea and bargain with him as he flashed in front of me and grabbed my neck.

His nose went to the crook and he trailed his hot tongue up and over my cheek. “So innocent, so… sweet. I am going to ruin you, sweet princess. Over and over.” He rasped in a low voice. I shuddered in fear and he inhaled deeply again. “Fear just makes my beast want you even more. He relishes in the scent.”

I squirmed. I was not going to go down without a fight, no matter how much I was trembling. I lifted my knee, clocking him in the groin. He let go of me and I took the opportunity to make a run for it. Jack was quicker and snatched me by the hair yet again making me call out in pain, throwing me back against the wall. My head hit the stone surface with force and I could see stars and black spots flashing before my eyes.

He threw me on the bed, pinning my hands above my head “That is going to cost you, you bitch” He raged over me and took a clawed hand to my dress tearing it apart. I screamed and kicked, trying to buck him off me. He punched me in the face and my body went limp as my head throbbed, his clawed hand scraping down the side of my arm, the heat searing and blood oozing from the wounds. He let my hands go and I heard the sound of his zipper and his pants falling to the floor.

I groaned and tried to roll away, grasping the edge of the bed to haul myself off it. His large hand wrapped around my ankle and dragged me back, flipping me over and cracking me in the face again. “If my beast doesn’t kill you,” he said manically, pinning my hands back over my head “I will keep you and every night I will fill you.” He dug the nails of his other hand into the inside of my thigh and violently ripped my legs apart seating himself between them. Keeping a firm grip on my wrists.

I screamed at the pain, I screamed for what was to come. “Keep screaming, I like it when they scream.” I had my head turned away and eyes shut but when he said that, it wasn’t him talking, it was his beast. I dared to look at him and what I found was Aodh, God of the underground himself staring back at me with an evil grin. Eyes as black onyx, deep and monstrous.

“Kill me,” I whispered when I felt the tip of his penis nudge my opening, his claws digging into my wrists and thigh, His massive body pining me, and the blood trickling from my open wounds. The stream of moonlight that poured in through the window bathed Jack’s face, his black eyes glinting with pure evil as the devil shone through them. I closed mine tightly preparing myself for what was about to happen. My wolf was clawing to come out; she was so weak, that try as she might, she couldn’t surface to defend me. My body had given up even if my mind hadn’t and I hoped to the goddess that he would kill me after.

The penetration of Jack’s penis never came, but the warm flow of thick liquid poured onto my bare chest and face. I opened my eyes when Jack’s body slumped heavily on top of me, then his body rolled off me and I shuddered when it hit the floor with a loud thud, and looked down at my blood-soaked naked body.

That shudder lasted and I couldn’t stop shaking, my whole body trembled and I barely noticed the whimpers coming from my quivering lips. I had gone into shock.

Oliver.

He was picking me up off the bed, holding me close to him like a bride. I couldn’t stop shaking and couldn’t see for the tears, but I knew it was Oliver. I sobbed loudly and wrapped my heavy arms around his neck. I couldn’t tell whose blood there was more of, mine or Jack's there was that much covering me.

“I got you, princess. I promised I wouldn’t let Jack hurt you.” I found comfort in his words. He had kept his promise. I stole a look behind him and saw Jack’s body on the floor. A pool of crimson surrounded him and the dark gore was still seeping from the open wound on his neck. His eyes were wide, staring at the ceiling back to that deceiving angelic blue.

Oliver had saved me.

Jack could have killed me, or worse, he would keep me after raping and beating me beyond recognition. “Oliver.” I sobbed hard, my voice shaking as much as the rest of me. But I managed to steady my breathing for a moment “Thank you for saving me,” And squeezed his neck a little.
