The Delta's Daughter Chapter 161
MIKE
The Sea Dogs cells were nothing more than a warehouse with a hidden basement. They were dark, damp, and dank, and held the scent of the ocean. Darrius the wolf shifter, had been tied to a metal chair that was coated in a thin layer of silver. They had stripped him of all his clothing and left him there. The silver was enough to irritate the skin and slowly burn the back of his legs, ass, and balls, but not enough to do any real damage. It was a slow but constant form of torture.
He lifted his head with a whimper when we walked into the large cold and barely lit room. His eyes were red and slightly swollen. Alpha Johns men had worked him over a little. It had already been decided that I, as Kellen’s Beta, would question the man, whereas Tobias would be the one inflicting the pain if need be. There would definitely be a need.
Jonda took a seat at the side of the room and Hunji stood next to her, ready to intervene if and when needed. He looked more like her personal bodyguard in the way he stood there with his arms stiff by his sides and his feet set apart a little, a stern and intimidating look on his face and as usual, his eyes were dark, almost black, and showed no emotion in them.
“Hello,” I said with a false kindness, “Darrius is it” I asked the pathetic wolf shifter who sat in the chair shaking from the slight burn from the chair. He nodded, his eyes wide and fearful.
“Well Darrius, I am here to ask you a few questions, Depending on how your answer, will depend on how well your night goes. You are in a lot of trouble as it is, but you could make this easier on yourself. Are you following me so far” Again he nodded, and I had kept my tone light, maybe a little too friendly.
I gestured at Tobias who picked up a small table and brought it over in front of Darrius and laid out a few tools on the table, ensuring Darrius saw exactly what was on that table. He definitely noticed when he started squirming in his seat.
“First question; where did you get the watch” I said holding up Kellen’s watch which had the inscription Lamia had engraved on it.
He shook his head, “It was a gift.” He lied.
I gave a curt nod to Tobias who, picked a small scalpel and brought it to the man's chest, cutting around his nipple and removing it. The man, Darrius screamed in pain, tears streaming down his eyes as blood pooled from the fresh wound.
“Now, Darrius, I will ask you again. Where did you get the watch”
“I-it w-was given t-to me.” He blubbered. I nodded again Tobias removed his other nipple. His pained screams rang out through the empty room and I felt nothing for what we were about to do to him if he didn't give us answers.
I cast a quick look at Jonda to see how she was handling this and I internally smiled as I saw her sitting with her legs crossed, watching, not affected at all. An Alphas daughter, I thought, She and Lamia would get on very well.
“I want to ask who gave it to you again, but to be honest I don’t feel like taking the long way around. So tell me exactly where you got this watch, who from and where the owner of it is. Or I will let my friend here, carve you up like a fucking turkey.”
“Please, please,” He stammered “I can’t…”
I nodded at Tobias once more. He put the scalpel down and picked up a pair of pliers and some long thick needles. Tobias proceeded to pull a nail from the man’s finger and followed up by shoving the silver needle down into the length of his finger.
The man wailed and cried, begging for mercy. I stood and watched patiently until Tobias had successfully removed every fingernail from one hand and shoved a needle down into each digit. I wondered if I was going too far for a moment but when I looked at Hunji he gave me a look of approval.
“Darrius, Darrius, are you ready for the next hand” I asked, still keeping a cool and calm tone in my voice. Darrius shook his head from side to side violently. Snot and slobber drooled from his face. The man was pathetic and weak. “Are you ready to talk then” I was hoping he would talk before he passed out on us.
He hesitated and I gave Tobias the go-ahead. This time instead of pulling out fingernails, he picked up a sharp sliver knife and slowly carved his left ear off. The screams pierced my ears and I just wanted him to shut up. I sent Hunji a quick mind-link and watched him bend to whisper in Jonda’s ear.
Jonda jumped up from her seat and walked out of the room. A few seconds later she came back in holding a bottle of water and went over to Darrius, she bent down in front of him and opened the water bottle, offering him some and holding the bottle to his lips. He drank gingerly.
“Please Darrius, tell them what they want to know and this will be over quick.” She pleaded to him, her fingers stroking his cheek.
“They will kill me.” He whispered out through his whimpers.
“You will die for your crimes anyway. Would you rather be tortured for days or have an honorable death” She gave him the choice but he snubbed her by turning his head.
Jonda got up and went back to her seat giving me a look as in ‘I tried’ I nodded at Tobias once again, I thought this man was weak, either he didn’t fear us or he feared someone else more.
Tobias began slicing the flesh by his rib cage, filleting the flesh like he was removing the skin of a fish. The agonizing, pain-filled screams echoed throughout the basement, and the smell of his blood permeated the air.
I was about to call for a break once Tobias had finished taking off a good six-square-inch piece of flesh, to regroup, but Darrius began spluttering a string of words in between his pained whimpers and sobbing.
“Please, please, no more. It was Jack the bear, He and the rogue wolf, Oliver they brought him on the boat. They sold him.” I swear I didn’t know. I swear!” He cried out.
“Who Who did Oliver bring on the boat, who did they sell” As soon as I heard the name Oliver, I knew, I fucking knew it was him who took Kellen.
“They, they made a deal with Pete. He wasn’t meant to be on the boat but they brought him last minute.” He cried, blubbering out his words, and began sobbing uncontrollably.
I was getting impatient and crossed the room with inhuman speed my claws extending and canines already elongated as I grabbed him by the throat, piercing the skin in his neck with my wolf's claws. “WHERE THE FUCK IS HE” I roared out with a growl, my voice mixed with Duke’s, my wolf.
“Where the fuck is he” I asked again, not much calmer.
“I don’t know,” He cried “They sold him into slavery; we are just paid to keep them knocked out and transport them. After that, we have no idea.” He cried when I released his neck, shoving him in the process. He was a fucking trafficker, the piece of shit deserved to die.
“I have no more use for you if that is all you can give me.” I turned around ready to walk out, but the man had one last thing to say.
“Vargr, Jack mentioned Vargr. I swear I know nothing else. I swear.” He cried like a three-year-old who had been scolded for hiding.
“I have heard of an Alpha Vargr.” Jonda piped up and that was all I needed.
