The Delta's Daughter Chapter 164

TALA

Between Jasper, Eloise, and I, we had accomplished a lot during the past four days. After my meeting with Kellen and the intimidating talk with Oliver, I was even more determined than ever to help free my mate and get out from under the clutches of my father.

My mother had become violent in the past few days, another type of episode we have seen her have. This time it was triggered because my father had strapped her to her bed, raped her, and then allowed Jack to have his turn while he watched them and at the same time fucked a slave girl right next to her on her bed.

His loyal guard dogs had held me back from the door while I kicked and screamed against them. Her pained screams and cries of help would haunt me for life. I tried to shift but my father’s command had prevented me from doing that.

I could do nothing but cry for her, knowing she had been given nothing to fight off the pain whereas my father had already taken herbs so he could betray her and his wolf would not feel the pain.

He made me sick. If my father’s goal was to make me loath him more than Aodh, our god of the underworld, then he had succeeded.

My mother was strapped down, unable to claw at her chest, but she could certainly feel the pain burning her from the inside out. Even without her wolf she would hurt and want to attack herself. She once described it as her blood boiled so hot that it felt like her insides were liquefying. I shuddered at the thought and could only imagine how much agony she would be in.

The whole palace heard her screams. Everyone knew what was going on, yet no one dared to help. They were too afraid of the repercussions. I fought to get her, wanting nothing but to kill him but all I could do was cry for her as I collapsed to the ground calling to her, pleading to my father behind the closed door to stop, and begging him to show her mercy.

But my pleas were ignored. And my screams got stuck in my throat, choking the strength from me.

When the doors finally opened, Jack and my father came out acting as if they had just finished a movie. Not like they had just raped the Luna. A poor slave girl was dragged behind them.

“You mother fucker!” I shouted and spat at both of them.

“Vargr, it seems your daughter needs to be taught a lesson on how to behave. I would be more than happy to tame her.” I almost threw up when Jack insinuated he would teach me a lesson in manners by sexual method.

I looked my father in the eye, my eyes spearing daggers at him. My only thought was to kill him and my wolf, Mora, was still trying to fight the command, she wanted to shift and tear him apart. “You’re a piece of shit!” I spat at him again, showing my disgust.

He had me against the wall in an instant “Your mother is a whore, and she will be treated like one. She deserves nothing less. She chose this, she chose you!” He growled out at me “One last chance, the next time you speak out of line, I will take your virginity myself! Then I will let my whole army fuck you right in the middle of the arena for everyone to watch.”

I began trembling, the bravery I had just moments ago, slipping away. His hand cut off my airway, but I daren’t move. I saw the truth in his eyes. He meant every word of it.

I felt sick; bile rose up and caught in my throat causing my eyes to swell with tears. How could a father threaten his daughter like that He hated me so much, he thought so little of me that he would even go to those lengths to prove it to me.

He let go and I stayed stuck to the wall while he turned his back and walked away. Jack looked back at me over his shoulder, throwing me a wink making me cringe and bringing back the feeling of wanting to puke.

After checking on my mother and calling for her maid to tend to her wounds, where Jack had got ‘handsy’ and left his claw marks in her, I met up with Jasper and Eloise in the south wing library. A place no one ever went, except the three of us when we didn’t want nosy maids or guards listening in on us.

After recanting the incident with my father and Jack, and finally calming down from the confrontation, we put into motion the beginning of our plan. Hoping like hell, that we could acquire enough allies within our own pack and enough guards that would go against their Alpha and switch to our side.

It wasn’t that pack members wouldn’t want to, they would love to see Vargr fall and have their loved ones set free from working in the mines. Alas, they held that fear of what he might or could do to their families.

It was decided, that Jasper would work on gaining the trust of guards and warriors we knew; targeting friends and those who had family that was enslaved to work in the mines. Eloise would begin spreading the word to the omegas and humans that worked in the palace and I I was tasked with finding a map of the mines and trying to find out who the witch Oliver and Jack were after was.

Jasper had tried to ask his father, but either Beta Baron didn’t know or he was tight-lipped with it. We had to be careful to not ask too many questions or they would be wondering why.

The night after I broke into my father’s office, Lady luck was on my side. I didn’t have to look very hard because the blueprints to the mine were sitting there, rolled out, on the table. Lady luck blessed me twice, I didn’t have a phone and my father hated technology but the one thing he did have, was a copy machine. So I copied the map and was able to put the original back on the table, hopefully, nobody would be any the wiser.

While I was in there I looked around for any information on this witch but Lady Luck was not able to provide me with a charm for the third time.

Yesterday my mother had been feeling better, either that or the drugs had numbed her body. As she left her room and had gotten down to the dining room. A guard had asked if she needed assistance. Whatever was going through her mind at the time, only she would know, as she attacked him, producing a silver knife, the end result was she managed to kill him and had to be subdued yet again. This was no life for her, She was constantly under the influence of drugs. It was no wonder her wolf had left her and her mind was in a constant state of flux.

She had no idea what was real and what wasn't.

Jasper, Eloise, and I were back in the Library. Jasper and I were going to meet with Kellen again tonight and I couldn’t wait. It had been four long days since I had set eyes upon him. My heart fluttered when I recalled our kiss. Kissing him wasn’t enough and I had found myself masturbating to the image of my mate more than once in the past few days.

Finally, nightfall had come and I donned my long cape again, tucking my noticeable bright red hair away, and slipped out my bedroom window, meeting Jasper along the way towards the guard's lounge on the other side of the arena.

When we arrived, Jasper’s trusted guards already had Kellen there waiting for us. As soon as I saw him I leaped into his arms. He welcomed me, enveloping me in his big secure arms and we stood there inhaling each other’s scents, gulping each other in like it was our last breath.

He pulled back, his hands cupping my face as his eyes wandered over me, scanning me from head to toe, like he was assessing me, making sure I was still in one piece. His eyes pained when they landed on the now fading bruise around my neck.

Due to not being able to shift of free will and exerting so much energy these past few days, my wolf had a hard time healing me, and because this injury was not life-threatening she let it heal as a human's injury would. I think what she was really doing was letting our mate see what was really going on because she knew I would never tell him.

“I’m okay,” I whispered when he brought his lips to my forehead, planting a gentle kiss there. I wrapped my arms around his waist and buried my head in his chest. I could hear the erratic beat of his heart and knew he was mad as hell seeing the hand mark around my neck, but holding back because there was nothing that he could do at this moment.

“You need to be careful little flame, I don’t want you putting yourself in a position where you can get hurt. Please, Tala, don’t give him and Jack any reason to hurt you.” The worry in his voice stuck with me and I squeezed him tighter.

“I’ll try,” I told him and heard Jasper scoff behind me.

“She has never been able to keep herself out of trouble.” He laughed “That’s like asking a fish not to swim.” He carried on.

“Jasper, shut up!” I scolded him before he could embarrass me or himself anymore.
