The Delta's Daughter Chapter 14

LAMIA

I had texted Kira to come to my room so we could go to breakfast together. I was just finishing putting on some beige lip gloss; I had thrown on a pair of black jeggings and a comfortable deep plum v-neck tee shirt that hung down to the tops of my legs with a pair of sneakers. I wanted to be comfortable when driving home, plus I had spent a lot more time in the shower than I intended, the warm water soothed the ache between my legs, but every time I thought about why it ached, a different type of ache would take effect, not a bruised feeling but one of arousal. An ache that was desperate to feel Kellen, on me and inside me again.

I felt the pull. I’ve been feeling the pull for a while now, and it’s only been getting stronger. The tingles I feel from his touch ignite a fire in my belly, heating me to the core with want and desire. Albeit, they are not as strong as fated mates, we wouldn’t be eighteen for another four months but the sparks were definitely there last night. Then comes the doubt. What if we weren’t fated mates? And these intense, mind-numbing feelings are just from years of us knowing each other? Our love for each other is just growing, stretching, maturing further. We are wolves, after all, primal and sexual by nature.

All signs point to us being mates, but, there’s still that chance that we aren’t. What happens then? My mother had warned me about this exact situation flourishing. She had put me on birth control at 16, knowing how horny young wolves are, she said she was speaking from experience. She also told me it would be a bad idea to have a sexual relationship with Kellen because there is still that chance that we may not be mates. She explained that because of how close I am to him, that if it so happened Kellen and I weren’t fated, that one of us would be broken hearted. Believe me, there is no one louder than my mom , Aunt Sarah (Kellen’s mom, the queen) and Aunt Olivia (Mike's mom), cheering in our corner, but even they realize it’s a 50/50 chance and just want to save us any potential hurt. I get they love us.

A grim look settled on my face as I looked at myself through the mirror, they would be disappointed in me. My dad will probably try to kill Kellen. I had no intentions of lying to our parents if they asked. I didn’t, however, have to tell them. There was no reason for them to find out, was there?

I was disturbed by my paltry thoughts by a squeal that came from Kira. I hadn’t noticed it when she entered, but along with her brown curls she was bouncing up and down, squealing into her hands that covered the thrilled smile plastered on her face.

“Oh my goddess! You and Kellen did it!” It was a statement she gasped out, a frown disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared from her face. I swear I saw her wolf flash in her eyes, but that too was gone so quickly. Instead, a huge smile replaced any other emotion on her face.

She was my first friend here and we quickly became best friends. At first I thought she was only cozying up to me to be near Mike and Kellen, wanting to climb the status ladder. I quickly got over that thought when she never showed any interest in being with them. She must be the only other girl who wasn’t attracted to them. Usually, their powerful auras, accompanied by their good looks, would draw in any female, young or older.

There was no hiding the thick and heavy scent of our essence. Even though I took a shower, I could smell him not just on me but his scent of spice and pine seeped into my skin. He left his smell all over me, intentional or not, he all but marked me. My nether regions tingled and throbbed at the thought of him scenting me. His wolf was happy and already staking a claim.

I put my finger to my lip telling her to “shush, keep your voice down.”

She jumped over to me, squeezing her tiny arms around me. “Bitch! You better tell me everything!” Again, not a question.

I pushed her back, holding her shoulders, a big grin on my face showing her all my pearly white “OK, OK”. I reassured her “Let’s go get breakfast first. I’m sure you will have a lot more questions later and I will tell you all you want to know while you help me pack. Deal?”

“Deal.” She nodded enthusiastically.

“But no questions until then. Got it? You’re to save them all!”

“Sure, sure, I’ll try my best.” She waved me off, and then lightly smacked my arm. “That was because you didn’t tell me.”

“What did you want me to do? Say ‘hey Kel, can you stop fucking me so I can text Kira and let her know I’m losing my virginity to you, right now, this very moment’ seriously?” The sarcasm dripped from my tongue mockingly.

And in true Kira nature, she squared her shoulders, folded her arms and jutted her chin out, saying “Well, yes. That would have been a start.” Holding the serious look on her face for as long as possible, before, she burst into a fit of laughter. “Oh my Goddess! Could you believe you really did that to him!”

Now it was me doubling over in laughter at thought of his face if I had said that. “Your evil, but shit, that would be worth dying for.”

We were still laughing and making jokes as we reached the top of the stairs when Kira pulled me by the elbow, stopping me from descending, her eyes wide “How fucked up would it be if you were Mikes mate?” Her voice laced with horror, she asked.

Suddenly, I didn’t want to go to the dining hall.

I shook my head at her smirking, remembering “No, he isn’t. We were with him after midnight; he would have felt a pull to me and not gone back to his suite with two she-wolves.”

She shrugged, letting go of me and headed down the stairs.

Seeing the guys were already seated with Travis, Greg and Sam. We headed towards the buffet, grabbing a plate and piling it up with bacon, eggs, sausage and French toast. I was super hungry this morning. The reason was sitting at the table looking all hot and yummy wearing a pair of khaki shorts and a white fitted tee that clung to his muscles leaving nothing to the imagination and making his bronzed skin look even more tanned. I couldn’t help but lick my lips at the sight of him.

Kira sat next to Travis, and I took my place in between Kellen and Mike. There was nothing unusual, until Kellen leaned over, pinched my chin and turned my face towards him where I was met with his moist lips. Instead of his usual kiss to my kiss, it wasn’t a quick peck nor was it a deep sensual kiss. It was soft and lingering for a few seconds, but it made me feel like time stood still and in those few seconds the room went silent, you could hear a pin drop. I had no doubt everyone was staring at us. And I really didn’t care, so long as they didn’t try to start a conversation.

“Hi” he said, smiling and letting go of my chin. I felt my involuntary blush, the heat rising in my cheeks.

“Goddess, this is going to be bad” A playful groan came from Mike, waving his hand between us.

“Fuck off Mike.” I swatted his arm jokingly at his teasing.

“Well, this is new.” Travis casually threw it out there like we were a new game.

All eyes were suddenly on us, ready to bombard us with questions. The heat in my cheeks wasn’t from a blush now, it was from irritation. I didn’t like everyone knowing my business, or at least thinking I wanted to talk about what happened. Inanna didn’t like it either; she didn’t like her actions to be questioned.

“Yah, we had sex, it’s new. Pass me the O.J and you can all get the fuck over it.” I spat out through gritted teeth, hoping they would all drop it, me and Kellen having sex was not up for group discussion. Kellen could tell them whatever he wanted, but I wasn’t going to sit here and talk about it like it was the damn weather.

I watched as Kellen took a bite of his food, holding my breath and cringing. I had stopped tasting and smelling his food a few months after we had arrived here, a habit that was hard to let go of. It wasn’t like the Palace here. It was the same staff here day in and day out, as the palace constantly had people coming and going, which meant I didn’t trust anyone if I didn’t personally know them.

I felt Mike pat me on the back, trying to sooth me. He knew it was still difficult for me to not have control and also knew I didn’t want to discuss my private affairs openly. Luckily, the conversation had turned and was not focused on myself and Kellen.

Taking a huge fork full of eggs and shoving it into his mouth, Greg broke the silence.

“So my father is actually sending my Gamma and top 4 warriors to the palace to train under the Royal guard and Delta Marcus”, he mumbled while still chewing. I crinkled my nose in disgust. My biggest pet peeve was people chewing with their mouths open. His light brown eyes were holding amusement at my cringing. “Sam and I will actually be accompanying them in the next few months. He was speaking directly to Kellen.

Kellen paused eating his food, looking up at Greg; an approving smile graced his lips. “I like it! So the party never really ends, huh? It will be my pleasure to see you at the palace and would be happy to show you and your warriors around the Royal pack.”

“ OK, now I’m jealous! I want to go visit the royal pack too! And I want a personal tour of the Palace!” Kira pouted her lips, true disappointment showing in her eyes. I would love Kira to come and visit us.

“I don’t see why all of you can’t come to visit,” I said, laying my napkin on my plate. I took in Kellen and Mike for a moment. I was sure they would agree with my next statement. The seven of us have grown closer here at the academy over the last year and I could personally admit I would miss the other four at our table. “Kellen and I will be turning 18 in the next couple of months, weeks even, so I would like to officially invite you all to the celebration and extended stay right now and will have invitations sent out to you.”

Kira squealed with elation, clapping her hands like a child and brimming with excitement. I saw both Mike and Kellen from the corner of my eyes nodding with approval. I truly was happy to be going home. Innana had grown restless this last year, even though we shifted in training to fight in wolf form, we hadn’t really been able to shift and run for miles like we could at home.

There was barely a forest here, it was mostly barren land and the territory here (if you could call it that) was small and mostly dirt. Not even high grass fields to hide your wolf in. So it was deemed unsafe and frowned upon to shift and take off. More so, because once a wolf shifted we tend to run for miles and miles, so we would be out of safety from the Academy pretty quickly.

*You are thinking of running?* Kellen’s voice came through our link. I smiled at him. He knew. I knew Conri was just as eager to be let loose in our packlands as Inanna and I was. So I just gave him a nod and he reached over to squeeze my hand.

Breakfast came to an end when Mike’s phone buzzed “They are 2 hours away guys.” He said and looked at us. “Lamia, are you even packed?” He asked. Oh, he knew me so well. “By the look on your face and gulp, I’m going to assume, no.” He chuckled at me. “Kellen and I will bring our stuff down, then I will come see what you need help with and bring your stuff down. My father should be here by then and we can say our goodbyes.”

“I have to meet with Wilson before we leave. Let me know when your father is here, Mike, and I will meet everyone outside.”

I nodded at both Mike and Kellen before they each got up and placed kisses on my head. I loved my boys! I looked at Kira and gave her a nod as if to say: ‘come on then if you want to know shit’. She excused herself, gave Travis a kiss and followed me out of the dining hall.

No sooner had we made it back to my room, she started with the interrogation. I really didn’t expect anything less from her.

“Now spill Bitch!” her hands on her hips, left leg sticking out a little in a demanding pose.

I sighed, opened my closet door to grab my suitcase and started hurling things into it as I told her how everything ….. Just …. Happened.

“I really can’t explain it, Kira. We have always grown up with this weird sibling bond, and even stranger, being able to connect like twins. Shit, we even have the same birth mark...” I pulled down the front of my jeggins to show her the crown on my hip. “But since the overdose incident, something changed, our bond changed. We can feel the sparks, the pull and we crave even more to be near each other. Wh... When we…. Did it; it felt like fireworks were exploding across our skin.” I found it hard to describe exactly how it felt connecting our bodies together, the pure bliss, and eruption of raw emotions that was felt between us.

Her lips were pressed tightly together with a concentrated look as her index finger gently touched the mark I showed her. “Maybe it’s because you shared a bond already and you are feeling the mate pull early.” She mused, standing up straight.

We spent the next hour or so talking, laughing and packing up all my stuff. Just as we had finished, a knock sounded on the door and Mike came in.

“I will meet you downstairs.” Kira excused herself, leaving Mike and I alone.

“Were going home babe, what do you think about that?” He asked. I was captivated by his hazel eyes as they took me in. He ran a hand through his brown locks that were now curling around the nape of his neck and ears and then out stretched his arms gesturing me for a hug. I moved into his embrace, leaning my head against his broad chest which seemed to have gained more muscle in the past few weeks, feeling his warmth and love. He rested his chin on my head, taking a deep breath.

“I’m not mad Lamia” he mumbled into my hair “As I have said before, I will always love you and want you, but I am happy for you guys.”

I moved back a little so I could look up at him, still engulfed in his strong embrace. “Thank you Mike, you mean so much to me and your words are a comfort. I never want anything to come between us. Nothing.” I smiled, meaning every word. We stayed like that, just hugging and feeling the comfortable silence. He didn’t have to say anything; I knew he would always be there for me and I, for him.
