The Delta's Daughter Chapter 228

HUNJI/KIAN

Morgan waded out of the water, her dress clinging to her body. The sheer white material - completely see-through showing off every soft curve of hers. The pink of her nipples on her large breasts teased my eyes. My sight shifted down with much regret until they landed on her flat stomach and the plump curves of her ass.

My body started to come alive again, my dick hardening to stone as I licked my lips. The little temptress had no idea what she was doing to me. Tempting me and my wolf to take what we couldn't have. I closed my eyes when the force of desire internally burned through my body.

I could barely remember what it was like to lay with a female, but Ruda was doing an excellent job of giving me visuals of sinking into her. The visual of what our children would look like heightened the wave of hunger and thirst I had for her.

I jerked off to Tawny all these years, yet I hadn't thought of her body once since finding the little witch. Morgan was starting to consume me and if I wasn't careful, I would find myself giving in to what I was beginning to crave. Her.

"Morgan" my voice was tight, teeth clenched together, thankfully My lower half was still submerged underwater, so she couldn't see exactly what the sight of her in a see-through white dress was doing to me.

"Yeah?" She turned her body more toward me, I closed my eyes again.

"I can see through your dress," I said with a gravelly voice, eyes still shut hoping that when I opened them, I would have better control.

"Oh!" I could hear the slight hint of embarrassment in her voice, "That's okay, I'm sure you have seen plenty of naked women? Looking at me should be no different."

She's right, I have seen many women naked, including our queen and including King Kellen's queen. It was common for shifters. They were not her. I felt no attraction to them whatsoever. With Morgan, there was more than attraction. There was more than desire, there were more than 13 years of pent-up sexual frustration just busting to explode at the seams.

I watched her saunter up the rocky embankment back towards the little cabin, her hips swaying extra wide. She knew exactly what she was doing when she dropped her arms baring her breasts and underwear-clad pussy for my eyes to feast on her slim and curvy body.

“Fuck.” I muttered out loud smacking the water and splashing it in my face. I waited until she had reached the top and started to descend down the other side before, I dared to leave the water. Willing my dick to stand down and right my thoughts that were in the gutter.

‘I want her.’ Ruda pipped up, feeling his lust bleed into mine.

‘Yea, well we can’t have her. She isn’t ours. And we would be breaking an oath to the moon goddess.’  I snarled at him mentally. Frustration at its peak, I picked a few plants seeing as how Morgan forgot, and walked back to the rundown cabin.

I could hear Morgan already inside the shack as I approached. I stood outside for a few moments, rubbing my eyes with my free hand. I didn’t know how much longer I could take being around her and keeping my hands to myself. With Tawny it was easy. There was always a distraction, other people, or events that I could divert my attention to. With Morgan – we were all alone out here. No distractions… except for each other.

“Hey, I got your plants,” I said walking in, keeping my head bowed so I wouldn’t have to look her in the eye or look at her period. I threw the plants I picked onto the dusty wooden table and turned back toward the door. “I’m going to find us something to eat,” I stated, not waiting for a reply before I strode back through the door.

An image of Divya flashed through my thoughts. Ruda snarled and my lips curled at the mere image. The priestess, Asena, once asked me if I regretted my actions because of what they led to. I wanted to say yes, that if I and Ruda hadn’t acted out, we could have avoided all the heartache that followed. I didn’t tell her anything because deep down I didn’t regret killing her. It was either me or her. One of us was going to die. I regret how I did it, but not the act itself.

I have paid for my crimes tenfold. I have suffered a lifetime of being broken and lived a life of servitude. I had to be free sometime, right? I had paid my debt, hadn’t I?

I slipped my shorts off, not wanting to ruin another pair. I only had these and one other left in the bag and Morgan only had one clean dress left. We were out of water and had one power bar left in the bottom of the bag. So, I shifted into Ruda and trotted back towards the small lake to hunt us some food.

Ears back and hunches down - front low to the ground, Ruda spots the rabbit. His eyes trained on the small meal, watching the animal’s movement, ready to give chase at a moment’s notice. He does not stress, he does not worry – Ruda is a skilled hunter, patient and observant. He is in his element. A soundless breath leaves his body as he waits for the perfect time to strike.

The moment is now. He rears back, effortlessly pouncing forward without making a ruckus, and pins the rabbit under his large paw. The rabbit squeals and wriggles calling out in fear. Quickly, second nature to Ruda, he uses his other paw to pull the head of the rabbit – effectively breaking its neck. A growl of satisfaction rumbles from his chest and he gently picks up the dead rabbit in his jaws, walking back to his spot and placing it down with the other two he had already caught.

‘That should be enough Ruda,’ I tell him as he turns to go hunt another.

‘She is hungry,’ He growls back ‘We must provide.’

I chuckle at his determination to please the little witch. ‘She will be fine. Tomorrow we will hunt for more.’ He huffed out, the urge to keep hunting playing on his natural instincts. I could tell Ruda liked Morgan. The little witch had gotten under his fur just as much as she was getting under my skin. Maybe even more so.

Ruda picked up his kill and strutted back to the cabin. His chest puffed out and pride shone in his eyes. He pushed the door to the cabin open to find Morgan sitting at the old rickety table grinding up the plants we had left her. Unceremoniously, he puts his front paws on the table and drops the three rabbits down in front of her. Presenting his kills like the proud Alpha wolf he once was. Always has been, but the years past have never presented the opportunity for him to show his Alpha side – unless in battle.

Morgan startled and scrunched her nose up at the dead animals. A small whimper left Ruda when he saw her reaction. “Are those for me?” Morgan turned her head to look at my wolf, “Did you hunt those for us to eat.” Ruda makes a sound and wags his tail. She smiles, “Thank you, Ruda, they are good kills.” She says while scratching under his chin.

I see and hear it. She may be praising Ruda – appeasing him, but she wears a look of grotesque on her, and I am sure she has no idea what to do with them. Doesn’t matter though, she made Ruda happy and he swells with pride. His job done, and his female happy, he takes us back outside and lets me take control once again.

I shift and slip my shorts back on quickly, taking a moment to rub my hand over the scruff on my face before I go back in there and start to gut and skin the rabbits.

It was becoming increasingly difficult for me to be around her. I know what I wanted, and I know what I couldn’t have. They were the same thing. The wall I had built up around me over the past 13 years was starting to crack. All because of a certain violet-eyed young girl.

I paced. I paced some more. ‘Either shit or get off the pot’ My wolf growled at me.

‘Ruda! We can’t! You took the same oath as me. She. Is. Not. Ours.’  I mentally grind out at him.

‘We suffered human! After all these years we deserve happiness!’

‘The moon goddess…’

He cut me off, a guttural growl filling my ears from within and resonating through my own chest. ‘We have served loyal for 13, nearly 14 years. We have fulfilled our promise to Asena, and we have more than paid our price. The only thing left to give is our blood.’

'I will not ruin her life or ours because we have an itch we want to scratch. And then what? Thirteen years later we return to the sanctuary, broken oath and all?’ He really wasn’t making this easy, at this point I was starting to despise my wolf. His infatuation with the little witch grows every moment we are around her.

Why her? Why did I have to feel an attraction to the one person I shouldn’t want – making it all that more tempting?

An Alpha wolf loves a chase, and this is exactly how Ruda was beginning to see Morgan. He would stalk her and give chase, playing the game until he finally took what he wanted. He was already seeing her as his female. And any shifter can tell you once your spirit animal has latched onto something, they will hold onto it until they have no other choice. A mateless Alpha wolf-like Ruda, well, once he sets on his sights on his prey – he will have it come hell or high water.

“I have never had rabbit, I don’t think. It’s not bad.” Morgan praised.

The fireplace in the rundown cabin was still functional, so I managed to find some kindle – broken pieces of wood from the house – and build a fire. The days were scorching but once the sun went down the nights could get chilly. I roasted the rabbits over the fire, and we sat on the old dusty, and dirty rug. The same one that was here when I found this place and that was over 9 nine years ago. Amazingly it wasn’t half bad. There was a bed upstairs, but that thing had seen better days and when I showed it to Morgan her exact words were “Nope, I will sleep on the floor. You want to sleep in it, go for it.” When she saw the bare and stained mattress on the metal-framed bed. I had to agree, the floor of the cave we slept in was cleaner than that bed.

“So, you have never had Mac n’ Cheese?” I asked her, knowing full well she probably hadn’t.

“Mac and what?”

I laughed at the way she furrowed her brows, “Macaroni and cheese.”

“Macaroni as in the noodles?”

“Yep,” I chuckled knowing where this was going.

“With cheese on it?” She quired, her eyebrows now raising to her hairline, eyes wide with curiosity. I nodded my head, trying to hide my smile. “That… I have had noodles and I have had cheese. Why? Why would anybody throw cheese on noodles?”

I threw my head back and laughed out loud. Something I have done a few times in her company. I didn't laugh very often and it was an emotion that was somewhat foreign to me. “It’s melted cheese on cooked noodles, with milk to thin the cheese out. The first time Queen Lamia gave it to me I was confused, it looked gross. And smelt like a pile of puke.”

“So, what did you do?” She inched closer waiting for my answer.

“Well, I ate it, of course. She wasn’t the Queen then but still when the future queen of shifters tells you to eat something. You eat it.”

“No! was it horrible?” Her hand flew to her chest, shocked that I would eat something that I just said smelled like puke.

“Actually, no. When I lived in the MacTire kingdom, in the castle, Travis the Alpha, and I would sit and eat big bowls of it, mostly before one of us would have patrol duty. I grew quite fond of that dish.”

“Then I will have to try it once we finally get to the first continent.” She smiled at me, a grin so wide she showed off her pearly white teeth and her eyes sparkled with interest. “I am looking forward to seeing this whole other place. It sounds like a completely different realm altogether. Plus, I miss my brother.” Morgan bowed her head, her voice lower with a note of sadness when she mentioned Finnegan.

The air was thick with silence until she broke it. “A lot of people died here.”

“Say what?” Not sure if I heard her right.

“I said, a lot of people have died here. I can sense them; the echoes of their spirits remain within these walls.” She fiddled with the meat on her stick, tearing a piece off and popping it into her mouth, chewing slowly.

“You can see the dead people? Like ghosts?” I asked to clarify exactly what she was saying.

“No, I can’t see them, unless I call them forward or want to speak to them. But I can feel them. It’s like part of their essence remains on this plane after they have died even if there are no bones left. It’s that essence, or as I like to call it, their ‘echo’ - that I can connect to and talk to them.”

I shifted uneasily in my spot on the rug “Do you talk to them a lot?”

She shook her head “No.” tearing off another piece of meat and popping it in her mouth. “I talk to my mom a lot, but mostly it’s her whispering in my ear – guiding me. I was locked away, so I haven’t really had the opportunity to encounter many dead spirits. I think that’s why Orion moved me from the cells to my own room. In case I went crazy because of how many people died under the Megaron. He never did understand how my gifts worked. I don’t think he really cared.”

“I can’t say, the Orion I encountered was a… tyrannical murderer. Power hungry and didn’t care at what cost as long as he got what he wanted.”

“I know that” she sighed “He murdered my mother, remember?”

“Sorry,” I palmed the back of my neck a little ashamed that I hadn’t thought of her feelings.

“No,” She shook her head “Don’t be sorry. I am under no illusion of what a bastard that man was, and I know what he did to his brother and his mate. I know about my half-brother. And I hope to meet him someday.”

“King Mathias – your half-brother – do you know he is the king of shifters, mated to Lamia?” I wasn’t sure how much she knew or what she should know. What I did know was that I didn’t want to keep secrets from her, especially ones that would affect her life in the future.

“Ha!” It was her turn to throw her head back and laugh, and what music that laugh was. The way the light of the fire danced across her porcelain skin, casting shadows over her long slender throat had me shifting in my position again. This time for a different reason altogether. “Silly wolfman. Hello, gift of sight here!” She giggled pointing to herself.

“That’s right,” I smirked. “So how often do you get visions?” curious to know if she had had any more since seeing my brother Abbas.

“I don’t know,” she shrugged. “I can go for weeks without a vision, then one day I could have five visions in a row all completely unrelated events.”

Her head was down as she explained how her visions worked, her hair hiding her face and those mesmerizing eyes. I felt a closeness to Morgan, one I couldn’t explain. The last time I felt something like this was when I met Lamia. So, I didn’t really trust my feelings at the moment, thinking I could be mistaking our lust and desire towards the little witch as something more than it really was. Maybe my strong sexual desire for her was something I had manifested and, in reality - I felt nothing more than the need for companionship.

It was in everyone’s best interest that I keep my distance from her. Hard to do though, when It’s just the two of us embarking on a journey that would take days, maybe weeks. “We will stay here one more day,” I spoke up, my decision coming from out of the blue. “We can rest, and it will give your medicine time to work and ease your sunburn.”

“Oh, that sounds fine. I guess. You are the leader here; I mean it’s not as if I know where we are going.” She smirked tilting her head so I could see her eyes which had the effect of glowing from the light of the fire’s flames. “You do know how to get to Mint, right?”

I chuckled at her question, “Yes, I definitely do. My wolf remembers the way too. And his instincts will guide us.” It was a place I couldn’t forget. I was bound to return to the Sanctuary nestled in the mountains of Mint at some point. I had no idea it would be with a little witch in tow.

“You talk as if you know the place well. Have you been there personally?”

I nod my head and stare off into space, my gaze focusing on a rotting plank on the far wall. “It was my home for over two years. I haven’t been back there in eleven-plus years.”

“Oh!” Surprise laced her voice “So you were born in Eririat but lived in Mint?” I could almost hear the cogs in her head turn as tried to piece it together. “…and Prince Abbas is your – brother?”

“I am the fourth son of King Parviz Tikaani, true heir to the throne of Eririat and as far as they knew, until recently – I was dead.” Maybe if she knew the truth about me, she would want to stay far away.
