Pregnant With Four Alphas' Babies: A Reverse Harem Romance Chapter 128: Captive
*Eli*
My mouth feels like I’ve got an old sock shoved in it, even though I know it’s empty. I can move my tongue around freely. I’ve had a gag shoved into my mouth before, so I know what that feels like, and this isn’t it.
It’s close, though.
I can’t see anything. I have some sort of a blindfold tied around my head. From the smell of it, someone or something has urinated on it recently. Either that, or wherever the hell I’m being kept just smells like a toilet.
Maybe a little from column A and a little from column B.
I feel wood against my back and my legs, so I have a feeling I’m in some sort of a cabin or a small house or something. It doesn’t feel like a large space, but then, I’m not sure. I wish I could shift into my wolf form, but it’s clear that the bindings on my wrists have silver in them. Not only do they sting a little, but they’re preventing me from shifting.
I was in my wolf form when I was drugged, so they must’ve given me something to force me to shift back. I think they at least had the decency to put a pair of shorts on me because it doesn’t feel like I’m completely naked, but still, I have no shoes and no shirt, and I’m sitting in squalor with a desert in my mouth and the smell of bodily fluid filling my lungs.
These folks are a class act, that’s for damn sure.
I try to listen to their voices as they talk across the room. I’m pretty sure I’m in a small place because if it was big, they’d move away from me, right? So far, I don’t recognize any voices, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t Alpha Stephen’s men or Alpha Kane’s who had grabbed me.
“They’ll pay top dollar!” I hear a male voice say. He sounds older and like he thinks he knows everything. “All we need to do is ask!”
“But I heard that King Gene is trying to get rid of all of the Alphas now, all four of the ones from the contest,” another male, this one a little younger, says. “Why would they pay for him if that’s the case?”
“Trust me on this one! I’ve known Gene a long damn time. He’s not going to change his mind now. He’d have to admit he was wrong, and Gene don’t ever admit he’s wrong.” That’s the first guy again.
I hear what sounds like a female, judging by the way she’s making noises in the back of her throat like she thinks they’re both idiots.
She’s probably not wrong.
But she doesn’t say anything, and then we’re back to the second guy again.
“I think we kill him, make a statement, put his head on a lance, and leave it outside of the castle. That’s the best way to get our point across.” He chuckles under his breath and adds, “Literally.”
No one else laughs. The first guy is even more irritated now. “Since when are you in charge of this operation? I’m the Alpha. I’m the boss. We’re doing things my way. End of story!” Then I hear what sounds like a blow and a gasp from I’m assuming guy number two, who I am not a huge fan of after his last suggestion.
“All right, all right,” he says. “We’ll write up a ransom note, Goddess!” the second guy says, apparently recovered from being struck by his alleged Alpha. “Who do we address it to?”
“I swear to the Moon Goddess herself, you are the dumbest fucker I’ve ever met in my life, Melvin!” the Alpha shouts. “King Gene, you moron!” I hear another whack and know that Melvin just got hit again.
I don’t know who Melvin is, but I do have a feeling this so-called Alpha is actually a rogue. I have heard that there are some rogue packs situated between Alpha Stephen and Alpha Kane’s territories, so I’m guessing I was apprehended by one of them.
I wanna swear myself. I remember how confident I was that I could do this mission on my own and how my team tried to dissuade me from it. Now, here I am being held against my will in Goddess knows where….
“Alpha Eli? Can you hear me? Where the fuck are you?”
Trevor’s voice enters my head, and I know that he doesn’t actually expect a response or he wouldn’t be cussing. He must have been trying to reach me for a long time, but I was unconscious, which means he wasn’t able to find me.
“Hey, don’t talk to me like that!” I say, half-joking.
“Alpha?” Trevor’s voice perks up. “Oh, thank the Goddess! We thought you were dead!”
I add everyone who was on the assignment with me into the conversation. “Yeah, well, I’m afraid I have no idea where I’m at. I’ve been apprehended by a pack of rogues. At least, that’s what I think they are. I’m in some sort of a little cabin or something. All I know is that the second in command’s name is Melvin.” I think he’s the second in command anyway. “They’re going to send a ransom note to Gene to try to get me back, but if that doesn’t work, they’re going to put my head on a lance.”
“Where were you when they picked you up?” Cora asks me.
“They shot me with a dart on my way back from Stephen’s lines. I’d say I was probably halfway to the village.” I can’t remember exactly, and my head hurts just trying to think. That’s thanks to the drugs they darted me with, I’m sure.
“Okay, we’ll go back and trace your scent. I take it you’re restrained?” Trevor asks.
“Well, I’m not sitting here on the floor pretending to still be out because it’s fun. Be careful. You might need backup from the other Alphas.” I don’t want Cora, Trevor, or any of my other guys getting hurt because I’m a dumb ass and tried to do something on my own that I shouldn’t have.
“Don’t worry,” Cora says. “We’ll be careful. Just try to keep your head where it belongs in the meantime, Alpha. I’m pretty sure your beautiful Breeder likes your head still attached to your body.
I think about adding, “Both of my heads,” but I keep those thoughts to myself.
And then I hear the female say, “I think our Alpha is awake.”
“What makes you say that?” Melvin asks. “He ain’t talkin’.”
“He isn’t talking to us, but he’s breathing more normally. Skullmark! You were supposed to make sure he never woke up, Goddess damnit!” the Alpha shouts.
“Uh… sorry ‘bout dat boss,” a voice nearer to me says. I take it that is Skullmark.
I try to slow my breathing so they think I’m still out, but it’s too late. I must’ve lost track of that while I was talking to my team.
“They’re knocking my ass out again,” I say to my rescue party as I feel another prick in my arm. There’s no point in trying to struggle when I can’t even see what I’m fighting and the silver is burning into my flesh.
“We’ll find you!” I hear Cora say, and that’s the last thing I hear before everything goes black again.

*Cora*
“We need to hurry!” I tell Trevor. “Let’s go back in the direction Alpha Eli was going in when he was headed to the village.”
“Yeah, come on everyone,” Trevor agrees. “Now that we’ve deposited that bitch, Emily, we can run twice as fast to find the Alpha.”
“I sure hope they don’t decide to kill him,” I mutter, and Trevor gives me a sympathetic look.
In my mind, I am having a completely different conversation, though. “You fuck ups!” I say to my team back at the cabin. “You let him wake up long enough to contact his entire team! Now, we’re all racing back toward Alpha Stephen’s men to try to pick up on Alpha Eli’s scent. Please tell me you were at least smart enough to do something to mask it?”
“Don’t worry, baby,” my mate, Alpha Pike of the Rogue Forest pack, says in my head. “We did plenty to mask it. Even the keenest bloodhound ain’t gonna be able to find this poor bastard’s scent.”
“Yeah, well, if you’re going to negotiate, you’d better get it done fast because Trevor’s nose is pretty good, and he’s liable to find out exactly where you took his Alpha, you dumbasses.” I’m the Luna and the real one calling the shots around here. My mate only thinks he’s in charge.
“Watch your mouth!” he says, as if that’s going to set me straight. “We’re doing this on my time schedule table, not yours!”
I roll my eyes. Every single one of these guys is a genius. “I’ll keep you posted. Just… don’t do anything else stupid!”
“Don’t you worry about me and us,” Pike says. “We don’t do nothin’ stupid around here. And as for the bloodhound, well, if he gets in the way… take him out.”
“Yeah, sure. I’ll just kill the guy in charge of the mission in front of a bunch of other wolves from Alpha Eli’s pack. No problem.” Again, my eyes go up. “Just be ready to hide again if you have to.”
“Yes, Luna,” everyone says except for the Alpha. He says nothing because he knows I’m right.
I glance at Trevor, who is running full speed in his wolf form. Can I take him out and make it look like an accident? We just might have to find out. My pack of rogues has worked too long and hard for this opportunity to let anyone get in the way.
