Pregnant With Four Alphas' Babies: A Reverse Harem Romance Chapter 180: Time to Storm the Castle
*Mark*
I don’t trust this Diana woman, but Tristan and Reece seem okay with her being the one to talk to us for Rose. I have no idea who she is, what her motivation is, or what she’s really trying to accomplish.
But the other two are perfectly fine with it, so I’ll be out voted. I decide to keep my mouth, and my mind-link, shut for now and just head around the back of the castle so that I can help sneak in and attack Kane’s sharpshooters before they can kill any of our warriors.
I am hopeful that this plan of swinging around the back and coming up behind them will help us to get rid of as many of their armed men as possible.
It makes me disgusted to think of Alpha Kane opening fire on a group of wolves. That’s just wrong! We are animals, meant to fight with teeth and claws, not to shoot one another like men. If we were incapable of shifting from our human forms to our wolf forms, there wouldn’t be anything wrong with it, but we may as well not even be able to shift if they are going to fight like men.
I tear around the back of the castle, gathering many of my best troops with me as I go. It seems quite clear that the battle here is even. We haven’t sent our entire force in yet, but now that we are on the scene and have everyone, we can. I want only my best warriors running full speed ahead at those sharpshooters, though.
As we run, I remind them, “These are armed, dangerous lunatics, so be fucking careful! They will shoot you, and take you out, no questions asked. Those bullets are huge, so it’s not just gonna be a flesh wound or a little tickle. You zig and zag, stay down, and steer clear. You got it?”
“Yes, Alpha,” they all say in unison, and we turn the corner to run behind the castle and come up the other side, narrowing in so that we are close to the brick wall that makes up the exterior of the castle..
When we do that, we are actually behind their forces since my men have managed to keep them at bay while we slid through a break in their line. Sprinting around the corner, I see that Tristan and Reece have managed to do something similar, and all three of us are converging on the line of armed sharpshooters standing in front of the castle, their weapons at the ready.
We slow down as we approach so that they won’t hear us coming, spreading out across the back of their line. It isn’t until we are close to within twenty paces that one of the commanders sees us. His mouth opens, and he begins to shout something to the others when I barrel into him, knocking him backward onto the ground. The others arrive at their targets at the same time, and we hear the shouts of the men in their human forms as they hit the hard dirt on their backs. Only a couple of the sharpshooters manage to get a shot off, and I don’t hear any screams or howls of pain as they do, so I am hopeful that that means that no one was injured.
I don’t hesitate to rip the throat out of the man I’ve got pinned to the ground. Normally, we would take the time to let the humans shift into their wolf forms before we fight, but in this case, these bastards were trying to cheat, so they deserve to die without truly being able to fight us off.
The taste of aluminum fills my mouth as the man’s blood squirts between my teeth. As soon as he stops struggling, I let him go and move to the next, but all of the sharpshooters are down, so I charge at the line of wolves that are now in front of us.
A lot of them are panicked as they are now sandwiched between our line that managed to get behind them and the warriors we left out in front. They come flying forward now, having managed to keep from getting shot, and now we are able to tear through Alpha Kane’s line from both directions.
Most of Kane’s wolves try to run. They attempt to skirt between us and take shelter in the castle, but we are too angry and too quick for that. I grab a large black wolf by the back leg and pull him down, hard. His front paws fly through the dirt as he tries to get away, but I’m not going to let him, and as my teeth tear into the calf muscle on his right leg, my teeth ripping through flesh as he whimpers and continues to claw at the dirt where a stream of blood is now forming.
I use my claws to grab hold of him and yank him back in my direction. Once I have a good grip on him, I sink my razor-sharp claws into his gut and rip down. That gives me the opportunity to let go of him and tear into his neck with my teeth. A moment later, he’s done moving. Forever.
I stand up and survey the battlefield. We clearly have them outnumbered now, and everywhere I look, Kane’s wolves are either on the ground or groveling, begging for their lives the best they can without actually being able to speak to their attackers since we are all in our wolf form, and they are not in the same pack.
In my head, I hear cries of mercy from wolves who know that we Alphas can hear them even if the others can’t, but I ignore them because I am looking for Kane. I do not see him anywhere, and I suppose he must be in the castle then.
“Let’s find Kane!” I shout to Reece and Tristan, and since they are done fighting their enemies as well, we take off toward the door.
A guard is standing there in his human form, completely unarmed, and I can tell by his wide eyes and the fresh smell of urine he is petrified. I’m not sure what good he is supposed to do, but he can either cooperate with us or join his friends on the ground.
The three of us stop and growl at him, and within seconds, he yanks the door open for us. “That’s what I thought,” Tristan says in my head. Behind us, I hear the sound of dozens of wolf paws as our troops storm into the castle. I give the instruction to my troops, “Do not hurt any of the wait staff! No maids, butlers, or otherwise noncombatant pack members, understand?”
A chorus of, “Yes, Alpha!” comes through my head. We move on, spreading out, listening as the wolves behind us head down different hallways and find warriors who are hiding.
I sniff the air and pick up a faint scent I know is Alpha Kane instinctively. I can smell his masculine scent as one Alpha to another.
I take off running in that direction, the other two Alphas with me. This needs to end now. When we find him, Alpha Kane is a dead man.
