Pregnant With Four Alphas' Babies: A Reverse Harem Romance Chapter 155: She Ran Away
*Tristan*
It seems like Reece and I have been running for hours and finally, the castle is in sight. We’ve been silent the whole time; we don’t have to talk to know that we both have the same thoughts about saving Rose.
I pray to the Goddess that she and our pups are okay.
We both shift back to our human forms as we enter the castle gate, where some servants are always waiting with standard-issue sweatpants. I don’t want to take the time to put them on, but we do it quickly and run down the hallway toward Rose’s room.
But we don’t make it that far before we run into Mark in the hallway. He looks like he’s going somewhere in a hurry, too, and he’s not headed in the direction of Rose’s room.
“Walk with me,” he says quickly, and he’s moving a lot faster than walking, but we keep pace with him. We don’t even have to ask him what’s going on. “Whoever took Rose dragged her through the secret passageway and out the library door,” he says.
Reece and I nod, and our pace quickens a bit. By now, I can see that we are heading toward the dungeon, but I don’t ask any questions.
“They found a syringe next to her.” His voice changes tone when he says it, and my heart freezes, but I keep walking with him. “Apparently, it’s the same drug they use to keep prisoners under control.”
“Is it safe?” I ask. I can tell Reece is thinking the same thing. If we know what the drug is, we can probably find out from the doctor just how dangerous it would be for Rose and the pups.
“I haven’t had time to find out yet,” Mark says. “First, we need to get to the dungeon. When they took Rose outside the castle, there was a scuffle, and one of the guys was captured.”
At that, I break into a run, and the other two Alphas keep pace. We are going to find out what happened and where she is from this guy. I know that he’ll have to answer all of our questions, especially with three strong Alphas pressuring him.
We get to the dungeon entryway and the guards there give us the sign of respect and moved aside. Everyone in the castle knows that one of us, or Eli, will one day become Alpha King, and they aren’t going to stand in our way, that’s for sure.
The smell of mold and urine is thick in the air as we walk up to the guard station where the man who keeps track of the prisoners is stationed.
“We’re looking for one of your newest prisoners,” Mark tells the man. “He would have been captured just outside the castle wall.”
The man nods right away. “Cell A five,” he says simply.
None of us have ever been in the dungeon before, and we must look like it, because he walks around his desk and leads us over to the first row of prisoner cells. He motions to one on the left, where a lone shifter is huddled against the back wall looking terrified.
“Let us in,” I say.
The guard nods and gets out his keys, opening the door for us and standing back as we enter the cell. The dungeon is dimly lit, but I can clearly see the whites of the shifter’s eyes grow as he glares at us in sheer terror.
“D—don’t kill me, please sirs,” he begs of us.
“That’s going to be entirely up to you and what you choose to tell us,” says Mark, clearly using his Alpha voice.
It makes the man shudder even more. “W—what do you want to know?” he asks.
“Who sent you?” Reece asks. “Where is Rose? And who took her?”
The man doesn’t even hesitate to answer. “A-Alpha Kane,” he says. “But I have no idea where he’s keeping her. We were instructed to meet his contact here and help get the Breeder to him.”
“Who was the contact?” I ask.
“I—I don’t know her,” he says “Some broad, but I wasn’t looking at her. I was trying to grab the Breeder and then the soldiers came up on us.”
“A woman then,” I say.
“Y-yes, sir,” he answers.
I move closer to him so that my face is right in his and in my strongest Alpha voice I say, “I need you to tell me where she is. If you know anything, anything at all, tell me now.”
“I—I don’t, I promise, sir,” he says. “We were told to take the Breeder back to Alpha Kane, but I don’t know where she is now.”
I look at the other Alphas, and I can tell that we all have the same fear running through us. The thought of our beautiful Rose in the hands of that evil Alpha is unbearable. And it’s so much worse knowing that she carries our four children with her. Our entire family is in danger, and we have to move fast.
I’m also confident that this shifter has told us everything he knows. Alpha Kane would never let his flunkies in on all of his plans. I’ve been exerting enough of my Alpha influence over him that there is no way he could by lying to me.
Reece turns to the guard. “Knock this man out,” he says. “And keep him out until we say otherwise.”
This is a good decision; this shifter could warn Kane the moment we leave, when he’s out of our control. We need to be sure that he doesn’t tell Alpha Kane that we know he has Rose.
The guard nods and took a syringe out of his pocket. I hold the prisoner while the guard administers the drug, and seeing that sharp needle, knowing that the same type of thick needle had penetrated Rose’s tender skin, makes me feel sick instantly.
As soon as the man passes out, we leave, ensuring that all the guards know that the prisoner had to stay unconscious until we say otherwise. It has to be the same thing that they’re doing to Rose right now since none of us can reach her in the mind-link.
We exit the dungeon and head back upstairs, glad for the fresh air.
“Kane has a tent set up on the front,” says Mark. “It looks like a permanent setup the way it’s so elaborate, so I don’t see him going back to his castle anytime soon. And I don’t think he’d trust his people enough to let Rose out of his sight.”
“You think he’s holding her on a battlefield?” Reece asks.
He looks as horrified as I feel. At this point, I’m not sure how I’m even functioning with the way the pain inside is radiating out from my chest. Our Rose—and our babies—are out in the middle of a battlefield?
“Well, obviously, we need to get there as soon as we can,” Mark says.
All three of us were already running.

*Adam*
“Adam?!” comes a bellow from down the hallway.
I cringe at the sound. The last thing I need is to deal with King Gene instead of helping the Alphas find Rose. I turn sideways and pretend I didn’t hear.
“ADAM!!”
It doesn’t work.
I turn around and paste a fake smile on my face, the same one I’ve been wearing for years since this selfish bastard took the throne. “Yes, Your Majesty?” I ask.
“You fucking idiot!” he says, still hollering even though he’s just inches away from my face now. “I’ve been yelling at you from the end of the hall. You’re a wolf! Use your fucking sense of hearing!”
“I’m terribly sorry, Your Majesty,” I say with false sweetness in my voice. “What do you need, Your Grace?”
“I need—” he begins, but then he stops speaking and looks confused. “Oh. Yes. The fucking Breeder. What’s this shit I hear about the Breeder escaping?”
“Escaping, sir?” I wonder first where he was getting information, then I feel concerned about how it’s being disseminated to him. Who in the castle is telling him that Rose is trying to escape?
“Yes, escaping,” he repeats. “The Breeder. The one heavy with pups about to crawl out any minute now. The servants are talking about how she’s missing.”
“I don’t think ‘escape’ is quite the word to characterize it, Your Majesty,” I tell him, although I’m not sure why I’m bothering to explain anything to him. “She’s been kidnapped.”
“Kidnapped?” he says. “Why the fuck would anyone want her with all those pups crawling out any second now?”
I really don’t have time for this, so I need to just get rid of him. “I’m looking for her now, if you’ll allow me,” I say.
“Oh. Well, carry on then!” he says, marching past me like he’s got somewhere to go or something to do.
He doesn’t.
But I certainly do. If I can’t find Rose quickly, who knows what will happen? They took her right out from under me on my watch, so it’s all my fault. Maybe I am an idiot like Gene says.
A voice comes into my head. “Adam!” It’s Alpha Tristan. “We’re here, and we know where Rose is!”
