Pregnant With Four Alphas' Babies: A Reverse Harem Romance Chapter 74: The Answer
*Mark*
When the first light of the day shines through the lace curtains in Rose’s room, she is still asleep, leaning her head on my chest. I know I have to go meet with the other Alphas, but I really don’t want to leave her. I let them know the night before that she is fine using the mind-link.
I kiss the top of her head, and her eyes flutter open.
“Morning, love,” I whisper groggily, praying I don’t have morning breath.
She rubs her face onto my chest, and I wonder if maybe I do, in fact, have morning breath.
“Morning,” she answers.
“Kelly will be up shortly with your breakfast,” I tell her.
She smiles and yawns, making a cute sound. “I guess you have to leave now?”
I nod. She tries to sit up, and I help her.
“I’ll come and check on you later, baby.”
When I finally leave, she’s in the bathroom, freshening up for the day. I fight every urge to join her in the shower.
Going to my room, I manage to have a quick shower and brush my teeth before heading over to Eli’s room. The other Alphas are already there when I arrive.
“Hey, look who’s here,” Eli says as I enter the room. The smell of toast, bacon, and eggs greets me when I enter, making my mouth water.
“Since when do we have breakfast in here?” I ask, confused.
“Since y’all decided you love my room so much you turned it into your personal man cave,” Eli replies humorlessly.
I walk over to the table where an assortment of food, coffee, and juice is laid out. I start buttering a slice of toast and then pour myself some orange juice.
“So I heard someone weeping last night in Rose’s room. The voice didn’t sound feminine, it sounded rather deep… like this,” Tristan says as he proceeds to bray, mimicking a donkey.
“Shut up!” I yell.
“Ohhh, boy. What was she doing to you that made you cry like that?” Tristan asks.
“Nothing I want to discuss with any of you,” I answer, and I bite into my toast.
“Maybe she was getting her revenge. He spanked Emily, so maybe she was spanking him,” Reece says and snickers.
I give him a stern sideways glance.
“Whatever she did, man, she really had you going. It’s okay though. We know it’s been a while since you got some. The release of all that tension must have been explosive,” Eli exclaims.
I want to tell him he doesn’t know the half of it, but I’m not one to kiss and tell.
“So, when are we going to go talk to the king?” I ask.
“We already did,” Tristan tells me. My eyes bulge at him.
“Really? Without me?”
Eli nods. “We couldn’t wait. He told us that he has no intentions of hurting Rose,” Eli says.
“Well, he’s a lying ass-head, so we have to be careful. Of course, he assured us that ‘the Breeder’ will be kept safe after giving birth and returned to her home. He wouldn’t be stupid enough to admit that he wants to get rid of her,” I warn.
“You know who we need to get rid of?” Reece asks.
“The lying ass-head?” Tristan asks.
“Emily,” Eli clarifies.
“You should have allowed me to spank her that night, Marky-Mark. I would’ve spanked her right into another dimension. Problem solved. Spanking is not for the softies; it’s for seasoned experts like myself,” Tristan exalts himself, making us all laugh.
“I think if you ask her nicely, she might just allow you to spank her. I don’t think she was satisfied with Marky-Mark,” Reece adds.
“Argh, nah. I have a better plan. I can dip my magic wand sex toy into the water so when she rubs her privates with it, she gets electrocuted. Bye-bye little piggy,” Tristan cackles maniacally.
We all turn and gape at him.
“Why in the world do you have a magic wand sex toy?” Reece asks. “And why would it work that way?”
“‘Magic’ is the key word bro.” Tristan wiggles his eyebrows at him and licks his lips. “The ladies love that shit. Sex and magic, I do that well.”
I pick up some bacon and shove it in my mouth. Last night Rose and I made love twice, and I feel like I need to replenish my energy.
“Should we ask the kitchen to send up more food, Marky-Mark?” Tristan asks.
“Stop calling me that,” I growl at him.
“Why, Marky-Mark? The name suits you. Did Rose transfer some of her pregnancy hormones to you during the rhumba in between the sheets? You’re shoving in food like you’re eating for five,” Tristan continues.
“Allow the man to eat. We need solutions, and Marky-Mark thinks better when he is well fed,” Reece says patronizingly.
“Stop calling me that,” I warn him.
“Yes, guys. Come on. Stop calling Marky-Mark that,” Eli declares.
I take a sip of my juice and roll my eyes. Fighting this name is only urging them on.
“I think the only way to get rid of Emily is to find her another suitor,” I suggest.
“See, I told you he thinks better on a full tummy. Just a few quick questions. Where will we find this suitor? How will we get Emily to fall for him? Will the king let her marry someone else?” Reece asks reasonable questions.
I take another sip of my juice.
“Yes, drink that magic juice. We need your awesome brain to think,” Tristan cheers.
“We’ll invite some Alphas and Betas to the palace for her. Their job is the easiest part; Emily will fall for anyone who’s willing to play her games. A little spanking here, a little feather tickle there, a few charming words thrown into the mixture, and bam! Wedding bells,” I explain.
“Are you sure this will work?” Eli asks.
“All that girl needs is a bunch of men showering her with attention, fighting over her, even. The moment she feels like she is now the belle of the ball, she’ll focus her energy there,” I reason.
“I think that could work. What about King Gene? Will he let her be with someone else?” Tristan asks.
“He has a soft spot for his cousin. She also has a way of making him do whatever she wants. If she bats her eyelashes at him and tells him she’s in love, he’ll let her go,” I predict.
“We should give all of this a try then. I just hope it works,” Tristan says.
I finish up my juice. “It has to,” I say defiantly.
“Any ideas on the list of Alphas and Betas we should invite?” Eli asks.
“We should sit down and come up with a great list. We’ll ask Beta Adam to help organize all of this,” Reece coordinates.
I pour myself another glass of juice, wondering why the other guys haven’t touched the food. “Why are you guys not eating?” I ask.
“You’re eating enough for all of us,” Reece teases.
“If this food is poisoned, that means I’ll be the only one who dies,” I point out.
“The food isn’t poisoned. In the early days, I might have considered getting rid of the three of you so I’d have Rose all to myself. But now I feel like we are the Musketeers,” Tristan says.
“Musketeers?” I look at him confused.
“Yeah. You know that reference. From The Three Musketeers? Don’t tell me you never read that book as a child,” Reece raises an eyebrow at me. “Although, there are four of us instead of three.”
I try to think if I remember anything of that sort, but nothing comes to mind. “Nope, I don’t know the book,” I answer.
“Okay, we are the Galaxy Defenders team. And when we combine our forces, we become Voltron,” Tristan says. “Maybe you watched cartoons?”
“Who’s Voltron?” I ask. I suddenly feel like I’ve been living under a rock.
Tristan shakes his head with a look of disappointment on his face. “Never mind. We’ve all eaten already, so if the food was poisoned, we’d all be dead. Also, all my references mean that we make a great team, and I wouldn’t share this experience with anyone else but the three of you.”
We all nod in agreement, glad someone has finally said it.
