I pulled out my phone and pretended to make a call, not actually dialing anyone. After a moment, I started faking a conversation.

"Hey, Mr. Johnson? Remember we talked a while back?"

"Yeah, nothing major. Just wanted to let you know we’ve got some new projects coming up. Thought you might be interested, maybe we could sit down and discuss some potential collaborations."

"Most of these projects are related to drones. You know, our company’s recently gotten into the drone industry..."

During the fake call, I mentioned a project Asher had bid on previously.

That project wasn’t related to drones, and our company hadn’t planned to move into that field. But when Asher mentioned it, we did see potential in the industry.

I didn’t expect NexGen Innovations to beat us to it.

Thinking about it made me fume.

"I know you’ve done well over the years, so I thought you might be interested in investing..."

"I don’t mean to impose, but if we do collaborate, there’ll definitely be benefits."

I spoke slowly, giving Savannah enough time to observe.

I had to think about how to make pauses in my speech, making it sound like a real conversation.

After a while, Savannah glanced at me. I knew it was time, so I wrapped up the fake call and hung up.

I sighed dramatically.

"Man, business is getting tougher and tougher to discuss these days..."

"I really don’t know where to find partners anymore!"

I then lowered my voice and walked over to Savannah, texting her to ask if she had found anything.

Savannah nodded and pointed to a bouquet of flowers.

I took a closer look and realized that the bouquet wasn’t particularly eye-catching. Among the few bouquets sent by partners, this one was the most ordinary.

"The person who sent these flowers is pretty sneaky, hiding their intentions so well!"

I whispered to Savannah with a bitter smile.

Savannah, still staring at the flowers, whispered back, "Good, this volume is too low for the bug to pick up."

She pulled me closer to inspect the bouquet.

That’s when I saw it—a small black device hidden among the flowers.

It was so small that it was almost impossible to notice unless you looked closely. It was attached to the foam holding the flowers, blending in perfectly.

I thought to myself, Savannah is amazing. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t have found it in days.

We pretended to have more business to discuss and left the office, moving to a nearby conference room.

As soon as we left the office, we both sighed in relief.

Maybe it was the strange feeling that office gave us.

"Can you believe this? I thought everything would be fine after divorcing Brandon and getting the company back! Now I have to act like a thief in my own company!"

I lamented to Savannah.

Savannah frowned, "Did you see the red dot I pointed out? When it captures sound, it flashes! I never thought they'd hide something like this in the flowers!"

"Yeah, I saw it. Thank goodness you were here. If it were just me, who knows when I would have found it!"

I sighed.

Savannah reassured me, "Don't say that. You were the one who suspected the flowers might have a bug in the first place. We followed your lead. You're pretty smart too!"

"Alright, I'll give myself some credit..." I laughed.

Unexpectedly, just as Savannah and I sat down, Simon walked in.

He must have asked Madeline where we were, and she cautiously told him we were in the conference room.

When he saw us, he sighed in relief, "Why are you two here? Why not in the office?"

I looked at him and asked, "Didn't Royce tell you? My office isn't safe anymore. There's likely a bug in there!"

Simon blinked, remembering, "Oh, I forgot... There's been so much going on, investigating that house, and the whole Red Spider Lily thing, my head's spinning!"

"By the way, any leads on that?"

Mentioning the Red Spider Lily made me uneasy.

This person was like a ghost, appearing and disappearing without a trace.

We didn't even know if they were male or female, or how old they were!

Looking at the papers, I tried to recall, "Based on their disgusting chat logs, they must have met in person. But we don't know if they showed their true face."

Simon shook his head, "We don't know."
