Simon seemed to sense my agitation and tried to calm me down. "Hey, take it easy. If I find anything else, I'll let you know right away."

I hung up the phone, feeling a bit reassured.

But the faces of Lowell, Brandon, and the others kept flashing in my mind.

And the most troubling question was, was Red Spider Lily really the mastermind behind everything?

If so, how could he manage to connect everyone with just a single point of contact?

Staring at Brandon's name, I circled it with my pen, then added the Jordan family to the map, detailing their connections.

The paper was soon filled with names and lines, forming a complex web of relationships.

But I still had no idea how to untangle this mess.

Although I hadn't found any new leads, Simon gave me a definitive update."Caroline, we tracked down Lowell and Brandon. They're not living together, and their lives aren't great, but they're not hiding out together either."

I was a bit surprised by this news.

I had always thought Brandon and Lowell were in cahoots, especially since Lowell had picked him up that day.

So, were they really not conspiring together? It seemed unlikely!

Confused, I shared all my thoughts with Simon and sent him a photo of the relationship map.

Despite his words, I still felt uneasy about the whole situation.

But I decided to put it out of my mind for now.

The next day, I told Kathy and the others that I wanted to take the kids on a spring outing.

Even though the leads on Brandon and Lowell had dried up, I was still determined to take the kids on the outing.

I shared the plan with Royce, and he found us a perfect spot for a picnic and camping.

The campsite was nestled at the foot of a mountain, surrounded by beautiful scenery and top-notch security, with an entry fee to ensure privacy.

Royce had taken care of all the arrangements and even came to pick us up the next morning.

Considering the kids were still young, I decided to leave the other children at home and only take Brett. Kelly and Zola promised to take good care of the others and encouraged me to enjoy the outing with Brett.

Brett was over the moon about the picnic. He packed his little backpack with his favorite snacks, all prepared by Kelly.

We were in high spirits on the way there, and the campsite exceeded our expectations. It had everything we needed, including tents.

We could easily spend the night there.

I bit my lip and said, "But most of the people here are women. How can we include Leo in our conversations?"

Royce scratched his head and replied, "Don't worry. If it gets awkward, I'll talk to Leo one-on-one. After all, I'll be the odd man out, so we should have something to talk about."

That seemed reasonable, so I nodded and said, "Alright, just play it by ear. If it doesn't work out, you can always leave early."

Although I was still processing Royce's unexpected plan, my mood improved as we set up the campsite.

Kathy and the others arrived one by one and were delighted with the convenient setup. We sat together and caught up on recent events.

Kathy mentioned that she had received several big orders since the private fashion show and had been working non-stop, almost to the point of exhaustion.

I smiled and said, "That means you're on the rise, Kathy. Soon, it'll be hard to book you. When will you set aside some time for your friends?"

As expected, Leo seemed uncomfortable around us. After chatting for a bit and giving Briar some instructions, he got up to take a walk alone.

Royce noticed and followed him.
