Royce's actions always caught me off guard, sometimes making me a bit shy!

But I knew this was his way of showing affection, so I didn't overthink it. We chatted for a while before reluctantly saying goodbye.

A few days later, Leo was the first to return.

He called me and said, "Caroline, I didn't agree to have dinner with you last time because I was swamped and had a business trip coming up. My tone wasn't great. Now that I'm back, if you're still up for it, let's meet and chat."

Hearing this news, I was instantly thrilled.

I had been eagerly waiting for this response, and now it finally came!

I shared the good news with Royce that evening. Royce suggested that I meet Leo alone, maybe just bring Savannah along.

He thought it would be best if no one else came, as it might distract Leo.

I asked, "Are you sure just the two of us is okay? Should we bring the kids?"

Royce insisted it was better not to bring the kids, as it would make us less comfortable.

So, it was decided that we would meet without the kids.

After hanging up, I coordinated with Leo on our schedules and we set the meeting for the next afternoon.

I had already talked to Savannah, and she agreed to come with me.

"How's it going on your end? Any news on Aurelia?"

There was a lot of background noise on Kathy's end, like wind, "I've been swamped these past few days, but Royce's people have been following them. Maybe you should ask Royce if they have any leads... I've been so busy! There have been several back-to-back exhibitions by indie designers, and I've been attending them all..."

Kathy sounded cheerful as she talked about her work. "I've gotten a lot of inspiration and plan to make some new clothes. So, I haven't been focusing on Aurelia, but I did find some of their activities. I'll send you some screenshots."

Kathy had Aurelia as a friend?

That was unexpected. I didn't know when they connected.

But considering Aurelia attended that private custom event, she might be a client, so it made sense they were in touch.

I waited for Kathy to send the screenshots, and soon enough, she did, along with a voice message.

I played it and heard Kathy say, "I've been too busy to help you with that, but let me know if you need anything. As long as I'm in Oceancrest City, I can help investigate. From what I know, Aurelia hasn't left yet. I'll keep an eye on her for you."

I replied with an "ok" and then opened the screenshots Kathy sent.

It was Aurelia's Facebook.

Aurelia's Facebook portrayed her as a refined, elegant woman, similar to Maeve's Facebook.

But Maeve's profile emphasized a carefree, unrestrained lifestyle.

Aurelia, on the other hand, constantly highlighted her capable husband and posted about their romantic getaways.

Her relationship with Alfonso seemed more like a strategic alliance, which I found pretty amusing.

After scrolling through her posts for a bit, I asked Kathy when she and Aurelia became friends.

"A few days before that private custom event. She said she wanted to attend and asked me about clothing design..."

Kathy explained, and I frowned.

Aurelia's behavior was odd.

If she just wanted to connect with Kathy about design, she didn't need to go to such lengths.

But at the private event, she barely spoke to Kathy and came straight to me.

I felt she had a specific goal in mind.

The fact that she knew I would be at the event was intriguing.

I suggested to Kathy, "If you two have met before and are Facebook friends, maybe you could 'accidentally' run into each other in Oceancrest City?"

"How would we run into each other? Our routines are different. She's always out eating and having fun with her friends..." Kathy suddenly caught on, "You mean a planned encounter?"

"Why not? It could help you get some information from her. What do you think?"

Kathy thought for a moment, "That could work. I'm free the next couple of days. I'll check with Royce about Aurelia's plans and see if we can arrange a meeting."

"Thanks a lot."

After hanging up, I felt relieved.

At least the investigation was moving forward, giving me some peace of mind.

But when Royce heard about my plan, he looked concerned.

"What's wrong? Do you think the planned encounter is a bad idea?" Seeing Royce's expression, I asked cautiously.

"It's not that it's a bad idea. I'm just worried that giving Kathy this task might interfere with her work. And if Aurelia is as cunning as you say, it could alert her."

I shook my head, "I don't think Aurelia is that cunning... If she were, she would have approached me before going to Oceancrest City."

"Think about what we've learned. Aurelia doesn't like going out much, except when she first got together with Alfonso and wanted to show off their relationship."

We still believed that her behavior back then was orchestrated by Alfonso.

"Look at these screenshots." I handed my phone to Royce.
