Whenever I felt lost or anxious, Royce was always there to comfort me and handle things.

I secretly decided to give him a chance to officially become part of my family.

After all, we were now officially dating.

Since Royce and I got together, it felt like a new energy had been injected into my life.

Brett always had a great impression of Royce. Every time he saw him, he would happily run over, grabbing his hand and asking him all sorts of questions.

I stood to the side, watching their interaction, feeling a wave of warmth in my heart.

Royce's patience and care for Brett made me feel incredibly at ease.

From the way he treated Brett, I could imagine how he would interact with the other three kids.

"Come on in," I said with a smile.

Royce walked in with the gifts, and I took them from him. "Why did you bring so much?"

Royce smiled, his tone light. "It's my first time officially visiting. I couldn't come empty-handed. These are for Mrs. Sharp and the kids."

I nodded, feeling touched.

He was always so thoughtful, considering even the smallest details.

We walked into the living room, where Kelly and Zola were busy in the kitchen.

Hearing the commotion, Kelly peeked out with a smile. "Royce is here, come in and sit down. Dinner will be ready soon."

Royce nodded politely. "Thank you, Mrs. Sharp. Can I help with anything?"

Kelly waved her hand, her tone teasing. "No, you're a guest. We can't let you do any work. Caroline, you take Royce to sit down. We'll be done soon."

I smiled and led Royce to the couch.

Our cat, Nala, followed and rubbed against Royce's leg.

Brett squeezed in between us, holding a storybook.

He eagerly handed it to Royce. "Mr. Castillo, can you read me a story?"

Royce took the book and nodded with a smile. "Sure, which story do you want to hear?"

Brett flipped through a few pages and pointed to an illustration. "This one! I want to hear this one!"

Royce began reading the story to Brett, his voice deep and gentle.

I sat beside them, watching their interaction, feeling a bit dazed.

Honestly, Royce would make a great father.

His patience and gentleness were qualities I couldn't always maintain.

Brett's laughter reminded me that this was real.

The warm scene in front of me made me want to capture the moment forever.

I secretly took out my phone and snapped a photo.

Before long, my mom and Zola brought out plates of delicious-smelling food from the kitchen, calling us over. "Come on, dinner's ready!"

We gathered around the dining table, which was filled with a feast.

Kelly had made several of her specialty dishes.

Zola had also made four dishes, filling the table completely.

Royce looked at the spread and couldn't help but praise, "Just looking at this makes my mouth water. I'm going to enjoy this meal."

Kelly beamed with pride. "Oh, it's just some home-cooked food. I'm glad you like it."

I placed a piece of pork chop on Royce's plate, smiling. "Try this. My mom's pork chops are the best."

Royce took a bite, his eyes lighting up. "Delicious! Mrs. Sharp, your cooking is restaurant-worthy."

Kelly blushed a bit at the compliment, waving her hand. "You young people sure know how to flatter. Royce, don't just praise me, eat more."

Brett joined in, placing a piece of fish on Royce's plate. "Mr. Castillo, try this fish. Grandma's fish is the best!"

Royce smiled and patted Brett's head. "Thank you, Brett."

The dinner table was filled with laughter and conversation.

Kelly occasionally asked Royce about his work, and Royce answered patiently, his tone humble and sincere.

It was clear that Kelly's impression of him was improving, her smile growing brighter.

Halfway through the meal, Kelly suddenly asked, "Royce, what are your plans with Caroline?"

I was taken aback, not expecting Kelly to ask that.

I had told Kelly many times before that I might not get married again because I didn't plan on having more kids.

Kelly probably wanted to address my concerns and have a proper conversation with Royce...

Royce, however, remained composed. He put down his utensils and replied seriously, "Mrs. Sharp, Caroline and I have discussed it. When the time is right, we'll consider getting married. Brett is very supportive of us, right, Brett?"

He didn't mention whether he wanted his own kids.

Brett nodded, still chewing on a rib, mumbling, "Yeah, I like Mr. Castillo!"

Kelly looked pleased. "That's good... Royce, I'm not rushing you, but when you're ready, you must take good care of Caroline. There are four kids in the family. You'll be stepping in as a father to all of them, you know?"

Royce nodded. "Of course. I understand completely. Mrs. Sharp, don't worry. I'll take good care of them and never let them suffer."

Looking at Royce's serious profile, a wave of warmth washed over me.

His promise made me feel incredibly secure, as if every day in the future was filled with hope.
