Husband plans to kill me Chapter 325
Savannah had been sticking close to me, and in situations like this, she naturally wanted to confront him head-on.
But I didn't quite support her approach.
If it were someone else, maybe a good beating would suffice.
But Brandon was like a persistent shadow, impossible to shake off.
If we got physical now, he might turn the tables on us, and if it escalated to the police, we'd be in the wrong!
Even though Brandon was the one who provoked us first.
An idea popped into my head, and I turned to whisper a few words to Savannah.
Her eyes lit up as she turned to Brandon, "Since you came over to talk, why don't we have a private chat?"
Although we were almost done with our meal, if we could gather some information, we wouldn't mind getting a private room.
Brandon thought we were going to fight, but hearing our suggestion, he looked suspiciously at us, "You want to talk privately?"
I nodded, "What else? You came all the way here, it can't just be a coincidence to say a few words, right?"
I suspected that if they were really a group, my recent actions had clearly angered them or the person behind them. Maybe this person sent Brandon to mess with me.
They were like annoying mosquitoes, buzzing around without biting.
But I couldn't let them irritate me without gaining anything!
Thinking this, I signaled Savannah to find a waiter.
Soon, the waiter found us a private room and moved our unfinished dishes over.
"If I had known you wanted a private room, I would have arranged it earlier." The waiter smiled while tidying up our table, "It's a bit of a hassle now."
I shook my head, "It's fine, we can handle it ourselves."
After the waiter left and the door was closed, I looked at Brandon sitting across from us. "Alright, what do you want to say?"
I knew Brandon's personality all too well.
Even after years of marriage, he still hid things from me, but I could roughly understand his character.
Today, he definitely wasn't here just to provoke me with a few words.
I stared at him with a hostile gaze.
Brandon glanced at me and then at Savannah beside me. Without hesitation, I said, "If you want her to leave, no way. We both need to sit together and talk to you. If you want to talk to me alone, there's no need."
If I sat alone with him, who knew what he'd say afterward?
We had a marriage before, and there were many speculations about us, not just about our divorce.
The public was already full of gossip about us. If he claimed we were alone together, rumors about reconciliation might spread!
I wouldn't be able to explain it, and if Brandon dragged our issues to that level, my previous efforts would be in vain.
Thinking about his earlier threat to apply for custody of the kids, I said, "About what you said regarding the kids, let me be clear: it's not happening. When we divorced, I consulted a lawyer. Our divorce was entirely due to your infidelity and numerous improper actions, breaking the law. You can't be a good role model for the kids, so it's only right they stay with me!"
Brandon's arrogance diminished. "I'm not saying I must fight for custody. I just feel that I am their father, but you took everything in the divorce, left me with nothing, and the kids are all with you. I can't swallow this."
In the end, Brandon was upset about being left with nothing.
Renee probably thought he was useless, getting nothing from the divorce, and their years of planning were wasted!
Thinking about the Jordan family's past events, I knew Brandon was desperate. "It's not like that. You did wrong first. If I drugged you, imprisoned you at home, messed up your family's company, and filled it with my people, what would you do?"
I wasn't going to sugarcoat things anymore, so I chose harsh words. "And your illness! If it were me, your family would have kicked me out long ago!"
Brandon's face turned grim. "That's all in the past... And last time, when you found me in the house, I dreamed of you. I thought maybe we still had..."
His words disgusted me. "Stop thinking there's any chance between us. It's absolutely impossible!"
Talking about empathy was useless, so I laid it all out. "You came to me today because someone said something to you. I don't know who you're in contact with, but I've found out you've been up to no good lately."
I added, "I know there's someone behind you, never giving up on targeting me. But I'm no longer useful to you. Now I'm completely wary of you. What's the purpose of the person behind you making you do this? Knowing it's difficult, they still coax and deceive you. Don't you find it strange?"
Brandon's face changed repeatedly. "Stop talking nonsense. What coaxing and deceiving?"
"Isn't that how it always is? As long as someone tells you there's profit, you go for it. Renee deceived you like this before!"
Under my verbal attack, Brandon's face darkened. "I was talking to you nicely. It was a coincidence meeting you, just wanted to say hi, but you treated me like this from the start!"
"My attitude is all because of you! You said you wanted to take the kids' custody, who can tolerate that?"
He was a penniless father with a disease, who knew how many women he had messed around with, and now he was homeless!
Brandon was simply worthless.
