I never expected them to still be so polite to each other, so I looked at Joanna with concern.

Sensing what I was about to say, Joanna quickly interjected, "But don't worry, there's nothing between him and me anymore. It's been a long time since anything happened... so I should be healthy."

She frowned and told me that she had secretly gone for a check-up recently, and everything was fine.

And this had to be kept from the family; Ronnie couldn't find out.

I said worriedly, "This doesn't just threaten you... he might already be..."

I couldn't bring myself to say "virus carrier" in front of Joanna.

Joanna waved her hand, indicating she knew what I meant, and said, "We've both decided to get a divorce. Of course, I won't tell him about this. Kathy looked at me, then at Joanna, and couldn't help but say, "Joanna, if you're feeling bad, just cry. Caroline and I are here, and we know what you've been through."

Hearing Kathy say this, Joanna's expression changed. She looked at me, biting her lip, and said, "I really don't want you to worry about me anymore. I just didn't expect to feel a bit sad after coming here and feeling the atmosphere."

Kathy and I deeply understood.

I knew Joanna was saying this specifically to comfort me.

Joanna laughed and cried with us, then composed herself. Thankfully, Isadora didn't notice.

After chatting, Joanna remembered something and said to Kathy, "Speaking of which, I'm planning to divorce Ronnie, just waiting for the right time. My dad's position is changing, so it's not a good time to talk about it. I want to ask Simon to investigate some things for me."

Hearing this, Kathy glanced at me uncomfortably and smiled, "You can just ask Simon directly. We're all so close. Why do you always go through me?"

Joanna smiled and said, "Isn't it because you two are close? Everyone can see that Simon has a thing for you!"

"He probably talks to you every time he comes back, right?"

Kathy nudged me, "Stop talking nonsense! We're just friends. You guys are too much!"

In the car, Kathy and I chatted while Joanna seemed lost in thought, not saying a word.

It wasn't until we dropped her off at home that she snapped out of it and said to us, "What I told you today, you must keep it a secret. My plans need to be carried out discreetly."
