Werewolf
The White Wolf Chapter 138: Daisies
By the time she left the meeting, it was past time for her to get ready for dinner. Harley whisked her away to her chambers where a team of stylists sat waiting.
After a quick shower, she sat in front of a mirror in a robe. She was fuming. How did Delilah get on the committee?

Enzo went to check in with Gabe after making sure the queen was safe in her chambers. With the click of the door, he went straight to Gabe’s office.
He knocked and opened the door without bothering to open the door.
Gabe looked up with scrunched eyes papers in hand “What’s up?”
“Delilah is on the blood moon committee.” He filled him.
“In what position?” He sat back in his chair.
“Foreign Relations.” Enzo picked up a paperweight and looked at him.
“The hell? Why wasn’t I notified.” He began searching through papers on his desk.
“I don’t know she said her father and alphas appointed her.” Enzo placed the paperweight back on the desk.
“I doubt Dennis would waste time and resources just to let her annoy the Queen. There’s got to be more.” Gabe pursed his lips as he thought. He had to keep track of many people and sometimes he could forget something.
“I had similar feelings on the matter.” Enzo crossed his arms and shifted his weight to his heels.
“We will have to keep a close eye at dinner,” Gabe said running his hand through his hair.
“I’ll speak with security to watch for suspicious activities.”
“I’ll alert my assets. Now get out of the office I’ve got shit to do.” Gabe kicked him out of the office.
Enzo was walking through the hallways when he passed the head of the floral committee. Before he could help it a thought passed into his mind and he was speaking before he could stop himself “Mrs. Hayes may I have a moment of your time.”
Binder in hand she came to a stop. “Gamma Enzo how may I help you?”
“I was wondering how would one might procure daisies at this time of year?” He softened his voice.
“Daises? I do not get many requests for those but there are a few greenhouses in the kingdoms that grow them year round.” Yolanda said surprised before she began to think hard.
“Would you happen to know the contact information?” He asked for the information instead of demanding it.
“Here.” She placed her notepad on the tips of the binder pulling out a pin. “This is my assistant's phone number. Call her and she will set you up with whatever you need.” Smiling she ripped the sheet of paper off and handed it to him.
“Thank you, I appreciate it.” He said as nicely as he could his gruff nature seemed to inhibit his pleasantries.
“Happy to help.” She said before turning away and making her way to the exit of the palace.
He took his phone out and immediately called the number. They answered right away and he introduced himself and gave the assistant an overview of the conversation he had with Yolanda.
The assistant promised to email a list of greenhouses and their contact information. Saying his thanks Enzo hung up.
By the time he was back to his chambers to change for dinner, the list had come through. He scrolled it and found there was one in the capitol.
Without hesitation, he dialed the number. Ring after after ring no answer till finally on the last ring someone answered.
A young girl's voice came over the phone “Capitol Floral Farms, how may I help you?”
“Hello, I was calling to procure daises,” Enzo said politely.
“Daises? We have many daises, how many would you like?” There was a slight distraction in her voice as if she were going through the motions.
“All of them.” He didn’t think twice.
“All of them!” She exclaimed.
“Yes and can you deliver them to the palace?” He said steering the conversation past the amount of flowers.
“Let me go ask my mother.” The girl put down the phone and ran off. Enzo stared at the ceiling waiting for her to come back.
“Yes, we can do that. Who is the name on the order?” She came back breathless as if she had been running.
“Gamma Enzo, I’ll arrange for someone to meet you at the palace.”
“Of course, would you like them delivered today?” She was much more alert than she had been at the beginning of the conversation.
“Yes, please.” The sooner the better.
“We will get that taken care of right away, thank you.”
“Goodbye.” He hung up the phone not waiting for a reply. He contacted the guardhouse to notify them of the delivery then contacted housekeeping to explain where it was to be taken. It took several times to explain but eventually, he was able to make his thoughts clear.
Putting his phone down, he undressed and took a shower. He shaved and brushed his teeth and he was done with his hygiene routine.
His small closet held very few clothes. His tux was his only option with the dinner and the guests.
His tux was nothing special as he preferred to blend into the crowd. After he was dressed he went straight to security and asked for updates on Alpha Dennis and his daughter’s movements.
Nothing of note stood out to him. Unsatisfied he left to go to dinner. There were very few guests already at dinner but Enzo did not care for making an entrance.
Slowly the others filled in till Prince Dristan arrived with his entourage. His eyes sought her out combing through the sea of bodies. She wore a pale pink satin gown with a string of pearls. Carrying a small clutch purse that she held in front of herself between her hands she stayed back following dutifully.
Their eyes locked and she looked away. He could have sworn he saw her blush as she tucked a loose strand of curls behind her ears.
The royal couple arrived causing quite the stir as many gushed over the queen's necklace and there’s were clouded with jealousy. Enzo noted Delilah was amongst them.
When it came time for dinner to be served Enzo went to take his seat and noticed he was seated near the queen as usual but Cynthia was seated on the other side of the table. He could not even see here.
It made it hard to focus on his meal. He did not know who he even talked to or what he said. They could have served him rocks for dinner and he would not have known as he ate on autopilot. He finally saw her again when dinner was over but she quickly disappeared with the females.
He had a glass of bourbon to drink with the males not even noticing the burn as it made its way down his throat.
Finally, it felt like a suitable amount of time had passed and he could leave. He found a spot at the top of staircase where he could watch the door to the parlor where the females were.
He did not have to wait long before he saw Cynthia slip out of the room. He moved in the shadows and followed her till he came up behind her and wrapped his arm around her waist.
“Come with me.” He whispered in her ear and to his surprise, she did.
