Werewolf
The White Wolf Chapter 172: A House
Delilah was fast but she was no match for the queen who was on her feet before she could shift. Alexia’s hand grabbed her throat stopping her in her flight.
Over the desk, Alexia’s arm held her in place. Her eyes burned while Delilah’s were wide in shock. She tried to scratch at Alexia who just squeezed tighter blocking her airway.
Air could not fill Delilah’s lungs causing her face to redden each second. Words tried to escape but did not make it out.
Delilah was frantic as the last air that remained in her body escaped. She tried to fight but she could not move.
As she began to pass out Alexia leaned in just so she could hear her whisper “I’m the white wolf.”
She smirked as the realization dawned on Delilah before she ripped the female's throat out. The esophagus was between her fingers till she flicked it to the ground in repulsion.
Delilah’s body slumped to the floor. Dead. Walking around the desk, Alexua retrieved a napkin to wipe her bloody hand.
*When you’re done, come to my study* Alexia linked Edmund and Enzo. She had not intended to kill the female but the rage burned in her till it could not be contained. There was no relief just apathy.
Alexia stared down at Delilah’s dead body. The blood slowly poured from her wound. Her head tilted to the side as she analyzed her work. She sighed. “I told you, a carnation will never be a rose.”
In the private bathroom, she washed her hands off. Blood had splattered everywhere on her. It was not a clean kill as the blood had sprayed. However, she wanted to make sure she died. So she did not chance it. She would need new clothes. With a washcloth, she wiped her face clean and then redid her hair.
What bothered her the most was the stench of Delilah that lingered.
Turning she went back to her work as if nothing happened. She once again took her seat figuring she could finish some tasks before the makeshift arrived.
Enzo burst into the study “I smelled blood!” He said in alarm before seeing the body on the floor.
“Well as you can see it’s not mine.” She said nonchalantly.
His shoulders visibly relaxed as he stepped into the room shutting the door behind him. He looked over the body figuring out what transpired.
“Are you hurt?” He asked making sure there were not anyone unseen injuries in the queen.
“All scratches have already healed.” She said not bothering to look up. She never failed to impress him. He had seen strong females but the queen… she was different.
He could tell she held back in alpha training. He prayed she never had but he was curious what she would do unleashed.
“Dang it,” Enzo muttered.
“What’s wrong?” Alexia asked quirking an eyebrow at Enzo who was looking over the body.
“I bet Gabe a house would fall on. Put twenty on it.” Enzo explained.
“I’m sorry to disappoint you.” Alexia said sarcastically but at the same time amused.
“I’ll live.” Enzo rolled his eyes.
“Where is Edmund?” Alexia asked looking up from her desk towards the door.
“He’s finishing up. There’s a lot that goes into it when you arrest an alpha.” Enzo explained.
His answer made her certain she did the right thing. Now, no paperwork and no Delilah. It was a win-win situation.
“What did he say?” Alexia asked as they waited for Edmund.
“He vehemently denied any knowledge. When told his daughter had confessed. He turned to he had been coerced into it. He even tried to blame Alpah Marshall.” It was typical of his character. He would die. Eventually. First, they needed Caspian to return victorious then they would decide what to do with Dennis.
“Were there any problems getting him in a cell?” She did not imagine he willingly went into a cell to be chained to the wall.
“He did not go quietly but we diverted his entourage while we arrested him. Then after he was secured. We had the guards arrest them as well. They are all waiting in a cell to determine their innocence.” Enzo told her.
“We need to contact Caspian,” Alexia said with a he needed to know.
“There’s been no contact since last night,” Enzo said looking a little worried.
“We will reach out to Gabe first then go from there.” It was better their interior agave than the King in whatever it was they were doing.
“First we need to get rid of the body,” Enzo said looking back at Delilah.
“Let’s wait for Edmund before we do anything else,” Alexia said pausing their movements to wait.
While they waited for Edmund to join them. They sent Harley for refreshments. After the incident, Alexia had remained oddly calm. It was too calm for her liking. She needed coffee.
Harley visibly started at her arrival but tried to remain calm Alexia sent her away again so she did not have to stay.
Edmund finally arrived. His eyebrows raised then he shrugged before helping himself to the refreshments.
“We need to let Caspian know. She said Draxton was coming.” Alexia said as Edmund turned to them taking a drink of his coffee.
“I’ve sent out scouts. They haven’t picked anything up.” Edmund told her.
There was a chance that Delilah did not know anything useful. Perhaps Draxton would not try and invade and she was mistaken. The scouts had not picked anything up so that was a good sign.
“What did Caspian say to do?” Alexia needed some direction.
“I can’t get through,” Edmund admitted. “I think they might be too far away.
“The supply omegas could have a phone. We can try to get through.” Enzo chimed in.
Edmund cut him off. “I tried that too. No service.”
This was not good. Not being able to contact the king. The place was spiraling out of control fast.
“So we’re stuck,” Alexia said crestfallen.
“We wait,” Edmund said.
“We get rid of the body.” Enzo corrected.
“It’s sad,” Edmund said looking at the body pensively.
“That she’s dead?” Enzo asked confused.
“No. The rug, it’s at least fifty years old.” Edmund looked at Enzo like he had said something absurd.
“We‘ll send it out for cleaning,” Alexia said not bothering to look at either of them.
“Should we burn it?” Enzo questioned wondering whether or not they should bury her.
“No, pick her up and come with me,” Alexia said walking to the door.
