Leaving his mate sleeping in their bed, felt like a weight had been dropped on Caspian's chest. He enhaled her intoxicating sent one last time before he left.

Leaving his mother standing outside with her mouth hanging open made him laugh for twenty minutes after he left.

Caspian needed to inspect the kingdom. The rogue attacks were becoming more frequently and bolder in their attacks. The ones that had attacked him had been looking for a way in. Scouts. Scouts meant there were more rogues. Caspian was going hunting, and this Draxton, he was told about was his target.

He arrived at the Eagle Eye Packhouse by early afternoon. Their pack had been attacked recently and suffered many casualties.

Stepping out of the SUV, Caspian surveyed his surroundings. An older woman with hair that was begining to grey was crying outside at a near by building. A mother who had lost a son Caspian deduced.

He straightened his suit jacket as he looked around.

The air had a gloom to it. Some people ventured out to see the arrival of the king but each face was downcast and lacking. The Eagle Eye alpha was standing out front flanked by his beta and gamma. Each man looking beaten down with long faces.

At Caspian's approach they bowed their heads in submission. The sounds of Caspian's boots crunching againist the gravel was the only sound to be heard, his guards on high alert.

"Your majesty" The alpha said to him. He was a plain man with a nose that was noticiably longer than the average persons. He was a decent fighter, but nothing about him stood out.

Eagle Eye were average warriors who had not been trained hard or skillfully. It was no wonder the rogues tore through their ranks if the rogues were as cunning as Caspian thought them to be but further investagation was needed.

"Alpha Sheldon" Caspain spoke calmly to him.

"It is our pleasure to welcome you here." The sad alpha said with a smile that did not meet his eyes.

"Come let us speak while my men access the situation." Caspian said to him, gesturing to the packhouse.

"Yes, my gamma Maxwell will accompany them." He said moving aside for the king to enter. The gamma nodded to his alpha before going to join the king's men, walking with a limp.

The King entered the humble packhouse of the Eagle Eye Pack. An Omega approached Caspian bowing while offering refreshments. Caspian gave them his thanks before making his way into the office.

Caspian stepped into the room and made his way behind the desk sitting in the alpha's chair.

Alpha Sheldon clumisly tried to move papers off the desk while dropping some and muttering his apologies. Setting the papers to the side, he moved to sit in a chair facing the king. The beta moved to stand at the wall allowing a few of Caspian's to come into the room.

"What happned?" Caspian said getting right to the point and looking at the alpha who looked nervous.

"S-some of our guards were on patrol you see." He said beginning to recount the events that had taken place, fidgeting in his seat visably flustered.

Caspian eyed the alpha assessing him to see if he was a threat or the mastermind behind the attacks. With a sigh, he let go of that thought. There was no way this sad alpha could possible have orchestrated the attacks or been apart of them in any way.

"They were doing a routine patrol at the edge of the territory." The alpha spoke with sadness filling his eyes. "Leonard and Tom" He clarified.

Caspian waited for him to continue.

"They were ambushed and barely were able to call for help before they were killed. The warriors scrambled to try and get there. When we arrived they kept coming. We would gain some ground and then more would come. blood covered the ground. Eventually, they retreated." He said trying to reign in his emotions. "When the dust settled we were able to see our fallen. We lost 18 warriors. Not a single family in the pack was sparred a loss. The funerals never cease, one after another." He said unable to meet Caspian's gaze.

"Tell me about their movements" Caspian cut in hoping to distract the heartbroken alpha.

"They just kept coming but not in one place. They would break off and attack different parts of the territory like they were looking for something..."

“Did you capture any of them?” Caspian questioned him.

“No” Sheldon replied hanging his head. “The ones that we did not kill quickly succumbed to their injuries quickly before we could gather any information. “

Caspain rose from his chair after being satisfied with the information he was given. "I will be sending a group of warriors to stay here for the time being. Their job will be to train your warriors and streghten the eastern border. Since this is a border pack we need to make sure the border is secure." Caspian told the alpha of his plan.

Alpha Sheldon nodded eagerly "Yes! Please! Thank you!"

Caspian looked at one of his warriors "Ian, make it happen,"

Caspian looked out at the pack from the porch of the pack house, taking in the scene again of the broken pack.

One of Caspian’s warriors ran to him ready to give his report of the disheveled pack. The warrior bowed at his approach promoting Caspian to nod “Tell me” he said.

“The came from the eastern pass, we will believe they camped in the forest a few days before they attacked.” The warrior told him.

“Did you find anything?” The king persisted.

“Just trash from where we believe they were camping. We’ve collected some to send back to palace to be analyzed.” The warrior continued with his report.

“Good, I want to send the bodies back as well to be analyzed for ballistics and any other information we can gather.” Caspian said firmly looking at the warrior.

With a swift nod, the warrior turned to go make the arrangements.

Caspian decided to see the scene with his own eyes. Handing his suit jacket off to an attendant, he followed a warrior to examine the place of the battle.

He made it to the eastern border without breaking a sweat or even needing to change into his wolf form. Looking around he could see where brancjes were snapped and ruts in the dirt. Blood was smeared on grass and leaves. The Eagle Eye wolves fought for their lives.

His warriors had already scouted the area so he continued on to the rogue's campsite. He looked around at the trash that had been left behind, as he was walking his foot made contact with a piece of paper. Caspian bent down and picked it up from under his boot, as he examined he noticed something hand written that made his blood run cold.
