The White Wolf Chapter 25: Surprise

"Alpha Jacob, it is good to see you." Caspain spoke bringing everyone out of their daze.

"Thank you your highness it has been too long." Alexia's father said polietly, still slightly confused at the sight before him. "How may I be of asssitance to you? Is something wrong?" He continued on.

"No, no. Nothing is wrong. We have come to speak to you and your luna." Caspain responded with a smile trying to ease the alpha.

"We?" Alpha Jacob questioned.

"We" Alexia confirmed.

Realization first dawned on Alexia's mother, Shelia, as she spoke up. "Why don't we go inside where it is more comfortable so we may chat?"

"That would be lovely." Caspain responded to her, causing thge luna to gracefully bow then turn and lead the way up the front steps into the packhouse.

Alexia's nerves were eradict as they walked into the packhouse. She did her best to keep her composure and copy her mother's perfect movements. Alexia's father led them into a sitting room as her mother ordered tea and treats be brought in.

The sitting room was small with grand windows that gave a wonderful view of the packlands. Alexia never sat in this room growing up. It was reserved for special guests only. The seats in this room were expensive and as soft as a rabbits fur. Alexia's mom would threaten to skin their hide as childern if they messed up her furniture, casuing Alexia and her siblings to avoid it like the plague.

They waited for Caspian to choose a seat. He choose to sit on the couch and gave a reassuring look to Alexia to join him leaving her parents to sit in the headchairs as a sign of respect to the alpha and luna. Alpha Jacob and Luna Sheila paused for half a second in shock before taking their seats.

Tea shortly arrived, carried by her servant who look scared out of her mind to be serving the king. She barely managed to sit the tray down on the coffee table without spilling anything.

"That will be all Janice, thank you." Luna Sheila spoke to her causing her to bow and leave the room as if it was on fire.

"How do you take your tea your highness?" Shelia said in a calm voiced to Caspian.

"Just plain tea" He said just as calm. Shelia went to work as Jacob sat in his chair trying to wrap his head around the situation. She served the king first, then her daughter, her husband, and lastly herself. The group sat drinking their tea for a few moments before Caspian sat his down and looked at the alpha and luna.

"My apologies for our unexpected visit." He began. "We had some news we wanted to speak with you before anyone else."

"Oh?" Jacob asked raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, during training at the palace we discovered that we are in fact mates." Caspain said with his nervousness beginning to break through at the end.

"Are you marked?" Shelia chimned in.

"Yes" Caspian answered as the parents eyed them both.

"Are you happy?" Jacob said looking at Alexia who confindently answered "Yes." After looking her over Jacob nodded.

Then Jacob turned his attention to Caspain. "She is a white wolf." He stated.

"I know, and I know the target that puts on her back." He said suddenly becoming cold as he thought about those who would wish his mate harm. "My Gamma, Enzo, is in charge of her security. He is here if you wish to meet with him." Caspain told him.

Jacob nodded his head as he went into thought. It was his luna who spoke next. "What happens next?" She asked.

"Next, Alexia will be crowned Queen. The palace will host a a ball this coming weekend to celebrate and announce her as queen." Caspian said.

Shelia immediately began to focus. "This weekend? That's so soon... We will need dresses and tuxes. Hair... Nails..." Her eyes drifting off as her mind raced.

"When will it be announced?" Shelia questioned, her hands clasped together in her lap.

"Tommorow, invitations will be sent out for the kingdom to come pay honor to their new queen." Caspain said smiling at Alexia who blushed and looked down.

"I'm sure many will be curious to find out who the queen is, especially since you have been without a mate for so long..."

"My mother and I'm sure Alexia-" Caspain cut in looking to his mate "-would appreciate your imput if you would like to come help plan this week."

"Yes, Yes, Yes" Shelia agreed nodding enthusiastically. Jacob looking off as if in his own world tuning out his wife. He always let her have free reign to do what she wants to do.

"How is your mother?" Shelia asked stopping her enternal planning.

"She is good, keeeping busy as usual. We're gonna sit down with her to tell her later today." Caspian informed her.

"So you probably will not be able to stay for dinner.... what a shame." Shelia thought aloud. "Be sure to pull your sister aside before you leave. She would die if you did not tell her." The luna said looking at her oldest daughter.

"I will mother" Alexia said and then turned to her father. "Luca knows as well"

"I figured, you two have never kept a secret from the other." Jacob said unsurprised waving his hand in front of his face.

"While we are here Alpha Jacob, I was hoping that we may be able to discuss the rogue situation that has been occuring on the borders." Jacob's demeanor shifted as he went into alpha mode. On alert, ready to protect his people.

"Yes" he said. "While the ladies have a chance to catch up, why don't you and I go into my office so I can give you a report of our sightings and dealings with rogues." Jacob said gaining a nod of approval from Caspain.

"This is gonna be a busy week" Alexia said letting out a sigh as she leaned back into her chair, causing a laugh from the group as the men got up to leave the room.

"Your life will never be the same." Her father said looking at her and then turned to leave the room.
