The White Wolf Chapter 29: The Last Week

Luca and Alexia found a spot to train away from preying eyes where they could relax with the help of Enzo. Enzo directed them to Caspian's private training area where no one would dare try to adventure to, knowing that is what the king would want. Then he found a spot to longe and monitor the area.

The twins went back and forth in a sparring match that seemed like a dance of eloquency. Each sibling moved with such grace and expertise that Enzo found himself on the edge of his seat mezmoried by their movements.

They went around and round for an hour and had hardly broken a sweat. Punch. Punch. Kick. Punch. Punch. Kick. Swoop. Each was skilled but they had grown up sparring that they knew what the other would do before they even did it. The Gamma was slack jawed..

"I heard your father was a force to be reckoned with and you two were pretty good but it seems the gossip had under sold your abilities. Both of you have been holding back in training," Enzo stated when they stopped to stretch giving them a knowing look. Alexia threw him a side smile at his remark.

"Showing off is unlady like Enzo." Alexia said trying to keep a straight face but failed letting out a laugh.

Enzo rolled his eyes "Perhaps one day, Luca, you and I can step into the ring." He said playfully raising his fists.

"What about me?" Alexia said placing her hands on her hips and being a little put off at not being condidered.

"Um, thanks, but no thanks." Enzo said giving her a wearlily look. "I prefer my face to be in one piece. If I land a blow Caspian will take it out on my face and then the furniture. And thats some expensive furniture and plus you know, I like my face." He said tossing a stick he had been playing with to the side.

Alexia opened her moth and then shut it again and then finally spoke "Caspian would not do that." she said unsure of herself.

"Oh yes he would." Enzo immediatly corrected her with certainty in his voice.

"What was that with Gabriel earlier?" Luca asked cutting into their conversation.

Enzo's face fell at the question. He ran a hand over his face as he responded. "It happened when we were sixteen." he began."Gabe and his younger brother used to sneak out and go exploring. Well, one day they snuck out like usual but they found this cliff and Gabe wanted to see what was at the top but it was dangerous so he told his brother to stay at the bottom. When he got to the top he looked around and caught the scent of rogues. He rushed down the edge spraining his wrist in the process but.."

"But he did not make it in time." Alexia said finishing the sentence when Enzo could not. He gave her a nod of comfirmation. The mood in the trio dropped significantly as they digested what Enzo had said to them.

Enzo's phone buzzed causing him to glance down. "The queen mother wishes to speak with you when you get a chance." He announced to the group.

"Me?" Alexia asked surprised tilting her head to the side.

"No, me. Of course you." Luca said sarcastically. "You are the Queen or the Queen to be at least."

"There is a lot to do and I guess I have put it off for long enough." Alexia said as she gathered her things to make her way back to the palace.

Alexia found Caspian's mother in her study holding Edmund captive. "Ah! There she is!" She said as she walked to Alexia pulling her into an embrace.

"Can you believe what my son did! He leaves this morning and as he is about to shut the car door he says 'Oh, by the way I found my mate and her cornation ball will be this friday.' So nonchalantly and then shut the door and left." She said animately.

"I could not believe my son would leave me standing there in disbelief. I cmust of called him a hundred times. So I said to myself, Judy, you know what to do. So I hunted down my OTHER son.-And Oh! He was tough but i broke him till he squeeled! and as it turned I was able to finally get some answers." She said finally releasing Alexia from her hold, proud of the information she had gleaned from her younger son.

Caspian's mother had always been a bit dramatic but she was definetly a force to be reckoned with when she set her mind to it. Alexia was too shocked to say anything. He sat down with his parents very respectfully but it seemed he just causully mentioned his mate to his own mother.

"I-I'm sorry" Alexia began unsure of what to do. Nervous she looked at Enzo and then looked at Edmund hoping one of them would help her. Niether men moved a muscle. Edmund looking defeated after already having endured his mother's pestering.

"Oh! Don't dare apologise for that heathen of a son of mine, I'll deal with him when he gets back!" She said with fire in her voice.

The queen mother continued not waiting for reply. She clasped her hands together in glee as she continued "Oh Alexia! I am just so happy! I have watched you kids grow up and your parents are such good friends of ours! This is just wonderful! Wonderful I tell you!" Alexia could not help at smile at her happiness, it was infectious.

"Mother, if you are done with me may I be excused?" Edmund asked looking for an escape from his mother.

"Yes, yes go. I am no longer in need of you anymore." She replied waving her hand in dismissal, smiling at Alexia.

After Edmund had left, the queen mother declared "Now, we have a lot of matters to attend to and very little time."
