Werewolf
The White Wolf Chapter 47: Little Sister’s Help
They did not waste any time. Luca immediately began making the necessary preparations for his journey.
He would leave his mate at the palace while he was gone. When he returned he would bring her home to his pack since she would one day become Luna.
Needing to let off steam, Caspian went to the training grounds with Gabe so they could throw a few punches around, not planning to return till they could barely walk.
Alexia set out to find Morgan. Making a beeline for her sisters room, she knocked on the door. No answer. She knocked again. Again silence. Carefully she slowly opened door.
A smile graced her face when she saw her little sister still sleeping. Slipping in she quietly shut the door. Carefully she watched to make sure she had not disturbed her before running to the bed and jumping onto it just as she had done when they were children.
“Wake Up!” She said as she landed.
“Huh?” Morgan said in a confused voice sitting up, her hair in disarray. “Oh it’s you.” She added before falling back onto her pillow
“Get up” Alexia said as she grabbed a pillow and flung it at her little sister.
“No” Morgan grumbled.
“I need you help” Alexia said with a nudge.
“Waking me is not a good way to make me want to help you.”
“Come on”
Not even bothering to open her eyes, Morgan asked “Ugh, what is it?”
“I need you to put your super sleuthing skills to the test and find out if anyone knows about Luca and I.”
Cracking one eye open, Morgan looked at her sister. “About being white wolves?” She said in a hushed tone.
“Yes.” Alexia replied in a serious tone.
Finally opening both eyes, Morgan sat up. Slowly turning to face her sister, she arched an eyebrow. “Has something happened?”
“Maybe, but we can’t know for sure.”
“And what exactly do you want me to do?”
“Blend in and see if you can’t overhear what people are saying. Get a feel for the gossip.”
“It will be hard, but I’ll see what I can find out. But first I need a shower.” Morgan said with a stretch and a yawn.
“I’ll leave you to it.” Alexia said rolling off the bed and making her way to the door.
“You could have at least brought coffee!” Morgan yelled as Alexia walked out of the room laughing.
Since she handled that matter, Alexia went off to complete her next task.
Alexia found herself sprawled out on her bedroom floor, books surrounding her turned to various pages.
Tapping the end of a pen to her forehead, she pondered over various words she read.
She poured herself over the chronicles of the kings, hoping someone wrote something down. Her efforts were not in vain as one mentioned a king named Kovika. She squealed at the revelation but could to find anything about him having special abilities. Her search continued.
As she took a bite of her lunch, Caspian retuned. Hobbling and covered in mud and blood he entered the room.
The sight started Alexia, causing her to jump up and rush to his side.
“I’m fine” He said putting his hand up.
“What happened to you?”
“Some much needed steam was worked off. All I need is a shower and I’ll be good as new.” He said not bothering to stop as he made his way to his the bathroom, dodging books on the ground.
“You look terrible” Alexia told him as she followed him into the bathroom.
“Such honeydew words you have for me love.” He said as he turned on the water. Not even bothering to wait for the water to heat up, he stepped under the stream turning it brown.
She let out a small snort at his words but he continued.
“You see the pain helps me think. Without any energy left in my body, my brain is able to process things better.” He said lathering his body in soap
“And were you successful? Because you look like you solved world peace”
Stepping out and wrapping a towel around his body replied. “With these bruises? Oh, yes.”
“I will never understand men.”
“Sweetheart, we don’t even understand why we do the things we do. We just know it works.”
“Well then, please tell me what you have learned from being pummeled.” Alexia challenged.
The bruises on his skin were already beginning to heal as Alexia looked her mate up and down.
He gave her a smirk. “I had a thought. The attacks have been spread out. While Silver Moon has been attacked, they have not had anymore attacks than anyone else. This suggesting they do not know about you specifically and targeting packs. The fact that they would even attack Silver Moon is worrisome though.”
“We handled it fairly easily.”
“That’s not the point, Silver Moon is a death wish and only the desperate or stupid or both would risk it.” He told her.
“What about when we fought the rogues when you were attacked?”
“Gabe -who by the way looks worse than I do- has been working on getting information. They’re either really good at pretending to be stupid, or they’re not pretending.”
“So dead end?”
“Not exactly, the information we have gathered may prove to be useful.” He said walking out of the closet as he finished buttoning his shirt and already wearing pants. “Now, as we saw today, I- excuse me, we’re going to be challenged for our position. Thus, showing how important it is that I put an end to this rogue problem.”
“And how to you intend to do that?” Alexia asked with skepticism.
“Anyway I can.”
“Brilliant” Alexia said with a roll of her eyes.
“Does your brainstorming always involve getting blood on the carpet?” Alexia said surveying the drops that fallen on the floor.
“Only the good ones.”
“Men”
“Now I must put my brilliance to other uses as I have trade meetings to attend to and I finally figured out how to fix the eastern trade route. Thanks to my workout session.” He said giving her a kiss on the cheek before continuing “See? There is a method to my madness.”
“Madness it is indeed.”
