Alexia woke monday morning unsettled. She did not see Caspain at all the day before, She knew he was busy which is why she did not dare bother him but she did worry.

Rolling out of bed, she grabbed a set of athletic clothes and set out to early morning training.

The air was crisp in the early moring, dawn not quite breaking over the horizon. The events of the last weekend pushed her to work harder, running to her legs burned. She dripped in sweat as she finally decided to take a break.

Caspian did not come to work out with her but a servant was waiting with her coffee and breakfast when she was done.

"Thank you" she smiled reaching for the steaming cup in the young woman's hand. She sat on the grass eating her breakfast.

When she was done, she stood up brushing the crumbs away.

Group Training came and went. Word of the rogue attack spread throughout the palace rapidly. The alphas were restless by the news, each one on edge wanting to prove themselves as the best.

Gabe made them run multiple times to make them stop whispering amongst themselves. "How could that many rogues make it past the border?" one would whisper. "I don't know but how did the king make it out alive?" Another questioned. "Should we go back to our packs?" Someone else said worried.

"Enough!" Gabe roared. "I have had it with you childern. What you should be worried about is being the best alpha you can be!"

A hush fell over the group and they were able to continue in peace. Alexia let out a breath in relief since no one had mentioned a white wolf.

The workout helped work her nerves out. That afternoon they had diplomacy lessons.

They took turns roll playing different conflicts, one group had been given a border dispute and got so heated it came to blows.

The teacher shook her head at the alphas "No, just no. You failed miserably. Violence should always be the last resort." She told them.

"Last resort? It's the first resort! If anyone messes with my territory they are gonna meet my fists!" Grant pipped in, holding his fists up proudly while he puffed out his chest. The squad let out a groan from his display.

"Oh Grant..." Hazel muttered.

"Look, he is holding up his IQ." Luca added causing a chuckle from the group.

Grant gave him a sharp look but kept his mouth closed.

Alexia was over the tension. After the class ended she made her way to her tiny nook in the library for solace.

Her heart dropped a little when she saw there was no note or rose from Caspian. She curled into her seat, diving into her book. She had been there a while when she heard a knock on the bookshelf.

Looking up she saw Caspian looking handsome and holding a rose. He walked over to her, handing her the rose as he placed a kiss on her cheek.

Her cheeks flushed at the contact and caused electricity to traverse through her body. His scent surrounded her like a warm blanket and a smile subconsciously found it way to her lips.

"Hello Darling." He said sweetly looking at her. "I'm sorry I missed our morning, did your breakfast find it's way to you?"

"Do not worry about it and yes it did, thank you." She responded. "Have you made any progress?"

"Yes" He said with a sigh. "We are making progress but there are still a lot of unanswered questions."

"Anything I can do to help?" She asked, not liking seeing her mate stressed.

"Not at the moment, thank you. Just please stay safe for me." He said looking at her pleading with his eyes.

"Of course" She smiled at him calming his nerves.

"Anyway" He said with a wave of his hand. "That is not what I came to talk to you about."

"Oh really?" She asked sitting up.

"Yes" he said smiling at her. "I was wondering if you would do me the honor and go on a date with me this friday?"

"Do I have a gentlemen caller?" She said cheekily.

"You do my lady." He responded gleefully.

"It would be my honor your highness" She said with dramatic flair.

Caspian dropped to his knee taking her hand in his and lightly placed a kiss on the back of her hand.

"I look forward to it." Caspian said looking up at her. He stood up and kissed her cheek. "I am sorry I cannot stay longer but I must be going, work is never ending."

Alexia nodded with understanding. Caspian squeezed her hand one last time before he let go and turned around to leave.

Just as he was about to disappear from sight he looked back at her and said "Oh, Alexia." He paused. "You look beautiful today my darling." Afte that he turned back and walked away.

Alexia blushed at his words. They had grown closer over the weeks. She would accept him as her mate, that she was sure of.

That would mean she would be queen? Was she ready for that? She was only eighteen. The gravity of it his her like a ton of bricks causing her to sink into her chair.

Her parents had no idea that she was the king's mate. How do you break that news? Hey mom and dad how is the weather? Oh by the way your daughter is going to be queen.

She would need to work on diplomacy, etiquette, and whatever else a queen does. She would talk to Caspian about it, she felt as though she could tell him anything. He listened to her.

She could not focus for the rest of the night and abandoned any chance of reading her book. She went to bed making a mental list of everything she would need to do as queen. She did not know everything but she knew her life was about to change forever.
