Sauntering over to the training area, they quickly fell into easy conversation. Trying to catch up with each other’s lives as they both have demanding schedules.

Upon arrival, Edmund jumped around loosening his muscles. Alexia shed her jacket and swung her arms in front of her. They went through stretches, trying to prevent any injuries. A quick lap around the area and they were ready.

After Alexia tied her hair back, they squared up facing each other. Alexia readied herself in the stance her father had taught her. They circled each other waiting for the other to make the first move. Alexia lunged. Edmund blocked. They each exchanged jabs trying to make contact.

Determination was written on Alexia's face. Huffs and puffs came out of her mouth.

Edmund did not go light. He threw his body behind his punches. Alexia had to move fast to dodge his blows. It had been a while since she had spared with someone who was not afraid to hurt her.

"I think you're losing your edge." Edmund taunted in hopes of throwing Alexia off her game. Her skills made it difficult for him as he was used to winning quite easily.

"Keep dreaming," Alexia said unrattled, her stance unwavering. She didn't take her eyes off him knowing the moment she did he would attack.

They danced, or at least it looked like it. Bouncing back and forth. Around each other.

Loose strands of hair fell around Alexia's face as time went on. The sweat on her body caused it to stick to her. Her punch skimmed Edmund's arm. Cunningly he evaded her blow.

With each punch, she felt herself getting stronger. She refused to be weak. The recent events left her feeling helpless. She would stand firm against any adversity that came to her and Caspian. By his side, they would defend their kingdom.

Soon they were both dripping with sweat.

Enzo walked over and watched their duel. His eyes went back and forth between the two of them.

"You touch her, and you are going to have bigger problems than your mother," Enzo said stretched out like a cat.

Edmund scoffed but did not take his eyes off Alexia.

"You didn't threaten Luca when you watched us spare?" The question in her voice, keeping her own eyes on Edmund.

He did not deign to glance over but instead said with a huff. "That's because the person he should be worried about wasn't here." He picked his nails as he said the words.

"Are you going to tattle?” Edmund said standing straight up and placing a hand on

"I haven't decided yet." Nonchalant as ever.

"Uh-huh. Why don't you worry about yourself?" the question led to a misstep as for a fraction of a second he lost focus.

"Ok, it's your funeral." A shrug.

Before he could focus back Alexia was throwing another punch that he barely missed. She smiled as he startled trying to steady himself once again.

They picked up where they left off. Jab. Dodge. Jab. Each outmaneuvering the other. Without Luca here Alexia missed having a partner, granted Edmund talked more than Luca but she still enjoyed his company. Edmund filled her in on the gossip of the other packs as it was a lot quieter in the palace without Alpha training. There also was a never-ending line of she-wolves desperate to throw themselves at him. He told her about the weird letters he had received. One that really stood out was a letter enclosed with the nail clippings of a particularly desperate wolf.

“Why?” She asked in confusion.

“I don't know, probably trying to put a love spell on me or something,” Edmund replied having become desensitized to the weird behavior.

Alexia had become so used to fighting and knowing what moves Luca would make, Edmund would surprise her with how he fought. She had to concentrate to make sure she didn't make a mistake. And then she did.

Alexia's eyes widen as Edmund made contact. His fist hit her stomach causing her to tumble to the ground.

"Oh no! Are you ok? Tell me you're ok?" Edmund's eyes darted from where he hit her and then to her face. Hovering over her and buzzing like a bee.

"You're dead," Enzo said matter-of-factly looking at the queen. His eyes scanned her for any injuries and then relaxed when he was satisfied, moving on to taunting Edmund.

She was stunned not from pain but from surprise. looking at her stomach she was unable to form the words to answer Edmund's pleas.

"You're not saying anything! My brother's going to kill me. You can shake it off, right? You're alright. Let me help you up." He fell over his words trying to get them out of his mouth.

"Edmund," She said quietly causing him to look at her directly hanging on her words.

"Yes? What is it?" He leaned in closer, fully focused.

"Shut up." She said before gathering herself to her feet and shaking the dirt off of her.

Relief washed through Edmund and he let a small smile slide onto his face before he stated. "You know this can stay between the two of us." He motioned to both of them with his finger.

"Two?" Enzo scoffed.

"Enzo, I believe it is best for the safety of the kingdom that we keep this little incident a secret."

"Safety of the kingdom? Safety of your face." Enzo crossed his arms and assessed the prince. "I will keep this little incident in the back of my mind next time I have to clean up one of your messes."

They went back to sparing till Alexia caught him off guard and swept his legs out from under him. He landed on his back with a hiss before dropping his arms over his knees. Alexia crossed her arms as she looked down at him. "Consider us even."

Before he could respond, Edmund Leaped in surprise as a perfectly manicured hand came down onto his shoulder, nails digging into his skin. "Gotcha!" Judy hissed. "Do you know the political storm you have unleashed upon me?" Beginning her scolding.

Alexia had seen Judy's approach but gave Edmund no warning. Instead, she laughed as he received his verbal lashings. The way Judy spoke Alexia would not be surprised if she sent him to the dungeons.

Giving Edmund a mocking wave, she decided to go about her business.
